Celebrity Feet: Bun B Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke Space Jam

Bun B’s live performance was one of the main highlights of last night’s Sneakerpedia NYC Launch Event. Many attendees showed up wearing their most prized kicks, and Bun B was no exception as we was on stage wearing the Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke that he designed after the Air Jordan XI Space Jam. Bun B’s Bespoke, which features a black patent leather and mesh upper with a white midsole and translucent outsole, received wide praise particularly for its topical design (he designed them just before the release of the Space Jams). Check out Bun B and his fresh Bespokes after the jump and let us know what you think.

Air Jordan V White Red Obsidian | New Images

The red/white/blue patriotic motif is rather common in sneakers (particularly around Independence Day), but not so much with Air Jordans. In fact, USA flag-inspired colorways of Air Jordans are few and far in-between mainly because Jordan Brand didn’t stray too far from the Bulls-centric colorways and other themes familiar with MJ’s lifestyle. Over the last two years, that notion has changed, and you can surely expect a lot more colorways of Retro Jordans, like this upcoming White/Varsity Red-Obsidian colorway that is set for a July release. A white patent leather upper is matched with a two-toned midsole of Obsidian and Varsity Red, with a Obsidian blue inner lining. Osneaker has a pre-order for these available right now so if you don’t want to risk missing out, head there to reserve yours, or grab a pair now on eBay.

Air Jordan V Retro Black Metallic Silver | Detailed Images

Michael Jordan debuted the Air Jordan V during the 1990 NBA All-Star Game, wearing the exact same colorway you see here (sans ’23′ stitching on the heel). Jordan and the Eastern Conference All-Stars easily defeated the Western Conference by a 17-point margin thanks to Michael’s 17 point, 5 rebound, 5 steal, and 2 assist performance, but the MVP trophy for that game went to a player on the losing side (Magic Johnson, just the third overall instance in which the MVP was given to a player on the losing team). Michael would continue to wear the Air Jordan V in the Black/Metallic Silver colorway throughout the remainder of the regular season and during the Playoffs. The irony behind the excitement of this upcoming release is that many of those who are eagerly anticipating these Jordans weren’t even alive when MJ rocked them, but that goes to show just how powerful the Air Jordan legacy is. Check out these new images below and let us know if you plan on grabbing these once they drop this August. via kickslab.

Jordan Brand Signs Maya Moore

With Dwyane Wade now wearing his first Jordan Brand signature sneaker, we’ve been curious who might take over the Air Jordan 2011 duties and when/if the AJ2011 Quick Fuse will see the NBA hardwood.  Perhaps the answer to both of those queries lies in JB’s first female signing, former UConn star Maya Moore.  Moore was only the second woman in NCAA history to earn first team All-American honors in each of hour four years at Storrs and now she’ll be wearing the Jumpman as a member of the Minnesota Lynx.  Click through for more, let us know what you think of Maya Moore’s signing and stick with Sneaker News for the latest from Jordan Brand.

Sneakerpedia NYC Launch Event Recap

Sneakerpedia, the world’s first user-generated online sneaker encyclopedia, made its debut launch last night in New York City, with hundreds of sneakerheads from around the world attending the celebratory event. Hosted by Mayor of the ATF Crew, the Sneakerpedia NYC Launch Event was filled with a jovial atmosphere thanks to friendly encounters, mutual admirations of sneakers, and live music courtesy of DJ Clark Kent and Bun B (the open bar didn’t hurt, either). Eventgoers also had the opportunity to submit their own sneakers to Sneakerpedia at computer stations while entering for a chance to win a year’s worth of sneakers. Continue reading for a nice recap of the event with a special focus on the sick sneakers (plenty of Bespokes, rare Air Jordans, and Air Max heat) and let us know which sneaker was the king of the Sneakerpedia NYC Launch Event!

NBA Feet: Kevin Durant Nike Zoom KD III Scoring Title Away PE

By just his fourth season, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant has managed to lead a young, relatively inexperienced squad to the Western Conference Finals. In his Western Conference Finals debut, Durant displayed the reason why he won his second straight scoring title by dropping forty points, but the older, wiser, and more experienced Dirk Nowitzki countered with 48 points of his own, leading his Dallas Mavericks to a Game 1 victory. In the losing effort, Durant wore the Nike Zoom KD III ‘Scoring Title’ Away PE, a sneaker we previewed yesterday. Does Durant have more 40-point outings left in him for the remainder of the series? Check out the Durant and his Zoom KD IIIs after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for more NBA Feet coverage. via Yahoo!.

Air Jordan 2011 Quick Fuse White Black New Images

Now that Dwyane Wade’s comfortably rocking his first Jordan Brand signature sneaker, what will happen to the latest iteration of the Air Jordan 2011?  With the field narrowed to four teams, we might not see the Air Jordan 2011 Quick Fuse in any more NBA Feet columns for the rest of the season, but it shouldn’t be too terribly much longer before they make their way to retailers.  This first colorway is a speckled section or two away from an ‘Oreo’ look with its simple white/black design, and you can see more up-close images when you click on the jump below.  via in52

Air Jordan VII Retro Cardinal 2011 Detailed Images

Its release coming on the heels of the Year of the Rabbit special edition and just a couple months after the long-awaited Bordeaux retro, the Air Jordan VII ‘Cardinal’ finds itself in the strange position of possibly coming in second in both OG AJ7 colorways and those crafted in white leather plus red and gold accents.  But make no mistake, even though the Cardinal Air Jordan 7 was just released in 2006, the 2011 retro is bound to be among the summer’s top sellers.  Japanese retailers like mita sneakers are already taking pre-orders and they’re slated to hit US store shelves next month so click through to see a fresh round of photos and stick with Sneaker News in case we find them before the June 18th release date.
