A black and red Air Jordan XI would be an instant sell-out, correct? That might not be the exact case with the IE Lows, one of the few OG Jordans with a lukewarm following. It’s a lower-cut Air Jordan 11 with vents on the upper (which might’ve served as an inspiration for the design of the Air Jordan 2011 Quick Fuse) and tumbled leather, and although the design of the shoe is rather unique, it never really captured the universal love that most other Air Jordans get. In any case, the OG colorway (with a translucent black outsole) returns as will a few new colorways, so if you never got on that XI IE Low tip, this summer’s the perfect opportunity to do so. Check out these new detailed images courtesy of AGS and let us know if you have plans of adding these to your rotation. In fact, avoid the thought process and cop a pair now on eBay.

The Air Jordan Legacy is a story so perfect, not even the best Hollywood writers could have scripted it. Michael Jordan’s career path is unparalleled and his signature sneaker line set several standards, so it’s somewhat understandable that purists appear peeved when Jordan Brand ‘tampers’ with the classics. And while Fusions and other hybrids will always have their fair share of detractors, you can’t argue too hard against the execution of the Air Jordan 2.0. On one hand, it’s a perfectly replicated take on the model Mike wore during his first NBA Slam Dunk Contest victory, but on the other, you get the cutting-edge performance advantage from 360-degree Max Air. Click through to see more angles and look for the Air Jordan 2.0 at select JB retailers like West this Saturday or get yours right now on eBay.

Are we poised for a 2006 Finals rematch? Mark Cuban and Dirk Nowitzki want nothing more than to have another go against the Miami Heat after they lost the ’06 Finals in a six-game series that was rife with questionable calls by referees. Dirk Nowitzki (in the Nike Hyperdunk 2010) put up his second 40-point performance of the series while leading the Mavs to victory after a great comeback (15 points down, 5 minutes to go). The Thunder appeared to be ready to tie the series 2-2, but could not hold off the Dallas attack. Kevin Durant (Zoom KD III ‘Scoring Title’ Home PE) added 29 points and Russell Westbrook (Zoom Hyperfuse) contributed a near-triple-double, but in the end, their efforts were not enough and the Thunder are now on the brink of elimination. The hottest trend in customs at the moment by a wide margin is the reappropriation of classic colorways on new models. To be fair, companies like Nike Sportswear have been doing this for ages, but there’s no denying that in recent weeks we’ve seen a ton of color swaps in the Sneaker News ‘Customs’ category. And for whatever reason, one of the most popular models to get the makeover touch is the Air Jordan VI Retro. The AJ6 is a classic in its own right, the shoe Michael Jordan wore when he won his first championship and a design so distinctive that Supra practically owes royalties for the Skytop II. The Air Jordan 6 takes a backseat to no sneaker, so when it’s combined with the ‘Cool Grey’ Air Jordan XI look, you’ve got a bonafide burner. MizzeeCustoms‘ latest work might not be his most intricate in terms of colorblocking, but he went so far as to use a glossy paint to mimick the AJXI’s patent leather, which pushes this one over the top. Click through to see more and let us know how these compare to all the other colorway homage custom sneakers we’ve seen of late.

It’s been overshadowed by its predecessor and the rest of the Nike (Air) Trainer series in recent years and a retro release was only teased when Nike Sportswear crafted the Auto Trainer hybrid, but the Nike Air Trainer SC II is finally back within reaching distance. We’ve seen the bred and Chlorine Blue editions hit retail shelves in recent weeks and now it’s time for a model that’s releasing without so much as a preview showing. But for Trainer fans, the SC II in white and Club Purple is love at first sight, so click through to see a few more shots and grab yours today from NikeStore.

Plenty of male sneakerheads were jealous when they saw the dope Neutral Grey Nike Air Max 90 for women with Glacier Blue accents that released last month, but quell your disappointment, classic runner lovers! Check out the latest Air Max 90 in mens sizes; it’s done with a similar color scheme, though the contrast of Medium Grey leather to Neutral Grey mesh makes for a darker overall look. It’s a welcome shift, and along with Obsidian laces serves to give these a considerably more masculine feel. You can see some other angles when you click on the jump below and then head over to Finish Line to grab yours today.

We showed you the Supreme x Vans Era earlier today, and regular Sneaker News readers might have been able to guess immediately upon seeing those pairs that the ‘other’ checkerboard-heeled team-up on tap would be hitting retailers soon too. And just like the packs of Old Skools and Mike Carrolls they released back in March, New York’s Supreme will drop their Vans Chukka collaboration on the same day as the Eras. May 26th will be a great day for Off the Wall fans, this quintet of monochromatic colorups providing a subdued alternative to the Eras’ wild appearance. Click through to see more of these and let us know which pair is your favorite.

After a certain point in its life, an Air Jordan shoe is no longer a wearable item, but a displayable piece of art that exemplifies a sneaker’s ability to capture beauty and architectural genius. That’s why sneakerheads today spend thousands of dollars on items that no longer serve their initial purpose because they’ve transformed into something bigger and better. One collector overseas has decided to part with his 21-piece art gallery – that is, 21 pairs of OG Air Jordans from Air Jordan 1 to Air Jordan VIII, all with their original boxes. Check out what he’s got for sale after the jump and let us know what sort of sneaker displays you’ve got at your crib, and if you want to see what the asking price for this 21-pair mega-lot is, check out the auction from airalex23 on eBay.

Sneaker News ended last week with a big bang thanks to a look at an unreleased blue suede-uppered Air Jordan V Retro. Here’s a better look at one of our biggest stories last week; again, we see the rich blue suede taking over the entire upper, paired with a light grey trim on the lace eyelets as well as the tongue, and a light ice blue tone on the inner lining and laces. Could these possibly be a women’s release? The light blue pigment gives the blue suede upper a slight purple-ish hue, which may be a better fit for the lady Jordanheads. Continue reading for another detailed look at this unreleased blue sample of the Air Jordan V and let us know what you think. via YungDrSeuss.

During the build-up and aftermath of the phenomenon that was 2009′s Nike Air Yeezy, Sneaker News showed you the a variety of design drawings, revisions and prototypes of Kanye West’s first Nike collaboration. The upcoming Air Yeezy II has gotten most of the attention lately, but we can’t miss out on going back to the original to see a sample that Mark Fatlace says will “never see the light of day.” This model looks to be most similar to the Net/Net edition but with a (Zen?) grey midfoot strap and with a yellow-accented midsole that didn’t make it to retail on any version. And while these are some substantial differences, the biggest single change might be to the tongue lining where a paisley print had once occupied a piece of silky fabric that would have fit in with Reebok’s Prince Pack. Click through to see some more angles and let us know how this nixed Air Yeezy compares to the official releases, and stick with Sneaker News for updates on the Nike Air Yeezy II. via CJL
