Mark Gonzales is one of skateboarding’s true OGs, a guy who’s been kicking and pushing for over a quarter century and remains one of the sport’s luminary figures.  His latest release from adidas Skateboarding has a look so classic it could have just as easily been on his feet during that fateful day at Embarcadero when he was tricked into ollieing a gap so big it now bears his name.  The same cannot be said of the adidas adi Ease‘s model name, though its Satellite Blue silhouette bears the legend’s name in gold on its lateral sides.  Click through for more views and look for these at select adidas Skate accounts like Premier.

The Converse Star Tech debuted all the way back in 1984, its initial colorways endorsed by Larry Bird, Julius Erving and Magic Johnson.  This summer, some twenty-seven years after its introduction, this silhouette will be reborn like so many other classic basketball designs before it.  The Converse Startech LE is set to drop early next month (July 1st, to be exact) with a revamped EVA cupsole and new colorblocking options.  Hanon will have them and reports that there are two tonal black and grey colorups on the way, and you can see more of the first one when you click on the jump below.

Part Air Max, part Lunarlon, all classic Swoosh design. What’s not to love? The Air Max Lunar is a crazy combo between the two most revered sole cushioning technologies in Nike’s repertoire. In the heel section you see the the classic visible air bag, which then gives way to the ultra-lightweight Lunar sole of the forefoot. This new cool grey looking colorway of the exciting hybrid comes in a nice mix of calm colors on the upper, accented by the occasional yellow pop as seen on the swoosh and in various parts of the sole. Big Sean was the guest of honor at the adidas retail store in Lower Manhattan, New York, where he received two special personalized pairs of the adidas Superstar as well as a neat adidas Superstar silver chain. The crowd turnout was amazing, as hundreds of fans showed up to see the hip-hop act and to get free tickets to his album release party. After receiving his special gifts from adidas, Big Sean took to the streets and engaged his fans while standing atop a van, all while wearing a black/white pair of adidas Superstars. One way to rejuvenate an old classic is to give it a refreshed point of view. The Air Max2 CB ’94 certainly falls under the category of ‘Classics’, and for Spring 2012, Nike has plans to push it further with the Air Max Barkley, a sneaker previously featured on Sneaker News. Not long ago we showed you the ‘Action Red’ sample of the Air Max Barkley, so here’s a look at a second Spring 2012 release – the White/Old Royal-Gym Red colorway. While not a direct tribute, the White/Royal/Red combination is a throwback to Barkley’s days in Philadelphia, where he spent eight successful years. We’ll have to wait two more years for the Air Jordan V to turn the magical age of 23, but 2011 is the 21st birthday for Jordan’s fifth shoe – an age that we all consider to be a lifetime milestone. We should expect more Air Jordan V releases in 2013, but 2011 hasn’t been too shabby. In fact, here’s a mini-tribute to the Air Jordan V, showcasing some of the biggest retro releases past and present like the yet-to-release Air Jordan V Quai 54, and the 2000 Retro releases that featured ‘Nike Air’ on the heel. New York Yankees ace C.C. Sabathia started the 2011 season off in style, pitching from the Yankees Stadium mound on opening day wearing a cleated player exclusive Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’.  Sabathia seems to be a huge fan of the Elevens, having also pitched in the ‘Cool Grey’ and ‘Space Jam’ editions, but all of those have had metal spikes attached to their soles.  Here’s a look at a model that C.C. would be more likely to wear while preparing for a game, the Air Jordan XI Turf Trainer.  These babies take the Concord upper and pair it with a spikey turf sole like the ones that have typified Nike turf trainers since the mid-’90s (and also appeared on Sabathia’s AJF5 PEs).  Click through for a closer view and let us know how these compare to the other baseball and football cleat versions of the Air Jordan 11 we’ve seen here on Sneaker News.  via Jordans Daily

The Nike Air Max 2011 is the culmination of decades and millions of dollars spent on research and development to come up with the world’s leading running shoe.  Fitting, then, that this latest AM2011 comes in a colorway reminiscent of the greatest athlete who ever donned the Swoosh, a ‘Raging Bull’ of a Sport Red getup with black and Metallic Silver accents.  They’re blocked pretty similarly to the 2009 Air Jordan V referenced above, though the use of Hyperfuse instead of suede underlines the evolution of this series over its quarter-century of dominance.  Click through to see more angles of the Sport Red Air Max 2011 and grab yours today from NikeStore.

It’s been a good year for Charles Barkley fans on the footwear side of things, with his signature Nike Air Max CB34‘s getting a few nice releases now that they’ve finally been let out of the vault. This shoe was a staple of 90′s basketball design, with its staggered air bubbles on the sole kit and indented Barkely accenting. The hot releases continue with this upcoming House of Hoops exclusive, a monochrome obsidian colorway done up in patent leather, a first for the Sir Charles signature shoe. The deep tone on these is just a few shades off from the purple of the Suns uniforms, so it might be time to bring that Barkley jersey out of the closet The glossy look puts the Nike Air Max CB34 in a totally different context, giving them a sort of luxury feel.
