Sneakerpedia, the world’s first user-generated online sneaker encyclopedia, made its debut launch last night in New York City, with hundreds of sneakerheads from around the world attending the celebratory event. Hosted by Mayor of the ATF Crew, the Sneakerpedia NYC Launch Event was filled with a jovial atmosphere thanks to friendly encounters, mutual admirations of sneakers, and live music courtesy of DJ Clark Kent and Bun B (the open bar didn’t hurt, either). Eventgoers also had the opportunity to submit their own sneakers to Sneakerpedia at computer stations while entering for a chance to win a year’s worth of sneakers. Continue reading for a nice recap of the event with a special focus on the sick sneakers (plenty of Bespokes, rare Air Jordans, and Air Max heat) and let us know which sneaker was the king of the Sneakerpedia NYC Launch Event!

By just his fourth season, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant has managed to lead a young, relatively inexperienced squad to the Western Conference Finals. In his Western Conference Finals debut, Durant displayed the reason why he won his second straight scoring title by dropping forty points, but the older, wiser, and more experienced Dirk Nowitzki countered with 48 points of his own, leading his Dallas Mavericks to a Game 1 victory. In the losing effort, Durant wore the Nike Zoom KD III ‘Scoring Title’ Away PE, a sneaker we previewed yesterday. Does Durant have more 40-point outings left in him for the remainder of the series? Check out the Durant and his Zoom KD IIIs after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for more NBA Feet coverage. via Yahoo!.

Now that Dwyane Wade’s comfortably rocking his first Jordan Brand signature sneaker, what will happen to the latest iteration of the Air Jordan 2011? With the field narrowed to four teams, we might not see the Air Jordan 2011 Quick Fuse in any more NBA Feet columns for the rest of the season, but it shouldn’t be too terribly much longer before they make their way to retailers. This first colorway is a speckled section or two away from an ‘Oreo’ look with its simple white/black design, and you can see more up-close images when you click on the jump below. via in52

Its release coming on the heels of the Year of the Rabbit special edition and just a couple months after the long-awaited Bordeaux retro, the Air Jordan VII ‘Cardinal’ finds itself in the strange position of possibly coming in second in both OG AJ7 colorways and those crafted in white leather plus red and gold accents. But make no mistake, even though the Cardinal Air Jordan 7 was just released in 2006, the 2011 retro is bound to be among the summer’s top sellers. Japanese retailers like mita sneakers are already taking pre-orders and they’re slated to hit US store shelves next month so click through to see a fresh round of photos and stick with Sneaker News in case we find them before the June 18th release date.

Team-related colorways typically come in pairs, so when Sneaker News first showed you the Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘FC Barcelona’ in the Bright Mango colorway, you might’ve guessed that another more familiar FC Barcelona colorway was on its way. Not much later, we showed you this Kobe VI version of the FC Barcelona Pack, which features a blue/gold/wine red colorway that is taken right from the recognizable FC Barcelona Home kit. The most notable feature of this colorway is the bold-striped inner lining, which is clearly taken from the ‘Home’ uniforms worn by FC Barcelona, and the FC Barcelona crest stamped on the inner face of the tongue. Continue reading for another look at the ‘Home’ colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI FC Barcelona Pack and watch for these at select Nike Basketball retailers in Europe now. via NT.

What would it be like to go shopping at your local mall and find out that you can right there on the spot grab a couple limited edition colorways from Jordan Brand’s lightest signature basketball sneaker ever? That seems to have happened to in select cities where Foot Locker’s House of Hoops specialty locations have started offering two Air Jordan Fly Wade exclusives. The first is between May’s general release and Dwyane’s playoff PEs, a black and red look that sees its distinguishing red ankle collar light up thanks to reflective 3M. Another pair with the same blocking comes out of left field with its blue accents, which seems fitting given the overall surprise of this release. Click through to see more images and let us know if you were able to find these at your local House of Hoops. via NT

It’s generally accepted that A Bathing Ape’s Bape Sta is a direct takeoff on the Nike Air Force 1 Low. All it really takes is one look to see the AF1′s silhouette and sole, so when you see the Bape Sta Mil Low, you might do a double take. The classic two-piece sole remains but resting atop is anything but Uptown, this model switching to a nearly one-piece canvas upper with an eye-placket blocked off by the same piping that runs along your ankle. And it’s on the lateral side of that line where you’ll meet a black/red crest and realize Bape still has plenty of tricks up its sleeve. Click through to see more and stick with Sneaker News for updates.

The Dallas Mavericks made sure we won’t be seeing any Nike Zoom Kobe VI NBA Finals PEs, so with the coming absence of Kobe Bryant sightings in our NBA Feet feature, it seems fitting that the newest ZK6 colorway is another camouflage look. Here’s a closer look at the ‘Italian Camo’ Zoom Kobe VI, now the third camo ZK6 we’ve seen (not to mention the limited run on NIKEiD), and the one that’s probably the most ‘natural’ looking. In fact, they bear a slight resemblance to the legendary Brian Anderson x Nike SB Dunk High thanks to the earthy mix and the way their Crimson Swoosh leans toward orange in these images. Click through to see more, let us know how these rank against the other camouflage Kobe VIs and stick with Sneaker News for new developments including the US release date.

Each of the Air Jordan Sky High Retro Low releases we’ve seen so far has offered a single color on its upper plus a white midsole and the latest is no different. This new Sky High Low is built of the same materials as the Varsity Red pair we showed you on Monday except for its use of a white contrast stitch on the Victory Green canvas uppers. This plus the lightly freyed Swoosh helps these carve out their own little niche within the relatively simple range, so will you be rocking green kicks this summer? Click through to see some more angles and if you like what you see you’ll find these at Jordan Brand retailers like FinishLine.
