Nike Golf has popped up in a number of controversial issues over the last few years. There were Phil Mickelson’s comments regarding Nike’s ‘inferior’ golf products, and last year’s commercial with a stoic-faced yet apologetic Tiger Woods stirred up some debate regarding Nike’s recognition as a marketing giant. However, the Nike Golf roster is one of the strongest in the sport, which includes Stewart Cink – the 2009 British Open champ. Cink was seen wearing this unreleased Nike Trainer 1 PE during that tournament, which featured ‘NIKE GOLF’ on the heel, ‘VR Knows’ and the Claret Cup on the tabs behind the tongue, and a golf-associated plaid print on the ankle collar.

Big Sean, who is currently the opening act for Wiz Khalifa’s Rolling Papers Tour, performed a few tracks from his acclaimed Finally Famous: The Album in front of a sold out crowd in Atlanta, GA. During the performance, Big Sean wore one of his 25 favorite sneakers of all-time – the Air Jordan V Retro in the ‘Grape’ colorway. However, just one month ago, Big Sean was the focus of a ‘take-over’ of the adidas Originals retail spot in New York City, so whether or not Big Sean is on an official celebrity roster of the three-stripes is still a developing story. Jordan Brand’s latest hybrid endeavor, the pairing of Air Jordan legacy silhouettes with Air Max technology, has resulted in some of the nicest fusions that we’ve ever seen. The Air Jordan 2.0 has worked particularly well, with the full length Max Air cushion coming off as a seamless update to this piece of Jordan history. Fortunately, the colorways keep coming, with this one sporting a few design elements that have long been revered in the JB catalog. The cool grey/cement pairing has these looking like the Cool Grey Jordan 3′s from 2007, but with a bit of gold accenting to give them some regal flair. Nike iD will have undergone a thorough overhauling with their material swatches and color palette by the end of the Fall 2011 season, and thankfully the Nike Dunk won’t excluded in this rejuvenation. Here’s a look at some completed Nike iD samples of the Nike Dunk Low and High Premium; available this July 19th is the use of denim twill and corduroy as well as the classic flat leather and suede, with the combination of choice being solely up to the iD-er. The Nike Zoom Flight V was one of the notable sneakers when we showed you a special feature on Jason Kidd and his most memorable sneaker moments. The Zoom Flight V, now titled the Zoom Uptempo V, is often cited as one of the most recognizable basketball sneakers due to its turf-trainer like outsole traction and the large metallic pod located at the base of the midfoot. The Zoom Uptempo V doesn’t see much action on U.S. store shelves (despite still be available on Nike iD), but continues to be a big hit in Asia, which is why IST reports this new release of the Zoom Uptempo V in a Cincinnati Bengals-esque colorway of White/Black/Orange/Silver at retailers. The LIVESTRONG charity, headed by cancer survivor and professional athlete Lance Armstrong, has gained some major recognition over the years for its partnership with Nike and its signature color-schemes involving the bright and sunny yellow tone. It surfaces once again in the Nike LunarGlide+ 3, highlighting the midsole, swoosh, and midfoot stabilizer. Dark Grey is used on the upper diamond mesh shell, bull mesh on the midfoot, and the no-sew frame. We just showed you an upcoming P-Rod 5 colorway that takes a somewhat unexpected trip up California’s Pacific Coast Highway to draw upon the San Francisco 49ers‘ team colors, a move that follows 2011′s Nike SB NFL Pack in reminding us that the Swoosh will take over as the league’s official outfitter in 2012 (assuming football’s not extinct by then).  And though it’s been longer since we’ve seen any evidence than even the first previews of the ‘Seattle Seahawks’ Dunk High SB, don’t forget that Reebok also has a similarly-themed pack in the works.  And it looks like not only will we see the Reebok Pro Pump Omni Lite in Giants and Raiders colors, but also with the 49ers’ red and gold, with grey woolen sections to match the accompanying fitted cap.  Click through to see more angles and grab a pair today from Hanon.

There’s been talk of the Seattle Mariners making a play at free agent to be Prince Fielder because aside from that record-breaking 2001 season, the team simply hasn’t been the same in its post-Ken Griffey Jr. era.  Junior combined with Seattle heroes Randy Johnson, Jay Buhner and a young Alex Rodriguez to earn the Mariners their first playoff birth and an upset victory over the Yankees in the 1995 ALDS.  Griffey scored the winning run in the decisive Game 5 on an Edgar Martinez double and though the M’s were unable to get past Cleveland and earn a World Series birth, The Kid’s star was born on the national stage and Nike would respond with an even stronger marketing push.  After that memorable ’95 season’s Air Diamond Fury, the Swoosh moved to rename his signature line starting with the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 in this colorway promoted with the ‘Junior in ’96′ campaign.  Click through to see its OG-true Freshwater, black and white palette and get ready for these to hit Nike Sportswear retailers next month.  via in52
