When we first showed you the Nike Lunarglide+ 3 the response was overwhelmingly positive, with fans of the high tech Lunarglide series of runners excited to see another shoe added to the arsenal. From the seamless toebox to the mid-foot strap to the ultra lightweight Lunarlon sole, these are definitely one of the most comfortable trainers to ever come from Nike. Luckily they are getting plenty of love, with three new colorways set to drop in July. Now that the Lunarglide +3 is well established, we should expect some more exciting designs in the future, like the nice blue and yellow one found here. Continue reading to get a better look at all three of these upcoming colorways and stay tuned with us for the release info.

Nike Sportswear has offered a variety of updates to their classic running lineup, from Free soles and Flywire to Foamposite and Hyerfuse, but it’s rare to see a model ‘downgraded’. That’s not a statement on the quality of the Nike Air Max R4, but rather its chronology, the classic Shox R4 runner pared with the wraparound 180-degree Max Air cushion that debuted nearly a decade before we heard the first ‘Boing!’. But if you were to be a stickler, this is actually the Shox R4 atop the Air Max LTD/Air Max Wright‘s tooling, which means the above pictured model did indeed draw on a later design for this mashup. It’s an interesting pastiche and you can see more images of the Air Max R4 when you click on the jump below. Let us know what you think and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these spring 2012 releases. via CK.

Tony Alva belongs to a select crew in the history of skateboarding, the legendary Z-Boys of California who changed the face of skating forever. Of course they usually did it rocking Vans, one of the first big brands to recognize the importance of skate culture at an early onset. This new collaboration between Tony Alva and Vans comes in the form of the 106 Pro, a lowtop model seen here with a monochrome canvas upper constructed out of recycled materials. These have some great little details that help them come together, inlcuding the contrastive lining and the rubber trim found on the toebox. The shoe sits on top of a sleek black rubber sole, the sort of flat footed masterpiece that helped skaters like Alva change the game in the 70′s and 80′s. Hit the jump to get a better look at both the blue and beige pair, both of which are available now at Vans.

Before this year many of our readers were probably unfamiliar with the Reebok Night Sky, a more rugged hiking inspired shoe from the British brand. But when streetwear stalwarts like 10 Deep and Bodega picked up the model for their respective Reebok collabos, this unique shoe was definitely put back on the map. Fortunately Reebok isn’t done with the Night Sky Mid just yet, with two more limited edition colorways scheduled for release in Fall 2011. Both pairs are dipped in a weathered suede that is broken up by thick hits of mesh on the toe and ankle areas. These colorful offerings of the Reebok Night Sky Mid are a good choice if you want to be prepared to suit up stylishly for the harsh weather of the winter months. Check after the jump to get a better look of these and stay tuned for more detailed info regarding these as their release approaches. via: Tenisufki

Cookouts and BBQ’s, 4th of July right around the corner-yep it’s definitely summer time. Converse is dropping the Americana Collection to coincide perfectly with the onset of the warmer months, utilizing some classic patterning on a group of Chuck Taylor All-Stars that is definitely familiar for anyone fond of Summer in the USA. The All-Star Lows in this pack are wrapped in a gingham print, the instantly recognizable checked motif that is seen at many a picnic when the weather is hot. The two Chuck Taylor All-Star Highs included in the Americana Collection bring new meaning to the “All Star” name, dipped in the stars and stripes of the US flag. This batch of summer footwear never strays from the red, white, and blue color set up, and the pairing of such iconic American patterns just makes sense on an American footwear classic like the Converse All-Star. Continue reading for a better look at each shoe in the pack and then head over to Converse to snag a pair now.

We’ve seen the Nike Free sole applied to a variety of silhouettes in recent months, models ranging from updated lifestyle models to barefoot-mimicking performance machines. This new model pictured above falls into that latter category, and one look at its beastly stable yet flexible sole will lead you to the conclusion that Nike Free Zilla is a perfect name. This first colorway comes with the Volt-accented grey and white look that’s been so popular of late, an energetic palette well suited to your summer training runs. We hope you’re seated as you’re reading this latest Sneaker News Weekly Rewind. All the big stories that surfaced were not for the meek of heart, so if you happened to miss out on any of the big news, be prepared. Starting off with Air Jordan news, Sneaker News confirmed the release of the Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ for Spring 2012 and also gave you a look at a sample of the upcoming White/Cement IV. The Nubuck sample of the Air Jordan III also stirred up quite a debate as well. Some samples of OGs also made noise, like the unreleased White/Bright Cactus Air Jordan VIII Low that was scheduled for an early 2008 release. Nike SB made a big splash as well, as we learned of the collaboration between Doug Ellin, creator of the hit show Entourage, and the Nike SB Dunk Low. The 2011 Finals ended this week, with Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks triumphing over LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and the Miami Heat.
Other Nike news included the 40th birthday of the Swoosh, originally created by Carolyn Davidson for a mere $2 an hour. We brought you a look at some upcoming Nike Basketball kicks, like the Air Shox Hyperballer, Hyperforce 2011, and other Spring 2012 releases. It was another big week for celebrities in Air Jordans, with Ludacris, Wiz Khalifa, and Kid Cudi making appearances. The Supra Skytop III, Chad Muska’s signature shoe, was officially unveiled this week in four colorways as well. Sneaker Con NYC is tomorrow at noon, so if you’re one of the many NYC-based Sneaker News readers, be sure to show up tomorrow with your heat! 2011 is the year of the Air Jordan III, but thankfully Jordan Brand hasn’t kept it exclusive that just one Air Jordan shoe. In fact, 2011 will hold plenty of the Air Jordan Retro releases, like the Air Jordan VII, to which we’ve already received a number of new releases like the Orion Blue and Year of the Rabbit. For mid-June (the end of the school year for some), Jordan Brand will drop an OG Air Jordan colorway – the Air Jordan VII in White/Cardinal Red-Black-Bronze. You may or may not remember Mike rocking these nearly two decades ago, and you may or may not have copped these back in 2006. In any combination of scenarios, the Cardinal VII is a must-have, so check your local Jordan Brand spot like the newly re-opened Moe’s Sneaker Spot or get a pair now on eBay.

We’ve seen mids, velcro lows and even a new variant with traditional boat shoe heel lacing, but what about the original Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski? The OG Janoskis will join these other new editions with a slate of new releases in 2012, the first quarter of which we previewed about two weeks ago. A key part of that group is this new Zoom Stefan Janoski SB in a golden shade dubbed Hay, a suede model that adds black accents and a white vulc sole to complete its look. Click through for more, let us know how these compare to the ever-expanding list of upcoming Stefan Janoski pro models and stick with Sneaker News for word on their release. via N-SB.

Nike’s successful Lunar technology has permeated all categories of Nike performance footwear, beginning with running and spreading to basketball and even outdoor activity. The Nike Lunar Elite Trail Mid, which debuted last year, was a trail-ready high-top form of the Nike Lunar Elite running shoe, constructed with rugged materials like weather-proof canvas, suede, nylon, and mesh materials, and just missed the cut for the Sneaker News Top 30 Sneakers of 2010. These two new colorways of the Nike Lunar Elite Trail builds on the already popular catalog of great releases; one in Silver, Orange, and Obsidian as well as a Black, Orange, and Blue colorway will hit stores later this year.
