Reebok Kamikaze 2011 New Colorways

That Swizz Beatz’ production and recording career has proven to be nearly doubly as long as Shawn Kemp’s career peak goes to show how much has changed since the latter was dunking at the 1995 NBA All-Star Game in the original Reebok Kamikaze.  But rappers can move sneakers just as well if not better than basketball players these days and the inclusion of this nod to a mid-90s classic earns Swizzy’s collabo with RBK some extra street cred.  The Reebok Kamikaze 2011 was designed by Swizz Beatz and will see its first colorway hit retailers this Friday the 13th in a super-limited run, but after that the general public can get its fair share of Hexalite cushioning when these black/red and grey/teal colorways hit retailers later this summer.  Click through to see more of both and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release dates.  via Eastbay

The grey colorway makes the shoe look almost like a throwback to 1996 ~ 1998 when Reebok's basketball line was at its prime. The Question, The Answer, Preacher Ice, Shaq Dunkmob, Shaq Reflection, Shaq Steel. People often say Reebok had their best in the late 80's, but for me the mid-late 90's was the most memorable.

top lace holes and that triangle thingy part could've been blended together better

1st off these aren't worthy of the Kamikaze label. 2nd the Zig tech, 2 me, wld fit the jagged lines tht made the OG Kamikaze so unique. I kno the OG's had hexilite but if Zig tech is the direction they're going in thn tht chg may hav been applicable. Thn mayb John Wall cld hav picked up the Kamikaze torch, alone! Dt get me wrong Swizzy still cld hav collab'd on it.

  8. Jerronimo Says:

not impressed! Reebok is on my sh*t list for using the Shawn Kemp shoe name….
