That the above pictured pair has a roughly average neck-break quotient for the duration shows you how wild the Reebok x atmos collaborations have been over the years.  But don’t mistake that for suggesting that the atmos x Reebok Tokyo Pack won’t garner it’s fair share of attention.  This new set of Pump Omni Zone and Insta Pump Furys is united by a UV-looking purple, green, black and white colorway, and wouldn’t you know it, the splatter sections do indeed glow in the dark.  If you could get your hands on a pair, they’d be quite sick as a Halloween sneaker with orange laces, but you’ll have to work your overseas connects because they’re hitting Japan’s atmos in July.  via SM

The upcoming Nike Air Foamposite Pro in the electrifying Retro Blue and Black colorway does have some similarities to the Nike LeBron 8 ‘South Beach’ that released last year. The Foamposite has that bright blue upper, the black trim, and a translucent outsole (close enough to ‘Filament Green’ on the LeBron 8s), but it was still missing that ‘umph’, which is effortlessly provided in ample amounts by even the slightest hints of hot pink. So, without having to make any major structural changes to the shoe, we slapped on some hot pink laces to see if this easy ‘South Beach’ fix-up would translate as well as we thought it would – but you be the judge. To keep it true to the LeBron 8 styling, we chose the thick, flatter laces found on the Nike LeBron 8, and a quick 5-minute lace-swap produced an even snazzier pair of Foamposites that will likely lead to other sneakerheads spending the extra $3 for new laces. Earlier today Sneaker News have you a look at the Nike Sportswear ‘Vac-Tech’ Pack, which featured four popular NSW designs redone with Vac-Tech uppers. The Air Max 1 wasn’t part of that group (yet), but here’s a look at some new colorways for the trail-blazer of the Air Max legacy, set for a release in the Fall 2011 season. You can expect some new materials, like the mesh toe-box that is currently the primary material on the Air Max 1 iD, a thicker canvas-like material used on the recent Air Max 1 ‘Honeycomb’ and ‘Brown Kelp’, and one in Black Leather, which features a funky graphic on the upper quarter panel. White basketball shoes have been a summer necessity since the Air Force 1, but as new technologies develop, designers are able to add little twists here and there to keep things feeling fresh.  Have a gander at this new Nike Hyperdunk 2010 Low in the immortal white and Metallic Silver combo.  They have a bit more character than your average all-white lowtops thanks to an iridescent shine on the Flywire-reinforced TPU upper shell.  This spectrum effect looks quite nice next to the metallic heel counter, more images of which you can see by clicking on the jump below.  If you like what you see, grab a pair from a Nike Basketball retailer like Schuh-You.

How does a collaborator follow up on a release like the Brooklyn Projects x Nike SB Dunk Low?  Apparently the answer is, fire the guy who messed it up and handle the next one yourself.  It’s personal this time around for BP owner/founder Dom DeLuca, who called upon his love of thrash as a theme for Brooklyn Projects’ Nike SB Dunk High ‘Reign in Blood’.  DeLuca managed to walk the thin line between rugged and refined, this model showing evidence of both take-no-prisoners aggression and connoisseur-level refinement.  There’s still no finalized drop date but we’d expect them soon and with retailers in SE Asia already getting theirs, the US release should be right around the corner.  Click through to see more angles of the Slayer Dunk High SB and stick with Sneaker News for updates.  via ST

Sneaker News continues our broad preview of the Nike Sportswear Fall 2011 Footwear Collection, and we’ve got some more treats for the AF1 fan. The Nike Air Force 1 High ‘Duckboot’, which dropped earlier this year, was one of the more unique releases from NSW, as it transformed one of the most historic basketball shoes into a outdoor-ready, weather resistant pair of boots – a far cry from its origin. You can expect these two new colorways to drop this Fall 2011 season; the first features an earthy mix of brown and olive green which is paired with a full gum sole, and a second more sleeker variety, which achieves that notion thanks to a tonal black upper paired with a khaki beige toe.
