Sneakerness Cologne 2011 Event Recap

Sneakerness Cologne 2011 was already projected to be a huge success thanks to a great preview video that we showed you a few weeks back, but here’s some actual proof from the event! Keep in mind that the sneaker game in Europe is a far cry from the Air Jordan and Nike Basketball driven craze we have here; Euro sneakerheads are heavy on trainers (running shoes) from all types of brands (in fact, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a pair of Jordans inside the sick venue). In addition to the sneaker buying/selling, there some great installations from Puma and a great sneaker art gallery exhibit. We’ve got more for you below so take a look and head to Sneaker Freaker for the entire recap.

Nike Zoom Kobe VI Draft Day Release Reminder

Professional sports is a huge mix of ‘what ifs?’. What if Michael was drafted by the Lakers? What if Kobe never got traded to the Los Angeles Lakers? The NBA horizon would be completely different over the last decade if Kobe donned teal instead of gold to match his purple-trimmed uniform, but a star of Kobe’s caliber belongs in the biggest spotlights. Releasing tomorrow at Nike Basketball retailers is the Nike Zoom Kobe VI in the ‘Draft Day’ colorway, which matches the Hornets White, Purple, and Blue uniforms. Whether or not this colorway is either a tribute or a mockery of the Charlotte franchise is up to debate, but it’s sick colorway regardless. Check out these new images courtesy of SoleMovement and pick these up tomorrow or right now on eBay.

Nike Air Huarache Basketball 2012

Sneaker News continues its previews of upcoming Nike releases with the Nike Air Huarache Basketball 2012 – a hybrid product featuring the upper of the Nike Air Flight Huarache Basketball from the 1990′s Nike Basketball catalog and a Flex-grooved basketball specific outsole with multi-directional flexion. The Huarache style of construction is most recognizable due to the open-air window around the ankle, with a purpose of reducing weight – in other words, the way to lighten a pair of shoes is to completely remove a material (take that, Crazy Light). In this case, it receives further weight reduction thanks to the lightweight outsole. Seven colorways are confirmed for the Spring 2012 season, and we’ve got a look at the whole bunch after the jump, so take a look and let us know what you think of this hybrid design. via CK.

Recent releases have been on point, like the ‘Honeycomb‘ and ‘Brown Kelp‘ Quickstrikes that hit us not long ago. Get ready for a trio of great releases, constructed of similar materials as the aforementioned Quickstrikes, finished in near-tonal colorways; get ready for Team Red, Obsidian, and Black uppers, each paired with a secondary color accent on the front quarter panel and uppermost eyelet, with matching outsoles for the simple, two-toned look that made the Air Max 1 such a popular shoe over the years. Expect these this July, so check out all three below and let us know which of the three you like best. via Urban Industry.

Nike Air Max 90 Busy P by MizzeeCustoms

MizzeeCustoms has been keeping himself busy with Nike LeBron 8 and Air Jordan VI custom sneakers, but let’s take a look back at one of his marquee customs from two years ago – this inspired by the Busy P x Nike Air Force 1. Mizzee captured all the notable details of the mid-2009 releasing Air Force 1, utilizing the rainbow gradient on the midsole and scribbling graffiti-like graphic on the black upper. Mizzee is not one to skip out on details, as he’s even colored in the contrast stitching to a light pink and even selected a specific Air Max 90 base that had a pink inner lining. Well, loved his Air Max 90 ‘Busy P’ so much that it became one of his go-to pairs in his rotation, and he recently gave us a look at the pair, which we must admit looks to be in decent shape after 8 straight months of usage. Check out the rest of ’ older work after the jump and let us know what you think.

Nike ACG/Outdoor Footwear Fall/Winter 2011 Preview

How did Nike ACG branch out to the fashion/lifestyle circles? Who knew a pair of trail sneakers or bulky boots would become such a fashion statement and even a wardrobe staple in some regions of the world. Some releases, despite the ACG branding, were designed with ‘lifestyle’ partially in mind, like the Air Force 1 High ‘Duckboot’ and ACG Woodside Boot. For the Fall 2011, you can expect a lot from Nike ACG and Nike Sportswear with the outdoor motif in mind, including a number of new models and designs that’ll have you rocking heat while keeping your feet warm through the harsher conditions. Check out the all new , a rugged trail boot with the super-comfy TrailFrame support, Zoom cushioning, and a vertical zipper on the medial wall of the shoe, and you can expect at least two vibrant colorways in maroon/black/hot red and olive/black/neon. Another notable upcoming release is the Nike Air Royal Mid Boot, which features the same slimmed-down upper with a rugged, trail-ready footbed. There’s plenty more to see after the jump so take a good look at what’s to come from Nike ACG and Nike Sportswear and let us know what catches your eye. via END.

Nike Zoom Huarache 2 Spring 2012

Are we looking at the first images of Amare’ Stoudemire’s next weapon of choice?  Check out the initial preview shots of the Nike Zoom Huarache TR 2, a cross-trainer that gained fame this NBA season when the Knicks’ explosive big man brought the team back to the playoffs while wearing a range of New York-themed player exclusive colorways.  The first three here aren’t anywhere close, but the two-toned looks are solid and the silver/neon edition is sure to turn heads.  Click through to examine some additional images and let us know how these compare to the first Zoom Huarache Trainer.  via CK

Nike Zoom Kobe VI FC Barcelona Home Detailed Images

In Europe, sneakerhead tastes tend toward running shoes more so than the basketball and skate dominated United States.  So even though their inspiration is a Spanish soccer club, the Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘FC Barcelona’ Pack releasing as a Euro-exclusive comes as a bit of a shock.  It’s a shame for Kobe collectors because this particular colorway is a great piece to commemorate Kobe Bryant’s favorite football squad and the sport that inspired the Zoom Kobe series’ lowcut designs.  Click through to see some more images from CT and let us know if you were lucky enough to get your hands on a pair of Barca Zoom Kobe VIs.  For those still looking, you can find a nice assortment of both colorways available now on eBay.

Nike LeBron Ambassador IV Grey Black Yellow

LeBron James is just one win away from returning to the NBA Finals, where even one victory would have to signify that this is King James’ best season yet.  It’s also been his best signature sneaker yet, with the Nike LeBron lineup expanding to three in-season models without depriving the market of enough space to offer models like the Soldier and the above pictured series that’s quite popular in Asia.  The Nike LeBron Ambassador IV is the latest in a long line of AP-exclusive budget priced drops, this grey, black and yellow pair perhaps a revised version of a similar palette we previewed back in March.  Click through to see more and stick with Sneaker News for word on the release date.  via YouBigDummy on NT

Air Jordan 1 Retro High GS Grey White Yellow Blue

Michael Jordan himself just donated an OG pair to the Jordan Brand archive, and especially when comparing those to this latest release can you easily tell how far the Air Jordan 1 has come over the years.  This latest Air Jordan 1 Retro for girls comes in a colorway that would have been even more ‘banned’ than the OGs, a grey, white and yellow palette with no correspondence to the Chicago Bulls aside from enabling cute outfits with a sporty twist.  Click through to see more angles and expect these at select JB retailers like LA’s Millennium Shoes next month.
