The release of the Nike LeBron 8 ‘South Beach’ kicked off LeBron’s reign in Miami, depicting a tropical colorway that we all associate with the sunny beaches of the city. It served as a worthy prologue to one of the most controversial seasons in NBA history, and as the sun sets on LeBron’s first season in South Beach, Nike will release the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low ‘Miami Night’ – a multicolored variety depicting a chaotic scene rife with fireworks and confetti. Unfortunately LeBron didn’t have much to celebrate at the end of his first season, as he and his Heat brethren were cooled off in six games by the Dallas Mavericks, but it was certainly a memorable first season nonetheless. Did Nike and LeBron James have any special plans for this unique colorway, given the festive design – possibly an Independence Day release for its red/white/blue colorway, or did they have another celebration in mind? The gays in Miami will be all over these shoes. Nike has been courting the gay population with these pastel colored shoes. The south beaches, the fly wade south beach themed shoes, and now these. Whenever I see someone wearing these, I'll know they're proudly repping their gay Pride.

I seriously dont even know how the south beaches got as hyped as they did. These are kinda booch. They woulda been better for hype if they did the same concept but stuck with the true south beach colors and made the outsole clear. … cuz right now anything with pink or blue or green or teal or any variation is considered miami or south beach and that to me is weak

I have to admit they catched my eye at first sight.
Don't get me wrong, nice creative colorway, but I can't really imagine wearing them.
