J.Crew x New Balance 1400 Fall 2011 Colorways

J.Crew men’s designer Frank Muytjens has been setting trends and temperatures in men’s fashion for years by emphasizing simplicity and attention to detail, which in turn is why the announcement of a collaborative collection of footwear with New Balance didn’t seem too surprising. The subtle, toned-down appeal of New Balance fits in perfectly with J.Crew’s seasonal styles, and these six new colorways of the New Balance 1400 perfectly fit the mold of bold Americana. It fits the quintessential J.Crew outfit to a tee, and with six two-toned colorways to choose from, you’ll be hard pressed to find an outfit that these won’t mesh with. Check out all six new drops below and head to J.Crew to cop your pair.

Air Jordan III 2001 Retro True Blue | Sample on eBay

Seems like just another pair of the Air Jordan III True Blue, but these 2001 Retro Samples are a bit different than what was released. Have you figured it out yet? This unreleased version, while very similar to that which had released, doesn’t have the trademark elephant print on the small panel on the upper that surrounds the external lace hoops. Such a small variation says a lot about this sample – perhaps it was a factory error, or Jordan Brand intended for these to release in that manner, but we’re glad it was kept in its original state. Take another look at this sample below and stick with Sneaker News for even more peeks at unreleased Air Jordan samples, and don’t forget to check out the auction from poofyo101jumpmansneakers on eBay.

Air Jordan V White Sunset Stealth | Unreleased Sample

We’ve been showing you quite a bit of unreleased Air Jordan samples, with the Air Jordan V being one of the more common models. The blue suede/ice blue, black/purple low, and white/red/black Air Jordan V colorways are just some of the ideas that never developed into production, but considering the Air Jordan V is one of the ‘easier’ models to colorize, it’s no wonder that so many different samples were made. Here’s a look at yet another unreleased colorway of the Air Jordan V – a women’s White/Sunset-Stealth that is similar to the released White/Sunset release of 2006. As you may have quickly noted, the samples feature stealth grey on the inner lining and outsole compared to the bright red seen in the released version. Like these better? Check out the extra detailed shots below and hit up the auction from poofyo101jumpmansneakers on eBay.

Jordan Brand Flight Tour 2011 Recap

Jordan Brand athletes Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul flew out to China to take part in the multi-city basketball tour that would include basketball clinics, all-star games, and other great events. The tour began in Hong Kong, where Melo and CP3 led some rigorous basketball drills and workouts while wearing their respective PE colorways of their signature shoes as well as the matching Chinese Opera mask t-shirts. For Carmelo, the Jordan Melo M7 Advance Flight Tour PE would be the second China-inspired colorway of his signature shoe (remember the ‘Jade’ colorway from last year?). Continue reading for a nice recap of the Jordan Brand Flight Tour 2011 and stick with Sneaker News for more updates regarding this overseas tour!

Air Jordan XIV Retro White Chambray | Unreleased Sample

Earlier today, Sneaker News showed you an Air Jordan XIV Retro sample from 2005 that would have likely hit retail in ’06 along with the other Retro Fourteens.  They came with a black sole, pretty much everything else done in the Chambray blue shade that accented a black nubuck AJVII that same year.  And as we hinted, those weren’t even the only Chambray XIVs that we could have seen early in 2006, as this white leather pair appears to have been the other half of a DMP-style two-pack.  This particular Air Jordan 14 is blocked identically to the white/red OGs, save the addition of a Chambray sockliner to further emphasize this nearly-Carolina blue.  They do indeed come off as a higher take on the OG Columbia Blue Lows from summer 1999 that have come to bear the nickname ‘UNC’, so which one’s better in your estimation?  Click through for some more angles and if you’re feelin’ these, a sample is available now from poofyo101jumpmansneakers on eBay.

Air Jordan V Ray Allen Seattle Sonics Away PE

Ray Allen’s been a trending topic in the world of sneakers lately, but most of you are well aware that his sneaker game has been absolutely on point even since before his days as a professional NBA player. As the longest-tenured Jordan Brand basketball athlete, Ray Allen’s rocked some sick Air Jordan Player Exclusives throughout his career, and some may argue that the Green/Yellow color themes he rocked to match his Seattle Sonics unis were some of his best. Check out this Air Jordan V PE in Black/Sunstone; it features a black nubuck upper with Sunstone Yellow accents on the inner lining, branding, ’34′ logo, and on the outsole. We’ve actually showed you these once before, but osneaker has them up for sale right now, so check out the gallery of images below and let us know if you think these are better than the recently released XIII PEs!

Supra Skytop III Pendleton Customs by The Shoe Surgeon

Some sneaker customizers specialize in painting existing models to mimic the classics, but NorCal’s Dominic Chambrone is like the Dr. James Andrews to their ‘alternative healers’, a guy whose knife is so sharp he just might have used it to lay claim to the best Skytop III colorway so far.  Shoe Surgeon’s ‘Pendleton’ Supra Skytop III was created for the Skytop 3 launch in LA and utilizes a wholly new construction compared to the green pair that served as its base.  These joints were thoroughly excavated, including a new Vibram outsole, leather strapping in place of the TPR cage and vintage Pendleton wool on toe toe.  They’re almost as rugged and wild looking as Chad Muska himself, and you can see more images when you click on the jump below.  via PaintOrThread

Regular Ol Tys Top 25 Sneakers of All Time

Working in a boutique that carries the hottest sneakers seems to be highly correlated with best of lists this week, as we just got a look at Concepts’ Frank the Butcher’s top 25 yesterday courtesy of Complex and here comes another.  Straight from the LDRS mouth comes Ty’s Top 25 Sneakers of All Time, the Chicago stylemaker apparently sharing much of his taste with his aforementioned Boston-based counterpart.  You might not agree with his exact selections (then again, who aside from the list’s curator ever does?) but one thing we can conclude from these most recent lists is that it is with good reason we’re seeing another ‘Black Cement’ Air Jordan III Retro release.  Click through to see a sampling of what else Ty listed and head over to his blog to see the countdown in its entirety.
