The latest Puma collaboration takes its theme from a guy opening a computer case and finding a dead rodent inside. Really. That is, after all, the story of how Joel Zimmerman became known as deadmau5, a name he chose to fit the 8-character limit after becoming infamous on IRC. deadmau5 has gone on to achieve quite a bit of success in the electronic music world, working his way up to some mainstream exposure as the house DJ for last year’s MTV Video Music Awards. That mainstream push continues with the new deadmau5 x Puma collection, Puma First Round hightops and Dallas lows given the flattened-Mickey touch. Click through to see images of each pair and the hoodie options and look for these at your local Puma retailer starting August 1st. via FRESHNESS

These aren’t nearly as jaw-dropping as those game-worn Air Jordan IX cleats we showed you a few months ago, but a sneaker that will likely not release ever again is always worth a look. Here’s a look at a Black/White-Metallic Silver Air Jordan IX with a black patent leather mudguard and white midsole. One caveat: these are baseball cleats! Remember, it was during the time of the Air Jordan IX when MJ dropped the basketball for a baseball glove, so when the Air Jordan IX reissued in 2002, the cleat form followed. Finding a pair of these collectors gems is a tough task, so check out the images below and hit up the auction for this size 13 pair from syr001 on eBay.

2009 was a great year for the Air Jordan 1, the year that marked the milestone ‘big 23′ for the original Air Jordan shoe. It was impossible to recall all the Air Jordan 1 colorways that dropped that year, so let’s focus on a pair that didn’t make it beyond the cutting-room floor – this Air Jordan 1 High fashioned in black patent leather in a tonal colorway (remember there was a similar released version in dark obsidian). We actually showed you a pair earlier today, but here we have another look at this unreleased Holiday 2009 sample, which features a glossy, pearlized upper and a metallic grey inner lining. The window of opportunity for this Air Jordan 1 has passed so a release will likely not happen (unless Jordan Brand returns to re-releasing more AJ1s), so don’t miss out on this size 9 sample by hitting up the aucwtion from envyusek on eBay.

Nike Skateboarding has teamed up once again with Los Angeles’ Museum of Contemporary Artby releasing a limited-edition run of this Nike SB Blazer Mid, designed by Lance Mountain. The MOCA x Lance Mountain x Nike SB Blazer High features Mountain’s signature Doughboy icon on the heel of the shoe, which features a black upper and swoosh of a different color. Just eight pairs of each of the three colorways were made, totaling the twenty four pairs that were released to auction. In addition, each color was made in just one size, as the blue pairs are size 9, green pairs are size 10, and red pairs are size 11. The auctions will end on July 28th and a few pairs of each colorway/size are available, so continue reading for a detailed look and don’t miss out on this made-for-charity pair by checking out the auctions from mocastorela on eBay.

If schools still commenced on the first Tuesday after Labor Day, these would be poised to be the back-to-school shoe for early adopters. But then again, sneaker release dates have also become less traditional in recent years, with high profile models sometimes available weeks or months ahead of time. Guys like Wale don’t even have to buy them at a premium either, and the MMG signee has been spotted in the Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Dark Pine’ as far back as February. That was just after our initial preview in January, so we’ve been waiting for these Dark Pine Foamposites to hit retail for quite a while, and the Friday September 2nd release date is now less than six weeks out. Traditional deck shoes share a common design wherein the lace is worked into the ankle collar for superior stability in wet climates when compared to your standard horizontal bottom lace. The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski eschewed this build in favor of a more traditional sneaker-style lacing system and kept the boat shoe personality, this new pair, then, perhaps the ‘ultimate’ Janoski lowtop. The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski ‘Boat Shoe’ adds an ornamental leather lace to the rear of a Dark Oak suede design that detail-oriented sneakerheads will notice is different than the corded forefoot laces. We’ve known for some time that Nike Sportswear has a black and Freshwater sneaker with full-length Max Air cushioning, but here’s surprise news that the number is actually at least two. And it seems poetic to find Air Griffey Max 1 1996 original colorway being joined by a model made of the annual Air Max runners that bookended its release, the Nike Air Max 24/7. These Air Max 24-7s take the Seattle Mariners look to a darker place thanks to Dark Grey accents instead of white like the AGM1s, and they’re available for the taking a good four weeks ahead of the Griffeys at Eastbay.

Stussy has been around for ages, probably longer than a good portion of our readers, and at this point in the game they’ve got the clout to strike up a collabo with just about anyone they please. You’ve seen their recent Sky Force 88 Mids with Nike, and now the Double-S is getting together with Converse the produce a special edition of the Converse CX-Pro Ox. We hit you with a preview of these last week, but now a bit more solid release information has emerged. This collaboration will be available at Stussy Chapter stores come Friday, July 29th. Continue reading for some additional angles and let us know what you think of this latest footwear collaboration from Stussy.

The Nike Air Footscape Woven Chukka Motion is about to hit retailers in a couple of African animal prints, but that’s not the only way to make this model look wild. In fact, even the simplest of colorways will still break necks, especially when they’ve got the kind of three-tone checkerboarding as this pair’s woven sections. The rest is simple by comparison: a Dark Army green tumbled leather upper that descends to an off-white Free Motion sole for the utmost in avant garde style and comfort.
