Few non-Christmas weekends have featured as much emotion for sneakerheads as this one. It’s always nice to get a three-day weekend and celebrating July 4th with friends and family with a BBQ is among the entire summer’s highlights, but we got some devastating news when word leaked that the Air Jordan V ‘Quai 54′ will not see a stateside retail release. Coupled with the white patent leather AJ5 that was also slated to drop on Saturday, this figured to be one of the biggest days ever for the Fives, but that is not to be. Then again, maybe there’s something to celebrate after all, as those patriotic AJVs will indeed hit shelves this weekend, and in Brooklyn, NY, they’ll be part of the grand opening event at Red Carpet.
The self-proclaimed “only source in Brooklyn for all of today’s heat in footwear and apparel” will have ‘The People’s Choice’ DJ Envy on hand spinning records as the Fives are joined by new releases like the ‘Retro’ Air Foamposite Pro and ‘Sprite’ LeBron 8 V/2 Low, along with recent hits like the ‘True Blue’ IIIs, and all at or below MSRP! The I-95 corridor is already going to be a mess this weekend, but you owe it to yourself to get there if you can, and click through to see some more previews of what’s in store at the Red Carpet grand opening.

Im from the five Boro's and i travel through out 5 Boro's that sneaker store is a offical! Everyone talks about flightclub but its over rated, its like having 100 friends and you tell them to bring a sneaker over to my place to sale at a higher price. Then you see the sneaker you like then you cant buy it because they dont have ur size or its too over price. Then they seat out dry rott then they still want top dollar for a dry rott shoe. They dont respect the sneaker culture just ur money!
