When you talk about early ’90s running shoes, the bold and energetic colorways stand out as much as the silhouettes themselves. Nike in particular is known to have proffered a wide variety of vibrant colorways (many of which are wildly popular to this day), but this new Nike Air Pegasus ’92 is still among the most unique we’ve seen, in that era or any other. They’re 75% white, but there’s some explosive action in that last quarter, where a black heel counter gives new life to orange and maroon accents, resulting in one of the more curious novel combinations we’ve seen in recent memory. They’re sure to hit hard with Virginia Tech Hokies fans who will find the quirky palette matches their team’s oddly colored gear, and you can see more images when you click on the jump below. via FnG

The Nike Zoom Kobe VI has seen more than its fair share of colorways (not to mention the NIKEiD runs), but conspicuous by their collective absence has been anything resembling a team bank colorway. That changes with the revelation of this new ZK6 in Varsity Red with white trim. It’s a model that shows the sixth Kobe Bryant signature from Nike Basketball can hold its own against the Swoosh’s other top team hits like the Hyperfuse and Hyperdunk series, this super-simple colorblocking pattern soon to be replicated amongst a variety of popular colors. Click through to see more angles and let us know if these match your team’s gear. via in52.

About halfway into his first season with Jordan Brand, Dwyane Wade was spotted in both home and away player exclusive editions of the Air Jordan XII. The former is quite similar to Michael Jordan’s regular season home sneakers from the 1996-97 season, except that it MJ’s road choice, given the Bulls’ red road unis. The other element of that choice by His Airness was that both of his regular season Twelves came with white leather uppers, the ‘Taxi’ home edition the one of that duo to feature yellow accents. So bringing it all full circle, Wade’s AJ12s add a yellow hit on the ‘JUMPMAN’ mudguard stripe, making for a model that’s a black sole away from mashing together the two OG white AJXIIs. The design team at Converse has been coming with some great summer shoes in the form of the Jack Purcell LLT Ox lately. The Jack Purcell’s are an ancient model, but have remained relevant through their long history thanks to Converse’s approach in keeping them contemporary. This pair continues in the tradition of minimal lowtops that pack a punch, with the purple stitching against the black suede on the upper giving these all the pop they need. A fresh white midsole completes these Jack Purcells, with the signature “smile” found on the toebox as always. Continue reading to get a more detailed look at this pair of Converse Jack Purcell LTT Ox’s, which are available now at Primitive Shoes.

Vans is set to drop a handful of new colorways for its popular take on the classic American boat shoe; the Zapato Del Barco. These pairs come in a mix of calm colors that should fit right in with the Fall season. The shoes are built in a predominately canvas upper with some scruffy seams that give them a rough around the edges feel. Of course every boat shoe needs a bit of leather and these deliver in that regard too, with a soft brown leather making up the wrapped cover on the lacing system. Also not to missed is the lining on these, which comes in a variety of plaid patterns. The Zapato Del Barco is a great way to represent the boat shoe flavor while sticking to the classic heritage of Vans skate shoes. Continue reading for a look at these three pairs that will be releasing Fall 2011.

The hit TV show Entourage is set for a final season, and if you’ve been a fan of the show, you know that Nikes and sneakers have been notable subplots throughout the series. From Turtle getting his own pair of Fukijamas and getting ridiculed by his mother for wearing Air Force 1s to a movie premier, to Vince giving an autographed ‘Head On’ movie poster to a rep of the Swoosh, kicks and Entourage have always been at arms length. To celebrate the final season of Entourage, Doug Ellin, creator of the series, teamed up with Hot Rod to create a Friends and Family pair of the NIke SB Dunk Low that features the Entourage show logo on the tongue as well as additional graphics on the insoles. Even without the Entourage insignia, the shoe itself is one of the best Nike SB Dunk Lows we’ve seen in quite a long time; it features a tonal black-on-black elephant print blocked identically to the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low, with black suede on the toe-box, center panel, and ankle. Sources have mentioned a Quickstrike releases of the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Entourage’ later this year, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for more information as it develops. via N-SB.
Update: These will debut during the first episode of the final season.

Plenty of sneakerheads have voiced their opinion on Nike Sportswear’s VNTG pre-yellowing treatment, but here’s visual proof that those models do in fact represent an accurate portrayal of what happens when you keep kicks on ice for more than a few years. Check out this OG Air Jordan 1 in white and neutral grey that’s still deadstock some twenty-six years after its retail release. They look amazing save for the ankle collar, where the grey sections have peeled away, and though the buyer of this grail is quite unlikely to up and un-DS them, it’s quite a nice match for that aforementioned yellow midsole. Nike Sportswear vulcanized the Dunk and came up with the Dunk High AC back in 2009, the Swoosh’s action sports following suit with the lowtop version a few months later. The autoclaved Dunk SE 6.0 can then be seen as the forefather of this new revelation, the Nike 6.0 Dunk High LR. Just like the SE lows, the Dunk High LR swaps out the Dunk’s original cupsole for a vulcanized bottom, but unlike the SEs, who share a Flex Wrap sole with the Braata, the LR goes with a classic Blazer-style bottom. Click through to see more of the first three colorways, let us know which is best and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these spring 2012 releases. via CK.
