New colorways of the Nike Air Max 90 are never a bad thing, especially when summer time rolls around. The sunny days mean you can rock them without fear of busting them up, and a pair of shorts is a great combo with this classic 90′s runner. Check out this new colorway in a Sport Red/White/Navy set up, a combination that has some pop to it but doesn’t go overboard on the colors just for the sake of standing out. The contrast of the white and red that hits all over this leather Nike Air Max 90 works really well, making this a super clean shoe from Nike Sportswear. Nike Air + Nike Shox = Nike Air Shox. It’s a simple formula that seems to work just fine, as it was introduced first on a few Nike Runners last year, like the Nike Shox NZ 2.0 that released as part of the Air Attack Pack. Now Air Shox is used for Nike Shox’s long-awaited mainstream return to Nike Basketball, and this July 2011 will be like the early 00′s all over again, when Nike Shox basketball kicks were considered ‘rockable’ thanks to the Shox VC line and other classics like the Shox BB4 and Shox Stunner, among others. Three new colorways of the Nike Air Shox Hyperballer will drop next month – the previously previewed Wolf Grey/Sport Red, a Black/Photo Blue, and a White/Sport Red-Black. Please ignore the Pavlovian urge to scramble around looking for loose change on your way to run outside and down the street until you find it. The Air Jordan 1 just released with white carbon fiber accents, an all-black edition to follow with even more of this faux performance material. Another technical synthetic that’s been popular on sneakers in the last decade is reflective 3M, which has grown from accent on hits on runners to the occasional all-over standout like 2009′s ‘Raging Bull’ Air Jordan Vs. Mark Gonzales is one of skateboarding’s true OGs, a guy who’s been kicking and pushing for over a quarter century and remains one of the sport’s luminary figures. His latest release from adidas Skateboarding has a look so classic it could have just as easily been on his feet during that fateful day at Embarcadero when he was tricked into ollieing a gap so big it now bears his name. The same cannot be said of the adidas adi Ease‘s model name, though its Satellite Blue silhouette bears the legend’s name in gold on its lateral sides. The Converse Star Tech debuted all the way back in 1984, its initial colorways endorsed by Larry Bird, Julius Erving and Magic Johnson. This summer, some twenty-seven years after its introduction, this silhouette will be reborn like so many other classic basketball designs before it. The Converse Startech LE is set to drop early next month (July 1st, to be exact) with a revamped EVA cupsole and new colorblocking options. Hanon will have them and reports that there are two tonal black and grey colorups on the way, and you can see more of the first one when you click on the jump below.

Part Air Max, part Lunarlon, all classic Swoosh design. What’s not to love? The Air Max Lunar is a crazy combo between the two most revered sole cushioning technologies in Nike’s repertoire. In the heel section you see the the classic visible air bag, which then gives way to the ultra-lightweight Lunar sole of the forefoot. This new cool grey looking colorway of the exciting hybrid comes in a nice mix of calm colors on the upper, accented by the occasional yellow pop as seen on the swoosh and in various parts of the sole. Big Sean was the guest of honor at the adidas retail store in Lower Manhattan, New York, where he received two special personalized pairs of the adidas Superstar as well as a neat adidas Superstar silver chain. The crowd turnout was amazing, as hundreds of fans showed up to see the hip-hop act and to get free tickets to his album release party. After receiving his special gifts from adidas, Big Sean took to the streets and engaged his fans while standing atop a van, all while wearing a black/white pair of adidas Superstars. One way to rejuvenate an old classic is to give it a refreshed point of view. The Air Max2 CB ’94 certainly falls under the category of ‘Classics’, and for Spring 2012, Nike has plans to push it further with the Air Max Barkley, a sneaker previously featured on Sneaker News. Not long ago we showed you the ‘Action Red’ sample of the Air Max Barkley, so here’s a look at a second Spring 2012 release – the White/Old Royal-Gym Red colorway. While not a direct tribute, the White/Royal/Red combination is a throwback to Barkley’s days in Philadelphia, where he spent eight successful years. We’ll have to wait two more years for the Air Jordan V to turn the magical age of 23, but 2011 is the 21st birthday for Jordan’s fifth shoe – an age that we all consider to be a lifetime milestone. We should expect more Air Jordan V releases in 2013, but 2011 hasn’t been too shabby. In fact, here’s a mini-tribute to the Air Jordan V, showcasing some of the biggest retro releases past and present like the yet-to-release Air Jordan V Quai 54, and the 2000 Retro releases that featured ‘Nike Air’ on the heel.
