During the build-up and aftermath of the phenomenon that was 2009’s Nike Air Yeezy, Sneaker News showed you the a variety of design drawings, revisions and prototypes of Kanye West’s first Nike collaboration. The upcoming Air Yeezy II has gotten most of the attention lately, but we can’t miss out on going back to the original to see a sample that Mark Fatlace says will “never see the light of day.” This model looks to be most similar to the Net/Net edition but with a (Zen?) grey midfoot strap and with a yellow-accented midsole that didn’t make it to retail on any version. And while these are some substantial differences, the biggest single change might be to the tongue lining where a paisley print had once occupied a piece of silky fabric that would have fit in with Reebok’s Prince Pack. Click through to see some more angles and let us know how this nixed Air Yeezy compares to the official releases, and stick with Sneaker News for updates on the Nike Air Yeezy II. via CJL
