Nike Retro releases have become rather common these days, haven’t they? Most of the Nike Barkley line has made its way to store shelves, and three Griffey models have been crossed off the list as well. The Air Max Uptempo 2 is one shoe that was already re-released, and it’ll make its way back to store shelves this Holiday season. Many of our readers have expressed a desire to cop these, so for the jersey collectors out there, do you rock these with a Duke uni, or a mid-90s Chris Webber Golden State jersey? Check out the new images below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more updates on new colorways of the Air Max Uptempo 2, and let us know if you’ll cop these come Winter-time. via airrandyhk.

The vast majority of high profile Asics Gel Lyte III releases this year have been from collaborating designers, from Ronnie Fieg’s various designs to the Hanon and Zillion tag-team efforts. But here’s proof that the Onitsuka Tiger can do quite well on its own, thank you very much, a dope new Gel-Lyte III in a rugged yet rich black leather getup. These joints have a blue collar spirit thanks to the corded laces and gum rubber bottoms reminiscent of a steel toe workboot, but that buttery smooth leather ensures you’ll be able to rock these with a wide variety of clothing options. This week has been chock full of Swooshed deck shoes as the Nike Post Harbor was unveiled and we got a glimpse at several upcoming Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski colorways. The ‘Boat Shoe’ version also released earlier this week, but the one pictured above goes for the first variant from Janoski’s signature line. The Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid SB will see one drop a month in next year’s Q1, the only one of which we hadn’t individually previewed to this point the above pictured black suede and gumsoled design. Click through for more, let us know how these compare to the Velcros and all the other Stefan Janoski sig iterations and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these and all Nike SB release dates. via N-SB

A few days back, Sneaker News scooped you on a new Air Jordan 1 Phat in GS sizes that features a diamond-like glimmering Swoosh to finish off an otherwise Sprite-on-white color palette. This new pair (part of the Jordan Brand Strawberry Splash Pack), then, finds itself halfway between those slightly feminine blingjobs and Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls legacy, this pair opting for the diamond Swoosh along with a white, grey and red colorway. Click through to see more angles, let us know how these compare to the Bright Turquoise and Green Quartz edition and pick up a pair today at Jordan Brand retailers like FinishLine.

We’ve seen quite a number of Air Jordan V releases this year and even some unreleased samples (like that blue suede pair we showed you not long ago). Here’s a look at an unreleased Air Jordan V Low in Black/Purple, spotted on the feet of Jordan Brand employee Josiah_Lake who has dubbed these the ‘Purple Haze.’ Of course, being an employee of the Jumpman will enable you to get your hands on some true gems, so perhaps these were some Mike Bibby PEs, sans the stitched ’10′ number on the heel, that were just lying around the Beaverton campus. Also notice the upcoming Air Jordan Retros on his table – namely the Air Jordan IV White/Cement and Air Jordan III Black/Cement. We’ve got extra shots for you below, so take a look and let us know what you think of this Air Jordan V Low sample.

One sneaker we’ve all been looking forward to is the Nike Air Yeezy 2, the follow-up to undoubtedly one of the most popular shoes of the past decade and certifiably a historically significant sneaker in the storied Nike catalog. It’s not a performance shoe nor did it feature any new state-of-the-art Nike tech engineering, but it’s their first signature shoe released for a non-athlete. Sneaker News gave you a first look at the Air Yeezy 2, which was first seen in the The Black Mamba short film, and we gave you a second helping of it when Kanye wore them during his performance at Coachella 2011. That Black/White/Mint Green colorway – should it release – will be a definite hit, but here’s a look at an apparent sample of the Black/Pink colorway of the Air Yeezy 2 spotted by Deftronic in an excerpt of Jay-Z and Kanye West’s ‘Watch The Throne’ Documentary. The video has since been taken off YouTube, so check out a closer look at the Air Yeezy 2 in the never-before-seen Black/Pink colorway after the jump, and stick with Sneaker News for all your Nike Air Yeezy 2 updates.

The Nike Zoom Uptempo V may not be on most stateside sneakerheads’ radar, but this wild basketball lmodel consistently makes waves in the Asian market. This sneaker started out as a Jason Kidd signature model, with a host of special design elements that made it truly unique. From the nubbed turf-like outsole to the metallic pod on the midfoot, the Nike Zoom Uptempo is one shoe you can instantly recognize. This edition comes in white upper that stretches across the flowing design, with some purple in the mesh and on the wavy sections that creep up on the forefoot. Hit the jump for more detailed images of this Nike Zoom Uptempo V and let us know what you think. via airrandyhk.

The man known as ‘The Glove’ had an arsenal of weapons that he shrewdly employed during his career, but it’s his loudmouth trash-talking that most player might remember him for. Even in our image above, you see Gary about to mutter something (looks like it starts with the letter F) to Michael Jordan, when the Sonics reached the NBA Finals and defeated the Bulls twice before eventually losing the series. Throughout Gary Payton’s career, he’s always been decked out in some great Nike Basketball shoes as well as Air Jordan PEs (you might recall him being featured in a commercial for the Air Jordan XIX). His ‘Glove’ signature line is widely acclaimed and fans are dying for a Retro release, but until that happens, check out Payton’s greatest sneaker moments below, which include the Air Jordan XII PE, various sig shoe PEs, and the Nike Zoom Ultraflight, and head to Complex for the entire feature.

Yesterday Sneaker News gave you a look at the Jordan Brand Flight Tour 2011 Signature PEs that were inspired by traditional Chinese opera masks. The Jordan Fly Wade, Jordan Melo M7 Advance, and Jordan CP3.IV each received a unique colorway with matching mask adorned with specific colors that represent the strengths of each player. This new set of detailed images should give you a closer look at the mask graphics and the shoes themselves, but we also have some additional event information to provide; the Jordan Brand Flight Tour of China will begin on July 26th in Hong Kong, where Jordan Brand athletes Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul will host various events such as a Basketball Clinic, All-Star Game, and in-store appearance. Hong Kong is just the first of four cities that are part of this tour, as Chengdu, Hangzhou, and Beijing consist of the final three legs of this one-of-a-kind tour. The Jordan Brand Flight Tour PEs will also release in each city stop, beginning this coming Wednesday, July 27th, at the first Hong Kong stay. Nike Sportswear issued Hyperfuse-constructed hybrid versions for several of its most popular models this summer, and while we don’t know the full breadth of the collection or its release dates, the next newfangled way of building those shoes is with Vac-Tech molding. The Nike Air Force 1 Low VT Premium is the only one of the set that we’ve seen before, if you recall the black and purple joints that dropped alongside Kobe Bryant’s Air Force 1 Foamposites this February. This new Quickstrike AF1 Vac-Tech is even cleaner, a 100% white design whose milky translucent sole has these looking like an ivory sculpture. They’re not gonna fetch international poacher prices, but you have to expect with such limited numbers that you’ll be paying a pretty penny if you miss out on the official release. Click through to see a series of new images and stick with Sneaker News for updates including the US release date. via Kenlu
