New York Yankees ace C.C. Sabathia started the 2011 season off in style, pitching from the Yankees Stadium mound on opening day wearing a cleated player exclusive Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’. Sabathia seems to be a huge fan of the Elevens, having also pitched in the ‘Cool Grey’ and ‘Space Jam’ editions, but all of those have had metal spikes attached to their soles. Here’s a look at a model that C.C. would be more likely to wear while preparing for a game, the Air Jordan XI Turf Trainer. These babies take the Concord upper and pair it with a spikey turf sole like the ones that have typified Nike turf trainers since the mid-’90s (and also appeared on Sabathia’s AJF5 PEs). Click through for a closer view and let us know how these compare to the other baseball and football cleat versions of the Air Jordan 11 we’ve seen here on Sneaker News. via Jordans Daily

By July 1st, school will be out nationwide (except for the summer-school slackers ), and that means being out and about without a care in the world. Let’s be real – summer vacation is a prime time to look your best and catch the attention of the ladies, and one way to do that is by rocking some fresh gear (of course, some inherent, unflappable swag helps) like the Nike Air Foamposite Pro in the eye-catching Retro/Black colorway. Sneaker News hooked you up with an official release date for these in-season Foams (July 1st), and we expect these to be a hit for the Summer thanks to its tropical appeal, and the fact that Foamposites have never been hotter than ever. These are starting to hit retailers like Millenium Shoes, but you can either sit tight and wait for the release date in two weeks, or jump the gun and cop a pair now on eBay.

The Nike Air Max 2011 is the culmination of decades and millions of dollars spent on research and development to come up with the world’s leading running shoe. Fitting, then, that this latest AM2011 comes in a colorway reminiscent of the greatest athlete who ever donned the Swoosh, a ‘Raging Bull’ of a Sport Red getup with black and Metallic Silver accents. They’re blocked pretty similarly to the 2009 Air Jordan V referenced above, though the use of Hyperfuse instead of suede underlines the evolution of this series over its quarter-century of dominance. It’s been a good year for Charles Barkley fans on the footwear side of things, with his signature Nike Air Max CB34‘s getting a few nice releases now that they’ve finally been let out of the vault. This shoe was a staple of 90′s basketball design, with its staggered air bubbles on the sole kit and indented Barkely accenting. The hot releases continue with this upcoming House of Hoops exclusive, a monochrome obsidian colorway done up in patent leather, a first for the Sir Charles signature shoe. The deep tone on these is just a few shades off from the purple of the Suns uniforms, so it might be time to bring that Barkley jersey out of the closet The glossy look puts the Nike Air Max CB34 in a totally different context, giving them a sort of luxury feel. Check out some more images after the jump of this House of Hoops exclusive and let us know what you think. via OSneaker.

The ongoing Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals collaboration has seen a slew of killer sneakers, with the “wings” add-on really pushing the limits of sneaker design. We’ve got an updated look at the Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals JS Wings Camo that are slated for a Fall/Winter release. These high tops stick to traditional camouflage colors, with a good mix of greens and browns swirling about the leather upper. Furthering the outdoorsy feel is the bright orange lining on the inside of the shoe. With that being said, these won’t exactly make you blend in, as the Jeremy Scott Wings are without a doubt some of the most unique shoes in recent memory. Stay tuned with us for this Fall/Winter 2011 release from adidas Originals.

It’s safe to say the Air Jordan 2011 was a big deal, a Jordan shoe that got back to the performance side of things, focusing just as much on functionality as visual aesthetics. Building off the success of the Air Jordan 2011, the Jordan Brand team is releasing the all new Air Jordan 2011 Q Flight, a shoe intended for the faster players on the court who are looking for a responsive shoe. The Air Jordan 2011 Q Flight is built on the signature Quickness cushioning technology that debuted in the Air Jordan 2011 legacy model from this year, a system of mixed mesh and Phylon materials that makes for a lightweight upper that stays responsive in game. The Air Jordan 2011 Q Flight will be hitting stores on July 7 in five distinct colorways, so check out the additional images after the jump to figure out which one’s for you.

Diana Taruasi has seen a number of Nike LeBron player exclusive colorways over the years, a pair of her Air Max LeBron VIIs selling at auction for over three grand last summer. That costly pair came in the classic pink-n-shrink that typified ladies sneakers for so many years, but her latest seems a better fit with the overall purpose and tone of the WNBA. These Nike LeBron 8 V2 PEs perfectly match Diana’s Phoenix Mercury home uniforms, their purple Flywire strands and select orange hits leaving us wondering if there’s anything else wild like this left in the LeBron 8 lineup. Is Kobe a fan of Entourage as well? Sneaker News first showed you this camo-uppered colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI in April, and many of our readers compared it to the Entourage colorway of the Nike LeBron 8 V/2. The Entourage cast and the Los Angeles Lakers do have some ties (remember Johnny Drama once asked Lamar Odom about his shapely calves), but this colorway is independent of the show altogether. Instead, it’s one of three camouflage colorways of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI, the first being the ‘Italian Camo’ that dropped in the first weekend of June. The Photo Blue/Volt Camo Kobe VI just became available at Nikestore so head there for to cop yours, or pick up a pair now on eBay.

During a period when tonal grey kicks are among the most popular trends in the sneaker world, it’s a no-brainer to see a Nike LeBron model with this motif. And it’s just as obvious that the Wolf Grey Nike LeBron 8 V2 Low is among this model’s best colorways, their super-versatile non-palette offering a huge range of grey tones thanks to the V2′s synthetic Flywire shell. These babies look even better in person thanks to the metallic sheen on the ‘overlay’ sections, and you can have your own pair to rock all summer long now that they’re available from Eastbay and from atljerseys on eBay.

The Nike Hyperdunk debuted in 2008 and has already reached ‘classic’ status thanks to a unique marketing campaign (Kobe jumping over a speeding Aston Martin and jumping over a snake-filled kiddie pool with the Jackass crew – R.I.P. Ryan Dunn), and many have called it one of Nike’s most comfortable and visually appealing designs in history. In August, the third installment of the Hyperdunk franchise will be introduced – the Nike Hyperdunk 2011. It’s already poised for a boom in popularity, with high-flying standout Blake Griffin chosen as a prominent representative of the shoe, and in August we’ll have the opportunity to own a pair of one of the most futuristic-looking Nike B-Ball designs ever. Seven colorways are set to release – a tonal Volt joint and the Kay Yao ‘Think Pink’ joints – so check out the entire seven below and let us know what you think.
