It’s been quite a while since adidas Basketball introduced the Pilrahna line. So long in fact, that Sneaker News has never profiled a pair, but that changes today with this new model. The adidas Pilrahna 5 features some of the most audacious styling we’ve seen on a basketball sneaker in the last decade, their toothy midsoles as aggressive as the most turf-hungry trainers. But longtime fans will remember the Pilrahna as one of Gilbert Arenas‘ pre-Gil Zero line, and their strappy uppers offer a link to the series’ rich, if obscure, history.
