If you’re in the habit of watching TV (and especially online episodes), chances are, the first few bars of Big Sean’s ‘I Do It’ are burnt into your mind along with images of the aptly named adidas adiZero Crazy Light. In the TV spot, NBA MVP Derrick Rose tells you to remember the number 9.8, and not just because the Chicago Bulls were 7 wins away from a title. It’s actually the shockingly slight weight of a size 9, an accomplishment whose cutting edge construction fits the futurism captured by this track’s bulbous synth notes. Other June releases include the Jordan CMFT Air Max 10 in the ‘Cool Grey’ and the Jordan V.9 Grown in the blue denim canvas upper. Look out for these at Jordan Brand retailers like Extra Butter so take a look below for another look and don’t miss out on these releases.

Much has been made of Michael Jordan wearing a pair of Anfernee Hardaway’s Nike Air Flight Ones in the 1995 NBA Playoffs, but did you know that Penny also had a pair of custom Jays? And we’re not talking about a hatchet job like MJ did to carve away the 1-cent logo from his Air Flight One ‘PEs’, but rather a full on Air Jordan IX player exclusive colorway created for the guard who best carried the torch Mike’s marketing magic when His Airness left the hardwood for greener pastures. And talk about ending up in a beautiful place; this Penny AJIX PE from Hardaway’s 1993-94 rookie campaign certainly has what it takes to compete with the best Air Jordan 9 special makeups out there. Where does it rank in your own opinion? Click through for more angles to aid in your decision and stick with Sneaker News for more historic hidden gems. Thanks kjacobsen53

The versatile Hyperfuse technology has the ability to take shape of any model, and after we saw it take form of the Nike Air Max 1 last August, we figured more Nike Fuse models were on the way. The Nike Air Force 1 High is one of them, a classic Nike Sportswear model that has undergone some alterations over the years. It was first made a bit heavier with the Foamposite Air Force 1 High, but for the Air Force 1 High Fuse, it experiences a vast weight reduction thanks to the one-piece Hyperfuse upper. The rubber outsole still makes these a viable basketball shoe, although nobody in the NBA wears Forces in games now that ‘Sheed called it quits. In any case, expect the Air Force 1 High Fuse to hit select Nike Sportswear retailers soon, and check out these new images of the Midnight Fog colorway courtesy of LTD-Online.

April was a huge month for the rarely seen New Balance 999, its Concepts-designed ‘Kennedy’ collabo among the year’s very best and two more classic colorways following suit just a couple weeks later. But the NB almost-a-thousand has been absent since then, so we’re excited to see this new edition readying for retailers next month. The New Balance ML999 will hit store shelves in July wearing a deep navy blue suede plus white and grey accents for a colorway that’s as versatile as you can get (just combine with black garments carefully/sparingly). Click through for more angles and let us know how these compare to the other releases during what has been a particularly strong year for New Balance in 2011. via EK

Back at the start of the month, Converse released a new distressed denim pair of Chucks that had us recalling the fact they were the first denim All Stars released in quite a while. Apparently someone at the One Star also realized the relative dearth of models crafted in the world’s most popular durable cotton material, so without further ado, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star OX Denim Pack. This duo adds bold contrast stitching, leather details and rivets, including a ‘pocket’ on the heel to drive home the theme. Click through to see closer views of the blue and black pairs, let us know which one you like better and look for these now at Converse retailers like RMK.

adidas Originals tends to rely less upon official release dates than Nike Sportswear, but here’s a case when a whole heap of new Three Stripes classics have come available at once. When you’ve got a collection like this that runs the gamut of a brand’s heritage models, it can be hard to pick a standout model, so we’ll just start at the bottom of the list (in alphabetical order, that is) with a new adidas ZX500 in a colorway that would have been right at home in Philly around the model’s 1984 debut. That rounds out the running category, but there are plenty more lowtops thanks to a duo of Gazelle IIs plus one Gazelle OG, the immortal Rod Laver and Stan Smith, and one pair of Campuses. Rounding out the group are two newer designs, both lifestyle oriented midtops with basketball inspiration in the adiRise Mid and Roundouse Mid. Click through for shots of the entire set and look for yours at select adidas Originals accounts like New York’s Extra Butter.

We’ve been out of the ’00s for nearly 18 months now, but don’t tell Jordan Brand. Many fans simply wouldn’t want to see more of the Air Jordan Force Fusion series that came out toward the end of last decade, but judging by the feedback from the first point-oh’d Air Jordan Legacy model, this is one (somewhat jumbled) trip back in time that’s well-justified. The Air Jordan 8.0 is unlike the 2.0 that came before it, but makes similarly significant improvements to its bulky 1993-born vamp in lieu of a shift in cushioning technology. The legendary AJVIII ‘Aqua’ colorway will be reprised along with the OG home look that swaps its traditional True Red for the Varsity variety.
