‘Batman’ is one of those words that if you look at it for long enough, it takes on a totally different meaning. And not like the words you examine only to find that they’re apparently descended from some alien language, but in the sense that the idea of a bat-man isn’t really something to be thrilled about. Bats can be awful if you have long hair and if you make a man-sized one, that’d be just more trouble still. But from the ‘Da-na-na-na-na-na-na-na’ and Caesar Romero to Jack Nicholson and most recently Heath Ledger, the DC Comics series has such a rich legacy that rarely if ever do we think of Bruce Wayne’s alter ego as just some big winged rodent. He owns the craziest array of implements this side of Inspector Gadget, so this new Converse Chuck Taylor All Star featuring a B&W take on the newest of the three original TV series logoss on the heel offers a bit of perspective on the character through time, thanks to its simplistic design on an even longer tenured silhouette.
