Consider this piece of sneaker art five years in the making. Emmanuelabor, a name you should be familiar with by now, had this ‘Constructicons’ idea for a pair of Nike Air Force 1 Lows he customized back in 2006, and decided to give it another go with the Nike Air Penny III ‘Eggplant’. Adding a lime green upper, a red swoosh, and a metallic Decepticons logo in place of the Air Penny 1-cent logo, Emmanuelabor’s vision was complete. The Constructicons were a group of Decepticons that, when joined together, created the Devastator, which is the actual inspiration behind this custom project. It’s one that’s been well executed front to back, so check out the additional images of Emmanuelabor’s Air Penny III ‘Constructicons’ custom below and let us know what you think.

“Sky looks grey in London city/we stay graftin’ cos we’re gritty,” was an explanation from Dizzee Rascal on why he had to constantly hustle in the LDN. But how about getting back to the root of the expression ‘hustle’ with a new release from Nike Running whose subtle colorway matches the British rapper’s line? The Nike Free Run+2 is getting underway in five of the world’s major metropolises thanks to the City Pack Quickstrikes, this London edition flipping the above quoted line to make it something like running barefoot on (Free-grooved) clouds when you slip on the wheat colorup with its speckled grey soles. Kobe Bryant wanted to keep playing basketball into June, but it looks like the closest he’ll get to a championship this year is if FC Barcelona can win their UEFA Champions League final against Manchester United on May 28th. But luckily, you won’t have to wait until then to get the Barca-inspired Nike Zoom Kobe VI FC Barcelona Pack, because London’s House of Hoops will get theirs tomorrow. The Bright Mango pair had already hit NikeStore UK last week, but if you weren’t able to get those and/or want the blue pair as well, now’s the time to make your plans. Click through to see some new images and stick with Sneaker News for any word on a US release date, although at the moment, it’s looking like these will in fact be limited to select Euro retailers.

In an NBA season during which the big headlines were overtaken by big-name free agents and trades and talks of three-peats in LA, Kevin Durant quietly led the OKC Thunder to the Western Conference Finals, earning the league’s scoring title for the second straight season. To commemorate Durant’s milestone achievement, Nike will outfit one of its Big Three with a Scoring Title PE colorway of the Nike Zoom KD III in a black, blue, and yellow colorway, featuring a unique etched graphic on the upper that’s a lot more controlled than it haphazardly appears. Look closely and you’ll see a number of names and numbers ingrained into the graphic, like Barry Farms, where KD performed some legendary performances, and ‘Chucky’, a former coach who helped shape Durant’s superstar career. Durant will be wearing this Away colorway in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals so stick with Sneaker News for release info and an NBA Feet feature!

Earlier today Sneaker News showed you the Nike Air Max Griffey Fury, a refreshed take on the popular Nike Air Diamond Fury from Ken Griffey Jr’s signature line. It’s a growing trend in Beaverton, OR – taking classic models with celebrated designs and revamping them with contemporary technology, and like the Air Max Griffey Fury, the upcoming Air Max Barkley is a prime example of that movement. Here’s a look at the Air Max Barkley, which features the Air Max2 CB ’94 silhouette refinished with a one-piece composite upper with Hyperfuse and the unaltered Max Air cushioned outsole. In addition, these three new colorways seem to follow Charles Barkley timeline as an NBA pro (White/Old Royal-Gym Red for the Sixers, Black/Safety Orange-Pure Purple for the Suns, Action Red/Black-White for the Rockets). The Air Max Barkley is set for a release for the Spring 2012 season with a price-tag o $130. Would you have preferred these colorways on the original model? Check out all three below and let us know what you think. via CK.

Wolf Grey down, three more to go (or four if you count the kids). It’s been quite a year for the last shoe Michael Jordan wore as a player who hadn’t yet captured his first championship, and the Air Jordan V Retro is hungry for more success, this quintessential summer look poised to pop up everywhere someone’s rocking white sneakers. It’s a shame there’s no major international basketball tournament where we could see a USAB baller like Ray Allen break these out but don’t be shocked if you see a few pairs un-DSed in London next year. Luckily, we won’t have to wait to get ours longer than the July release date, so click through to see more and stick with Sneaker News for updates. via in52

Here’s another viewing of the Air Jordan 1 ‘Banned’ in the Black/Varsity Red colorway. The upper features a distressed leather material, which gives the shoe a decades-old vintage feel, alluding to the infamous banning of Michael’s signature sneaker by the NBA. A hefty fine was placed on Michael’s shoulders for each game her wore the shoes, but Nike took care of that burden and urged Michael to continue wearing the shoes. The ‘Banned’ version here features the red ‘X’ painted over the heel logo as well as a special insole, lace-tips, and miniature ‘X’ graphics on the inner lining. This sample you see here is a ‘B-Grade’ version (a Nike product with a minor factory defect) and was recently sold online. After checking out the new images, take a look at the final selling price of this auction from jayc414 on eBay.

Nike SB has been on a tear in 2011 and that even manifested itself physically on the Cheech & Chong Dunk High SB, but here’s another high profile release you’ll want to treat with a bit more care. The Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Space Jam’ probably won’t rank high on the list of most-skated Dunk SB releases, but in terms of nailing the inspiration and getting a ton of buzz which is likely to lead to a near-instant sellout, then this one’s right on target. Will the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Space Jam’ make 2011′s Sneaker News Top 30 like its muse? Only time will tell, but if you wait too long you’ll find yourself out of luck with these, so consider locking up a pair ahead of the retail date from SneakerHotline.

The Black/Electric Green motif has been a popular one across Nike Basketball and Jordan Brand releases. We’ve seen the ‘reverse’ of this colorway release in Foamposite Pro form, and Jordan Brand has plans to release a Black/Neo Lime colorway of the Air Jordan 2011 in early June (barring yet another release date change). The Foamposite One version features a tonal black upper with translucent electric green on the outsole – a colorway similar to the ‘Cactus’ colorway that dropped just a few years ago. Will this redundant colorway make these less popular than it should? The ‘Cough Drop’ Foamposite One, which is essentially the same as the Black/Varsity Red Foamposite One that released alongside the aforementioned ‘Cactus’ colorway, is currently mired in clearance racks across the nation. Regardless of how familiar the Black/Electric Green colorway is, the excitement has been mounting, so check out these images below andgrab a pair now from Osneaker.

By this point in history, Ken Griffey Jr. is probably most strongly associated with the Nike Air Max Griffey 1, but that wasn’t his first Swoosh signature. A year before those hit stores along with the ‘Griffey in 96′ campaign, the Air Diamond Fury brought a swooping, flowy vamp that remains one of the great basetball cleat designs of all time. Now fast forward seventeen years to the next spring when the Nike Air Max Griffey Fury updates this overlooked classic and adds a 360-degree Max Air cushion a la the Air Max JR. The upper will also get an update with a synthetic and mesh construction replacing the classic two-toned nubuck. One of the rarest Air Jordan samples ever created is this Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’ that surfaced in 1999. It features the vibrant Infrared pigment spanning the entire midsole (opposed to just the small portions above the Air window and forefoot) as w well as on the Nike Air stitching on the heel. These samples were at one point intended to be the released version of the 2000 Retro release of the Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’, but obviously Jordan Brand decided to keep things true to the original and release it with the the original color-blocking on the midsole. Today, these samples fetch a pretty penny and has landed in the hands of the most dedicated of Air Jordan collectors and connoisseurs, but here’s your chance to own a pair for yourself. Continue reading for another look at this storied and infamous Air Jordan sample and check out the asking price from bugginoutboy on eBay.
