Kohatsu takes us on an inside look at the process of creating Hyperfuse, including an in-depth examination of how Hyperfuse construction eschews traditional stitching and gluing in favor of a heat bonding process that results in a one-piece upper. It’s a natural place for Nike Sportswear Innovation head Ben Shaffer to come in and explain the virtues of the material with regard to its aesthetics. Shaffer describes how the Hyperfuse’s unique translucent layers allows a huge variety of gradients and requires a different mindset when planning a colorway.
