How do you feel about Jordan Brand updating the Air Jordan Legacy models?  By definition, a purist is going to have a contrarian view when it comes to anything newfangled or revamped, but the latest example is considerably closer to its source than your average hybrid.  In fact, the Air Jordan 2.0 adding a full-length Max Air cushion to a model that debuted in 1986 is so natural that plenty have voiced their excitement in advance of this weekend’s initial release.  The AJ2.0 is set for retail in the ‘Quarterfinals’ colorway that saw a retro release last spring and you can see a round of new images when you click on the jump below.  They’re going to be in stores like Extra Butter tomorrow, May 28th but you can already find pairs available on eBay.

MTV began filming of the fourth season of Jersey Shore not long ago, and cast-member Ronnie already garnered attention in the gossip spotlight as he was allegedly involved in fisticuffs with fellow house-mate ‘The Situation’. While Ronnie’s character has been under heat, he’s also been in heat, because he’s enjoying his time in Florence rocking some sweet Air Jordans. Ronnie’s been seen wearing general release Nikes and Jordans during the first seasons, but he’s apparently been bit by the Air Jordan bug because so far, he’s been rocking the Air Jordan XI (both Space Jam and Concord), the Air Jordan VII Bordeaux, Air Jordan XIII from the Collezione Package, the Air Jordan IX Citrus, and even threw in some Infrared Spiz’ikes. The upcoming release of the OG-esque ‘Blue Spark’ colorway should have Air Max 95 fans excited, but check out this (you guessed it) JD-exclusive colorway of the 95, featuring a number of unique details that you may not instantly recognize. The upper mesh isn’t sheer like the other 95 releases, as it completely hides the lace-hoops underneath it, and the inner lining of this pair features a synthetic leather lining for a premium and luxurious fit. The more obvious detail is the metallic silver stripe on the uppermost panel of the gradient and the blue-bordered metallic silver swoosh in its customary position. If Gilbert Arenas rocked Air Max 95s for one of his games, these would be it, but you can rock them whenever you please because UK’s JDSports has them available now.

‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan was inducted into wrestling’s hall of fame this year despite a career entirely leveraged upon carrying two distinctive props.  Hacksaw might be more singularly associated with the ‘U-S-A U-S-A’ chant than any other man in history, and it’s rare to see his patriotic fervor replicated on a sneaker design.  But that’s just what you get with the new Supra Skytop II ‘Flag Pack’, a duo that includes two X’d out stars-and-bars designs.  One comes in the expected red, white and blue, a model you might consider the babyface to a black/white edition’s heel.  It’s more a choice of which fits your style than a battle between good and evil, but it’s worth the fight to get one of the limited run when both become available at SNS in less than 24 hours.

Tinie Tempah was both a performer and attendee at KIIS FM’s 10th Annual American Idol Finale viewing party, an event in which he performed live on stage and mingled with fellow musicians. Tempah’s casual attire matched the easy-going nature of the party, as his salmon pink t-shirt and blue jeans matched his Air Jordan III White/Cement for a simple ensemble that could be worn any day of the week. The last Tinie Tempah sightning on Sneaker News was actually the artist’s first such appearance on this site, as he caught our attention by wearing the Black colorway from the Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared Pack’ that dropped last year. With the help of Carmelo Anthony, the New York Knicks solidified their Playoffs spot in the Eastern Conference and grabbed the sixth overall seed. During that first-round series against the Boston Celtics, Carmelo Anthony debuted the Jordan Melo M7 Advance, his signature M7 remastered with lightweight performance technology like Flywire. The first Black/Metallic Silver-White colorway features a ‘Space Jam‘-esque motfif, using a tonal black upper, white midsole, and translucent outsole, but a closer look reveals faux-carbon fiber on the Flywire panels for added stability, and of course, the visible Max Air.
