ShoeZeum Golden Ticket Tour Recap

Arguably one of the biggest sneaker stories of 2011 began when Sneaker News reported some interesting eBay auctions that featured massive groupings of Air Jordans, Nike SBs, and Air Max Runners at eyebrow-raising prices. It was clear that the man behind these controversial listings had a lot more in store, so the Sneaker News staff flew out to San Diego to get a firsthand look at the ‘million dollar collection’; what followed was a huge media blast for – the curator of the – as his collection was soon visited by some VIP guests and was featured on local news on both paper and on-screen. More internet attention soon followed from others, and Jordan put the cherry on top of this amazing ride by auctioning off five ‘Golden Ticket Tours‘ on eBay, in which winning bidders would get an exclusive tour of his ShoeZeum (with all proceeds going to the LIVESTRONG charity).

May 21st was the date to circle for the lucky winners (two of which were Brandon Renken and Lindsay Manford of  ’I Do’ Bespoke fame), who received a 2,000-pair chronological breakdown, as well as a neat surprise in the form of a DIY paint-splatter Dunk session. Other notable guests of the tour included Michael Leming, Chief Talent Scout at Nike, and Guinness, Jordan Geller’s ‘fierce’ King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, and loyal companion. If you were unable to win a golden ticket and get out to San Diego on your own, Sneaker News already covered all of the ShoeZeum goodness in our thorough feature from March/April, which you can recap here. Check out a gallery of photos after the jump for a visual overview of the ShoeZeum Golden Ticket Tour.

Air Jordan 2011 Quick Fuse White Varsity Royal

Among the first colorways to release this year was the white and Varsity Royal edition Dwyane Wade wore as a member of the Eastern Conference All-Stars.  Wade will probably be wearing his own kicks from here on in and since the NBA has been narrowed to four teams at this point, will we ever see the similarly-colored Air Jordan 2011 Quick Fuse hit the pro hardwood?  We might have to wait ’till next season to see anyone in the league wearing this super-clean Hyperfuse-ventilated release, but given the warm feel, they’re likely to release before the 2011-12 season begins in November.  Click through to see some other angles, let us know if you plan on buying a pair and stick with Sneaker News for more including the US release date.  via FatboyKickz

Air Jordan VI Tokyo23 Customs by Eric Lowry

The has proven to be a useful canvas for making Air Jordan customs. So far, we’ve seen customizers fashion the in ‘Bordeaux‘, ‘South Beach‘, ‘Hare‘, and ‘Orlando Magic‘ colorways, so here’s a look at yet another Air Jordan VI custom pair inspired by the Jordan Tokyo23 version of the Air Jordan V. Eric Lowry, who was responsible for the Air Jordan VI ‘South Beach’ customs, has painted the upper with the vibrant yellow paint and added special accents like the speckled black-on-yellow sections on the midsole to mimic the ‘Tokyo23′. Adding black laces and hitting the lace eyelet and Jumpman shroud on the tongue with grey adds an even more ‘T23′ feel, but Eric Lowry puts on some personal touches with a special logo on the heel as well as a ’1 of 10′ tab on the upper (guess how many of these will be made?). Check out the extra shots below and let us know what you think. via thedistinctlife.

Supra Skytop II Flag Pack

Never ones to miss out on an opportunity to commemorate a holiday, Supra is back with a two-pack that’ll be as popular at a summer BBQ as a sixer.  The Supra Skytop II ‘Flag Pack’ brings together two radically different colorways with an American flag motif, a striped look that goes quite nicely with the Skytop II’s tiered design.  The first edition is pretty straightforward: red and white stripes under a grey overlay that gives way to white Xs on a blue field to emulate the stars and bars, respectively.  But perhaps a better rendition of Supra as American rebel is the black/white ‘flag’ look that’s a set of neon laces away from looking like a Kaws-play.  Click through to see more angles and stick with Sneaker News for updates including the US release date.

Jordan CP3.IV Varsity Royal Black

Some of the best releases from Chris Paul’s Jordan Brand signature sneaker series over the years have been inspired by Air Jordan Legacy favorites, and if we were looking for an association, then this new release can certainly be seen as the ‘J-Pack’ Air Jordan CP3.IV.  This Varsity Royal and black colorup echoes the Air Jordan 1 colorway copied on a couple notable SB Dunk releases, but Paul’s fourth looks quite different than those predecessors thanks to a considerably more intricate blocking pattern.  Click through to see more angles of this upcoming CP3.IV colorway and stick with Sneaker News for new developments including the US release date.  via Dunk

Supreme x Vans Era May 2011

While their legacies aren’t exactly a 1:1 match, the two brands’ relative dominance in the streetwear scene on each coast and consistent quality collaborative releases mean Undefeated and Supreme will always be in any complete discussion of America’s top boutiques.  And while UNDFTD has been on a collabo tear with Puma of late, New York’s Supreme has set their sights ‘Off the Wall.  Check out what could be considered either the second (of two) or third (of four) significant Vans x Supreme packs this year, the Supreme x Vans Era.  This trio of classically styled lowtops gets a bit of extra oomph thanks to zebra-striped uppers plus a checkerboard print on each pair’s heels, a feature they share with another tag team effort we’ll show you shortly.  Click through to see more the Supreme x Vans Era and stick with Sneaker News for updates on this May 26th release.

