While these were never technically ‘banned’ by the league, the Air Jordan 1 in Black/Royal was part of rebellious and revolutionary Air Jordan 1 original line of colorways. Considering all the Air Jordan 1 colorways that have released since the AJ1 first debuted in nearly three decades ago, the OG Black/Royal colorway hasn’t popped its head out much, with its most recent Retro release back in 2001 when it came accompanied with a metal Jumpman hangtag and were limited to 50,000 pairs. Another retro release hasn’t been confirmed any-time soon (although the six new Air Jordan 1 colorways hitting stores in August will alleviate that pain), but here we have a look at an OG pair of the Black/Royal Air Jordan 1 High. All these AJ1 retros that JB has been coming out with, but noooooo, they can't remember to include this colorway right?

I remember when they dropped in 01 with the little silver jumpman tag on em. I begged my parents for em, but they told me $88 (which was the price in footlocker) was too much for some sneakers. Now I can't find a pair under 500. FML

The condition is amazing for the age. I wouldn't drop that much though. I kind of regret not getting these for $70 when they dropped they went on sale for $50. I only cared about my black/red joints. Ahhh memories! 99-03 the best years in retros.96-02 best years for original releases. I feel bad for today's generation that ain't experience it.

Never really liked the #1's or 2's & not too crazy about most alternate colorways, mostly liked the bulls colorway of most J's !!!

This needs to be Retro'd ASAP. I honestly don't care if it has a jump on the back of the shoe. And quality.If you know how to take care of your kicks. Quality shouldn't be that big of a deal. One of my favorite colorways of the 1's. I need these in my life. JB has retro'd the Bull 1's a couple time. But not these. Help a brother out JB. Retro these joints!!!

i love this colorway on the jordan 1. i cant afford an og pair, let alone any of the retro pairs, so i settled for the alpha 1's. theyll never compare but i took what i could get, man.

This is the shoe that started it for me. First pair of Jordans i ever had. was in 1st grade (old head lls) no bs. Funny thing is that my neighbor tried to call me out and say "they fake" hadnt even sat down of the damn schoolbus yet, then the bamma said-"sike, just playing" I looked at buddy like he had sh*t on his face! Mind you i was 5 yrs old rockin a dark blue peacoat wit the wool around the collar lol People gonna hate no matter what!
