Jordan Brand’s mid-month Retro release is the Air Jordan XI IE Low in the original Black/Varsity Red colorway. The XI IE Low is one of the few Low-top Air Jordans that Michael wore during games and stands alone as the only released version of a low-top Air Jordan. History says that Michael had a penchant for low-cut basketball shoes, and the funky design (quite an aberration from the simpler, more clean-cut look of the Air Jordan XI) made these one of the most popular off-Legacy designs of all time. Do you recognize this Air Jordan XI IE Low as part of the Air Jordan legacy? I know this is quite a popular shoe, but in my opinion the mesh vents are ugly. They'll never grow on me, but the original patent 11's are just amazing.

okay, i know there is someone on here who can explain this shoe to me because i have a couple questions. for one what does "ie" stand for? i looked it up and read that it stands for "imprinted elephant", which sort of makes sense bc of the upper "elephant" design on most XI low ie's. another question i have is why is that jb released two completely different styles of XI lows, whereas some XI lows look exactly like their mid counterparts and the "ie" looks almost nothing like the mid XI except for the mid and sole of the shoe. these are actual questions im asking, so if anyone could answer, especially like a sneakernews rep, itd be greatly appreciated. thanks! and ps i think the XI ie low is pretty ugly personally, but we all have a different ideal aesthetic for sneakers.
