The sneaker world is showing no signs of slowing down despite the summer heat, and there were plenty of big stories this week to keep us locked in front of a computer screen. While still no looks at a full shot of the LeBron 9, we got our best view yet at a few sections of the shoe in what will most likely turn out to be the customary Bred inline launch colorway. Over in the Jordan zone, bad news came down on the Quai 54 US release (or lack of), but moods brightened due to word regarding the return of some Air Jordan XII Retros in 2012 and pics of the tumbled leather version of the 2011 AJ III Black/Cement to set a lot of concerned minds at ease. Elsewhere in basketball sneakers, the Nike Hyperfuse 2011 hit retail and the Kobe VI will once again get the camo treatment over on Nike iD. And speaking of customizing sneakers, Mizzee is back at it with some interesting Air Jordan VI concepts and JBF gives us a lesson on working with Dunks. Some respect for history is paid with Flight Club’s new Sneaker Archive site, giving us a great database of classic sneakers whether it’s well-known favorites like the soon to return Air Jordan XIV ‘Last Shot’ or obscure gems like the Nike Air Flow returning to retailers this weekend.
