Nike Air Griffey Max 1 Freshwater | New Photos

If you’re not old enough to have had the opportunity to watch Michael Jordan play, chances are you’ve never seen Ken Griffey Jr. in action. Griffey played in the pros up until 2010, but he wasn’t the swagtastic home-run swatter for most of the decade. It was during his Seattle days that he gained prominence as an unusual power-hitter (he was much smaller than guys like McGwire and Sosa), but remember that he was also quite deft with the glove as center field roamer. Even if you didn’t have the opportunity to watch the man with the sweetest lefty power-swing of all time, you can still enjoy Nike Griffeys as they offer a different sneaker style not seen in runners, Jordans, or basketball kicks. If you need a reminder again, the OG Black/Freshwater colorway of the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 has a set release date of August 10th, so check out the new images below and let us know if these mid-August drops are a must-have for you. via kicks-crew

  14. bigruss Says:

  15. NikesOnMyFeet Says:

are these supposed to come in GS sizes because i was gonna do the same and didn't know for sure

  16. KGJ Says:

    These are Emerald! not freshwater…SMH

  17. Tim Says:

I personally am picking these. The blue sole and numerous changes to the Metallic 5's make it unworthy for me.

  18. Tim Says:

I can't see myself skipping these. These are FIRE!

  19. standclear1 Says:

i would say snag these. the color is so much better than just and all black shoe

  20. Tim Says:

No, the actual color is "Freshwater" even though these are called Emerald Green, because the original version was an emerald green, and this one was modified to be Freshwater, but still has the same name.

  21. Tim Says:

No, the actual color is Freshwater, because they changed it from the original version of the "Mariners" from a Emerald Green to a Freshwater this year.

  22. dantet22 Says:

I talked to my boy who runs a shoe store and I believe so, he said he's got me down for 3 early pairs, but he hasn't gave me the official word yet.

  23. dantet22 Says:

Exactly, the other Griffey 1's they dropped that were mainly white are referred to as "Freshwaters" so they changed the name of these to "Emerald" to not get anyone confused even though the color IS freshwater.

  24. DMVLeggo_ Says:
