Hip-hop culture and sneakerheadism share much in common, so after last summer’s countless ‘Beamer, Benz or Bentley’ reduxes and this year’s seemingly infinite variations on Rick Ross’ favorite cadence, it’s fitting that 2011 has been the year of the colorway customs. We’re talking specifically about reappropriating famous palettes on other classic silhouettes as in the case of our Air Jordan VI customs battle, and this newest such remix borrows a look released from that model’s immediate predecessor. The Air Jordan V ‘Tokyo23′ dropped in limited numbers a short while ago and Detroit-based customizer El Cappy decided it’d also look good on the ‘Pure $’ AJ3, the all-white Three from 2007. He was right, and the Pures’ white base likely made for an easier job than some we’ve seen; how do they rank against the best palette mashups? Hideous, I don't know whats worse, the Chaos 3 Customs or these.

these are ok. nothing spectacular. but really these customs are getting played! south beach colors, now these! people really trying to suck the "heat" out of a sneaker color way. i really do feel that is time to kill color swapping customs. leave it to the original shoes please! nice attempt but not really spectacular, i seen the video and really tried to "hype" these up, but they are ok!

El Cappy is fucking amazing, whether you like or dislike the color, it's still pretty fucking cool that he was able to completely redesign a shoe and turn it into this. All you people talking mad shit about El Cappy are just hating, you guys arent' skilled enough to do this, the only thing you guys can create is shit out of your ass you fucking nasty ass hater FAGGSGGSGGS -________-
