Kobe Bryant’s got a lot of pride, especially for his own signature line of shoes. In late 2010, Kobe Bryant sent a message to Reebok endorsee John Wall who was on schedule to miss his eighth straight game due to injury: “Buy Nikes”. The Black Mamba continued his role as Nike pitchman when he recently made comments about the adidas Crazy light, saying “if you want to break your foot, wear that [expletive]” after pridefully point down at his feet and his Nike Zoom Kobe VI. Later on, after a player wearing the adidas Crazy Light missed an easy, two-handed dunk, Kobe provided his own analysis on the missed slam: “It’s the shoes!”. He then laughed hysterically into the microphone. Kobe might have a point, however; Derrick Rose, who wore the Crazy Light during the 2011 Playoffs, injured his foot, and reverted to the adiRose 1.5 upon his return, and the Bulls eventually lost to the Heat. I think Kobe need to STFU…even at one point in his career he was getting money from adidas so he should respect these players grind for signing deals with these shoe companies. Funny how he going all hard for Nike now when they dropped his ass the first time. Never liked none of Kobe shoes anyway. People in glass houses shouldnt throw stones. Kobe started the season with a messed up knee and rolled his ankle so many times during the season and playoffs so by his logic it must of been his shoes. Also i dont know hos many dunks i saw ron artest miss last year was it his shoes or the fact that dude cant jump

Kobe really has a bad attitude now. First, he has to drive on kids that are a foot shorter then him just to win. Then has to do the same on Bow Wow. After they make a bet he still misses some jumpers which he shouldnt cause the guy is like a foot shorter. Plus he knows he is on camera but he continues to swear his head off. What's he doing now? No other superstar would swear on camera especially since he knows kid's look up to him. Even Lebron has never swore on camera and wouldn't just drive on a kid that's way smaller than him. Even tho his jumper is not as good as Kobe's, he would still shoot and only dunk once or twice for fun.

I mean, give me a break … I'm going to trust (what seemed like a 60% majority of the league) PROFESSIONAL basketball players wearing Adidas kicks over one narcissistic douchebag with a shit-eating grin. … And finally, aint no one poppin' shit to Jason Terry, who wore the SAME shoe was John Wall, and steady busted jumpers in oppenents' faces all season–INCLUDING KOBE's. Of course shoes don't make or break players. Kobe smoked everyone during the first championship runs in Adidas. He's just as good in any sneakers. And1, reebok, peak, UA, ect…
It's easy to just trash talk anyone who maybe have been done wrong in ANY sneaker. Kobe wore the "Chaos" V and had crap games and rolled his ankles in other subsequent sneakers. So, I think It's just trash talk. Players ask other players about kicks. And others will trash talk when a scrub wears Jordans to play. It's all fun.

The NBA has a contract with Addidas, so obviously the players who don't have a contract with a particular company will wear them, that is unless they want to buy their own shoes. It has nothing to do with what they like to play in, It comes down to economics. If you didn't have a big contract with a company, would you wear the free shoes provided or would you spend $150-$200 on a new pair of kicks for each game? Not every player makes millions each year, so I'm sure some of them settle to save a few extra bucks that they don't have to spend. Regardless of that, Addidas are generally sturdy balling shoes, but bulky and heavy as hell. These happen to be light, but extremely poorly consrtucted. It's basically a sock with minimal structure surrounding it. If you're making cuts and coming down hard from drives to the basket, an ankle injury will occur eventually. It's just not very stable. Kobe's shoes, while not appealing to some, are lock down and solid. My only problem is that they have way too much grip for indoor courts…Just my opinion

How many times do Nike shoes fall apart? All the time. The Hyperdunk 2010's got recalled because they were falling apart. Nike's a marketing company not a performance company…period.

Crazy Lights are light yes stable no. Kobe's first venture with adidas was a bust all the shoes were and still are hideous. He is known as being an A-hole so what more do look for from him. at some point it does. that's why tinker hattfield was hired as MJ's designer for his shoes. MJ wouldn't be able to play like he does if he did go and wear like chuck taylors during his career. every player/athlete/average person has different foot structure/s. the wear and tear is different in every person. the foot is a complicated system of bones and muscles and almost every physical therapist would prove that. i'm not saying that if you wear Nike/Adidas/Reebok/etc. that you would be instantly better at ball games. but having the right shoes does help an individual be comfortable and prevent some injuries (but at times, shoes make injuries rather than prevent them. Ex. Nike Shox and Crazy Lights)
