Nike SB P Rod V Mid Spring 2012

Paul Rodriguez’s varied line of signature shoes is showing no signs of letting up over at Nike SB, as it is being relentlessly released in new colors and models as the months go by. The Nike SB P-Rod V Mid is a crazy mash up of skate and running technology, with a mid cut and perforated side panel placed on top of the featherweight Lunarlon sole that has been a huge hit over at Nike Sportswear. Here is a sneak-peak at these sleek sneaks, set hit retailers in three new colorways as of Spring 2012. The P-Rod’s shown here keep it simple, sticking to one tone on the upper and utilizing a separate swoosh color for minimal contrast. Stay tuned with us for more info as the release date for these P-Rod V Mid’s approaches and continue reading to get a full look at all three. via: CK

adidas Return Of The Mac Black Royal | Available

Sneaker News readers old enough to remember the middle ’90s probably hear the drumline from Tom Tom Club’s ‘Genius of Love’ when they see the above pictured model’s name.  That 1981 track gave its kicks and claps to (among several other tracks) Mark Morrison’s 1997 hit single ‘Return of the Mack’, a song that nearly topped the Billboard 200 the summer before Tracy McGrady started his high school senior year.  T-Mac was among the relatively small group of preps-to-pros successes, and especially during his scoring title days, had a healthy following for his adidas Basketball signature line.  The adidas Return of the Mac, then, is a redux of McGrady’s T-Mac II from the 2002-03 season when he won his first PPG crown.  No word yet on whether Nike will try to one-up adidas by issuing an ‘Mmmbop’ Vince Carter hybrid, but we can state with certainty that the first Return of the Mac colorway just released at Three Stripes retailers like FinishLine.

Nike SB V Rod Grey White

The Nike SB P-Rod signature line, like a fine wine, has matured and evolved into this particular variation of a P-Rod shoe, the Nike SB V-Rod. Considerably slimmer and low-pro than the original P-Rod, the all-new V-Rod is the most slimmed down Paul Rodriguez shoe we’ve ever seen, stripped down of extra materials and focusing on the core of performance skating. This new colorway features a basic dark grey and white colorway with an orange/aqua tongue label and orange outsole. Flatspot has these available for purchase now so check your local Nike SB purveyors to get yours!

Nike 6.0 Dunk Low LR Spring 2012

Nike 6.0 has long been considered the little brother of the Nike SB, but lately the action sports line has been getting more and more support in the form of dope colorways. The 6.0 Dunk LR takes the traditional Dunk upper and puts it on top of a vulcanized rubber sole, something more specifically geared toward action sports in place of the usual Dunk sole. This advanced look at the Spring 2012 line up shows some nice colorblocking in the form of a two toned approach. Beyond that there are two 6.0 Dunk Low LR’s here caught up in a all business black and white set up. Continue reading to get a look at each of these new pairs set to release in Spring 2012 and let us know if they will be making their way to your collection. via CK.

Air Jordan III White + Black Cement | OG Shoes on eBay

The has been an ongoing topic in 2011, and just recently, an interesting debate has surfaced regarding the sample Air Jordan III that featured nubuck on the upper. Of course, many Jordan fans would like for Jordan Brand to leave the originals untouched and in their original states, but with the ever-changing horizon of mass-manufacturing, branding, and other grease-ball factors that shape and form the retail market, it’s tough for an OG to stay OG. Here’s a look at the White/Cement and Black/Cement Air Jordan III from way back in 1988; twenty-three years old and the leather on the upper looks to be in pristine shape, and the Nike Air on the heel only adds to the notion that Air Jordan consumers ‘settle’ rather than ‘willfully purchase’. Of course, these OGs (which served proudly as display pieces) are unwearable, but would make for an awesome shelf piece (keep in mind that only the left shoe is up for sale). Check out the additional images of these Air Jordan III OGs after the jump and check out the auction from aznnoodleboi51 on eBay.

1World x Nike Air Force 1 Supreme K Dice Dragon on eBay

Ever wanted to own your own pet dragon? Well, we can’t help you with that over here at Sneaker News, but we can bring you the next best thing-this ebay auction featuring the 1World x Nike Air Force 1 Supreme ‘K-Dice Dragon’ which are probably about as hard to come by as an actual dragon. This Air Force 1 was a collaboration with Boston Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka, aka Dice-K, for the Nike 1World project back in 2008 and only about 100 pairs were produced worldwide. The inspiration for these premium Air Force 1′s is evident in their design, with white pony hair covering the toe box and midsection, some crazy orange scaling wrapping around the back and the lacing system, and the white swoosh in a reptilian looking skin . Also check out the dragon logos that form the shape of an 18, Dice-K’s number on the Red Sox, discreetly placed on the heel and insole. Continue reading for a detailed look at this incredibly rare pair of Air Force 1s and check out the auction from konkretejungle on eBay.

Celebrity Feet: Ludacris Air Jordan XIII Low White Black Maize

This past weekend, rocked the crowd at Sun Life Stadium following the Florida Marlins 9-5 loss to Arizona Diamondbacks. During Luda’s show, which probably had a larger attendance than any Marlins home game this season, the ATL-based hip-hop artist broke out the Low White/Black-Maize for the performance. It looks like the Atlanta rapper/actor keeps a fresh pair on standby as he was recently spotted wearing the Air Jordan III ‘Doernbecher’ and Air Jordan XX3 ‘Titanium’ among others, and this release from 2005 is certainly noteworthy enough to get our attention. Check out Ludacris’ Air Jordan XIII Lows after the jump and let us know what you think.

Jordan SC 2 Black City Grey Metallic Gold

Any time Jordan Brand releases a model with ‘Flight’ in the title (or stitched on the tongue), you can expect a look that hearkens back to the period between 1988 and ’90 when Air Jordans III-V were loosely connected to Nike Basketball’s explosive Flight lineup.  So as a sequel to last year’s SC-1, the Jordan SC-2 owes its heritage not only to MJ’s pre-championship years, but also a gradual progression of familiar design reappropriation that also included the Flight 9.  The SC-2 will take over the niche carved by those models, this first gold-on-black colorway perhaps most reminiscent of the AJ6 in DMP form.  Click through to see more angles and grab a pair today from FinishLine.

Nikes Swoosh Logo Turns 40

“Well, I don’t love it, but maybe it will grow on me.”

It’s hard to imagine that the symbol synonymous with the world’s most storied athletic brand received such a lukewarm welcome from Nike co-founder and chairman Phil Knight when it was designed forty years ago, and equally unbelievable that the Swoosh was designed by a retiree and sold for a mere 35 bucks.  And yet it’s fitting that the brand with which many of modern sports’ great legends are tied, traces its instantly recognizable insignia back to a story every bit as unlikely as say, the sustained dominance of Michel Jordan.  Click on the jump below to see a video from back in 1983 capturing a celebration at Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon in honor of Swoosh scribe Carolyn Davidson and do your best right-place-right-time imitation by checking back with Sneaker News on the reg.  via Freshness/Oregonian
