Air Jordan Retros can be considered a consumer phenomenon because those who pay the hundreds of dollars per pair tend to complain about a wide variety of issues. Build quality, use of materials, and the ‘true-to-the-original’ factor are all legitimate gripes, but one that we should put to rest is the debate regarding the shoe branding. That is, the use of the symbolic ‘Nike Air’ logos on the heels – particularly that of the Air Jordan III and IV. Dating back to 2003, all the AJ3 and AJ4 releases have had the Jumpman logo, but since then Air Jordans have fallen under the independent Jordan Brand label, making the switch from Nike Air to Jumpman logo all the more sensible.
Using the logo from a pair of 1999 Retro Air Jordan IVs, dkonstantinos of NT created a base template to use on each of his subjects – the Air Jordan III ‘Fire Red’ of 2007, the Air Jordan IV ‘CDP’ of 2008, and the Air Jordan III White/Cement of 2011. The Jumpman heel logos were shaved off and replaced with half-millimeter thick plastic and painted with customization paint to complete the customization from Retro to OG. Your thoughts? this is impressive, and makes the shoe look a lot better in my opinion. even though the quality is bad, i think JB should go back to nike air. it looks so much better

As for "Nike-Air", to me it doesn't really matter. I like to leave those on the older models, it backs up the Grail status they have. I know Jordan will never put Nike-Air back on the shoes so, I don't trip everytime I see a jumpman, It doesn't bother me.

a great, affordable way to get the OG look! and then at least you can rock em. to be honest, I would buy because I don't have enough money to pay 700 for a DS rockable pair. but this will probably piss alot of people who actually have nike retros and OGs (I have one pair of white cement 4s) so this probably isn't a good idea. But I like it.

I think if JB starts seeing people change there retro's to look like OG's. Then they might change the logo back to the Nike Air. I personally could never do this though. I'd have to double up. And pay someone to do this for me.

The resault is not perfect , the emblem is to shiny , I guess I have to repaint it and fix some details… I did all this just for nostalgia reasons ( I was a little child back in the day) and for FUN!! I think I wanted to enjoy the "trip" not the "destination"..Best regards from Greece!!

I'm a 80s baby so I remember when they had the Nike Air logo and orange tag hanging off the side of the shoe, and YES I would like for JB to bring it back for the 3s, 4s. 5s, and 6s, that Nike Air logo just made them look dope boy fresh LOL. At the same time I have a degree in Marketing and understand that it will never happen due to branding and rights. I guess you would of had to of grew up in that era to trully appreciate that infamous Nike Air. With that said NO I would never have it customized on my retro's, If JB/NIKE don't do it…..then Jumpman logo it is.
