adidas adiZero Ghost

If the adiZero Crazy Light is true to its name, should we expect that adidas Basketball’s latest featherweight release is invisible to everyone but Haley Joel Osment?  Check out the adidas adiZero Ghost, a model we previewed back in March whose slight SprintWeb upper will draw comparisons to the Crazy Light and Derrick Rose’s forthcoming adiZero Rose 2.  This first colorway would be suitable for fellow Three Stripes repper Dwight Howard, though the Orlando Magic big man might be looking for a bit more support for his battles on the low block. The second red pair, of course, would be a nice fit for Derrick Rose, too. Air Jordan 1 Phat High GS Diamond Swoosh New Images

Bling has largely fallen by the wayside as streetwear has followed Jay-Z’s advice to ‘Throw on a suit, get it tapered up.’  That’s not to say that everyone in the streets is walking around wearing a three-piece Italian suit, but you’d be just as silly to argue that urban fashion hasn’t ‘matured’ to some degree, with tighter fits and traditional cut and sew items taking over where oversized technicolor tees and high-contrast outfits had once ruled the day.  So this new Air Jordan 1 Phat GS finds itself in an interesting place, a model whose sparkly Swoosh might be out of place were they made for men, and one that could become a lady sneakerhead’s new best friend thanks to the relatively versatile palette in play.  Click through to see more angles, let us know what you think and stick with Sneaker News for updates like the US release date.  via Nike Harajuku

Nike Dunk High Serpent II Customs by Sekure D

Custom sneakers can be a bit of a love/hate thing, but if you’re a fan then you should be familiar with the name Sekure D. This dude has been pumping out some great custom releases as of late, constantly turning to the Nike Dunk High as his canvas of choice. The sneakers he creates often riff off classic imagery from comic books and films, utilizing the themes of heroes and villains to inspire the intricate graphics found on his work. Picture above is the “Serpent II”, a sequel of sorts to another recent design by Sekure D that features a smattering of crazy patterns, creating a shoe that looks part Kaws and part Marvel Comics. Continue reading for a detailed look at the Nike Dunk High “Serpent II” customs which are available now at Sekure D’s webstore.

Jordan Classic 87 White Khaki Birch Gum

The Air Jordan II never got a AJF fusion like many of its Air Jordan Legacy brethren, but the Twos have certainly shown up in their fair share of hybrids.  From the 2.5s to the 60+es and the recent AJ2.0, it’s not terribly uncommon for Jordan Brand to signal a ‘classic’ look with the late-’80s styling.  And the latest also picks up where the earlier Classic 82 left off, the Jordan Classic ’87 perhaps best described as that model’s sole paired with a strongly-AJII-influenced upper.  Click through to get a better view of this tonal (off-)white and gum getup and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date.  via Dunk

Nike Trainer 1.3 Max White Black Court Purple Varsity Maize

The Nike Trainer 1.3 Max has, seemingly out of nowhere, become one of the more exciting trainers from Nike in recent memory. Between the Jerry Rice PE’s, the EA Sports collabo, and the just plain nice colorways like the Volt edition, this sneaker is making a strong case for itself. We’ve got another one to add to the list, this white and black colorway that gets boosted by the sections of purple on the tongue, lining, and Max Air outsole. That bubbly bottom combined with the breathable side panels make the Nike Trainer 1.3 Max truly versatile as any good trainer should be. Continue reading for more photos, and head over to Eastbay to cop a pair.

Air Jordan 2011 Q Flight #Follow23

Over the years, Twitter has become more than just an online social media tool. It’s defined a generation in which individuals displaced miles apart can feel a sense of closeness and interaction, and millions can stay up to date on the lives of those who choose to publicize, or ‘tweet’, their daily happenings. Jordan Brand’s official Twitter @jumpman23 recently unveiled a special colorway of the Air Jordan 2011 Q Flight and will give the sneaker away to one lucky follower as a ‘thank you’ to all the fans who have kept up to date with Jordan Brand news; it features a colorway similar to the official Twitter banner, with White upper, University Blue ‘Fuse’ panels, outsole, Jumpman, and tongue, and a cloud graphic on the heel. The tongues also feature the ampersand logos, which is common Twitter language. Check out the extra detailed images below and let us know if you think. If you’re not following either @jumpman23 or @sneakernews, join in!

Reebok Zig Dynamic + Zig Sonic

So much of the attention centered around Reebok right now is related to Swizz Beatz’ collaborative capsule, that you might have forgotten about the innovative new sole that along with the John Wall signing was the biggest news from the Vector brand in 2010.  ZigTech cushioning is back in a couple of new models for summer, the Reebok Zig Dynamic and Zig Sonic each offering different takes on highly breathable, lightweight and responsive running.  The Dynamic has a Sprite-on-black style colorway while the Sonics show off an almost Hyperfuse-like mesh shell with a sublimated red side panel logo peeking through the grey base.  Click through to see more angles of both pairs and look for these at select RBK retailers nationwide.  via SoleMovement

Max Schaaf x Vans Core Sk8 Mid Pro + Era Pro

” . . . Staring at them thinking ‘You know what I would do?’  Well, I got my chance and here it is.”

To be fair, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Max Schaaf collaborate with Vans, but if you look back to his Syndicate drops from 2008, you’ll have a taste of what’s in store for the latest of which he spoke.  The Max Schaaf x Vans Core capsule takes Schaaf’s familiar black and red preferences and applies them to the Vans Sk8-Mid and Era Pro.  These Pro level releases feature Duracap insole reinforcement for a more comfortable ride, and Max saw to it to make sure they look fresh as well.  Click through to see more angles and look for these now at select Vans retailers like Premier.
