Almost two years ago Sneaker News showed you one of the most impressive vintage collections of Nikes and Air Jordans that some of you may have never known existed. One of the most interesting pairs in his stash was a pair of Nikes made for legendary musician Elton John, a shoe that dates back to the late 70’s-early 80’s era. Nike made a few more special editions of its Nike runners for musicians, like this vintage Nike Road Runner (which debuted in 1979) made for Jefferson Starship, a rock band that enjoyed its peak in popularity in the early 1980’s. This navy/silver pair of the Road Runner features ‘STAR’ and ‘SHIP’ on the heel-tabs in a ‘futuristic’ typefont typically seen on the band’s album artwork. Check out the images of this rare vintage Nike gem after the jump and check out the current bid price of the auction from lo71 on eBay.
