Nike Sportswear has offered a variety of updates to their classic running lineup, from Free soles and Flywire to Foamposite and Hyerfuse, but it’s rare to see a model ‘downgraded’. That’s not a statement on the quality of the Nike Air Max R4, but rather its chronology, the classic Shox R4 runner pared with the wraparound 180-degree Max Air cushion that debuted nearly a decade before we heard the first ‘Boing!’. But if you were to be a stickler, this is actually the Shox R4 atop the Air Max LTD/Air Max Wright‘s tooling, which means the above pictured model did indeed draw on a later design for this mashup.