Nike Air Force 1 Low Premium Grey Crinkled Patent

The tale of Nike Sportswear’s ‘True Colors’ Collection is a long and winding one that ends with you choosing your own ‘adventure’ from the ever expanding variety of models and colors.  It started all the way back in January, where the ‘CBF’ Air Max 90 bridged the gap between last year’s extensive ‘Nike Sportswear Six/True Colors’ super-collabo and a set of familiar models we came to know as the ‘White Pack’ thanks to their super-simple color schemes.  But then we saw the crinkled patent leather from the Dunk High of that set replicated on black and obsidian pairs, which is a good place to introduce this new Nike Air Force 1 Low Premium.  These new grey AF1s share that same uneven gloss and have us wondering how many more models might be on the way (and which colors?!).  Click through to see more angles and stick with Sneaker News for ongoing developments including the US release date.  via atmos

Air Jordan V Retro Quai 54 Edition | New Images

Last year’s Jordan Brand Quai 54 Streetball Tournament was a star-studded and action-packed event as the tournament, which featured special musical guests Fat Joe and NBA superstars Chris Paul, ended with the Paris streetball team taking the crown. This year’s festivities is slated to be just as fun-filled, thanks to the hype generated by the upcoming Air Jordan V ‘Quai 54′, which is set to release in limited numbers sometime soon. The White/Black/Radiant Green colorway appears to be the official banner colors for this year’s event, which leads us to wonder what other Jordan Brand footwear models will pop up because for the 2010 Quai 54, we saw a Jordan Team ISO as well as an Air Jordan 2010 surface in addition to the released Air Jordan IX. Check out these new images below and stick with Sneaker News for more Jordan Brand Quai 54 updates. via SneakerHotline.

Nike Zoom Kobe VI Camo Grey Blue Red

Camouflage print joins the ‘Pack’ squad thanks to the three camo-uppered Kobe VI colorways set to release very soon. We first showed you the Blue/Black/Yellow ‘Entourage’-ish colorway of the military-inspired design, followed by this version we showed you earlier this month, which combines superfluous tones of grey with black, royal blue, and a red Kobe logo on the tongue. It’s finished off with a Black/White midsole combination and a royal blue inner lining. No release has been set thus far, but MarqueeSole has a few pairs left for picking, so check out these new detailed images below and let us know: Which Kobe VI Pack is best – Camo, FC Barcelona, or LA?

NBA Feet: 2011 Playoffs Conference Finals Game 3 Recaps

It was Game 3 action over the past weekend, as both Conference Finals series switched venues to Oklahoma City and Miami. Both series were tied up at 1-1 heading into Game 3, giving two teams to either regain Home Court advantage or steal it away. Starting with the OKC/DAL series, the Mavericks, led once again by Dirk Nowitzki, managed to pull off a Road victory to avenge their Game 2 loss. A look at the kicks showed Kevin Durant wearing the Zoom KD III ‘Scoring Title’ Home PE for a portion of the game, Jason Terry in his Reebok Zig Slash PE, and Shawn Marion in the Air Max Fly By. Moving down South, Chris Bosh poured in 34 points to lead the Big Three to a Game 3 win. LeBron James, who contributed 22 points of his own, wore a PE colorway of the LeBron 8 P.S., which featured a white upper, a red midsole, and a yellow trim. Dwyane Wade wore the Jordan Fly Wade Home PE, Mike Bibby wore a new White/Red version of the Jordan Alpha 3 Percent, and Mike Miller wore the Air Max 360 BB Low. Check out the all the NBA Feet action from both Game 3s after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for more NBA Feet updates. via Yahoo!.

Nike SB Kobe x Koston 1 General Release Edition

When Sneaker News first showed you images of the Nike SB ‘Kobe x Koston’ Zoom Koston One, it was a part of a preview of the upcoming Koston One collection.  We mentioned that they’d been done up like the Zoom Kobe VI, and this attracted so much attention that you might have noticed a similarly colored pair right beside them in the group shot.  And if you would have squinted at that image, you would’ve gotten a small glimpse at the general release edition Kobe x Koston 1 we have to show you here today.  Instead of taking on the ZK6′s body, this version simply applies a scaly embossing on the suede of the Koston One’s natural lines and sprays on the Swoosh Kobe-style to complete the effect.  These should be considerably easier to get your hands upon (and far more affordable) than the full-on hybrid model that hit Nike Vault in a humidor box, so click through to see more images and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release date.  via Shoewolf

Nike Zoom Kobe VI Italian Camo New Images

Camouflage is defined as “concealment by means of disguise”, and though you can’t see Kobe Bryant in the NBA Playoffs, his new signature sneaker release pictured above might be a greater ‘disappearing act’.  The ‘Italian Camo’ Nike Zoom Kobe VI has set a new standard for camo basketball kicks, surpassing the earlier blue pair and most of the NIKEiD options we saw available for a short while, thanks to a more traditional palette plus vibrant Crimson accents.  The ZK6 in Italian Camo is set to hit select Nike Basketball retailers like Millennium Shoes on Saturday, June 4th, but you can pick up a pair early on eBay.
