Allen Iverson is near the top of an elite group of players who parlayed their potential as NBA #1 draft picks into Hall of Fame careers. But Iverson’s college career (and as a result, his professional future) was in jeopardy when a Valentine’s Day 1993 fight at a Virginia bowling alley resulted in a 15-year prison sentence being handed down. 10 years were suspended, but had VA governor Douglas Wilder not stepped in with a pardon, AI would have been even further delayed from attending Georgetown University. Iverson made a huge mark as a Hoya, and before he broke Michael Jordan’s ankles a year later, AI rocked MJ’s Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ during his sophomore season at GU. It’d be even more ironic if the Hoyas uniforms were still supplied by Jordan Brand instead of Nike, but with MJ having hit his NCAA Championship-winning jumper against GU, there’s a certain symmetry in play here. fuck yea YOU guys reaally must not be into the nba if you dont know about Ai being raw. he carried that team on his back for several years at 5'10 150 and was making incredible things happen. no ring is always going to plague him but you should know that Ai is a top teer nba player

THANK YOU! thats exactly what i was thinking.. the nba played his ass, like he was really a hoe.. allen iverson was the shit, and he still can be the shit, look if he ever came back to the pistons which is highly unlikely.. him and tracy mccgrady assuming that he and tracy are healthy could still do some damage, its a bit of a stretch i know, but allen has still got it, and tracy has shown glimmers of greatness again, just a though

AI kind of.played himself when he was with Memphis. All he had to do was comeoff the bench of a little and they said they would give him a trade and he played himself. He.got a chance n denver n detroit and n Memphis. Thenhe went back to phil they didn't need him. Maybe he was.going through something but I think he did a lot to himself. But he's still my nigga

how did the NBA play him? He just got caught up in a bad trade to the Pistons where they already had two or three guys ALL playing the same position…and then he made it worst when his stint in Memphis lasted only 3 games…i understand he doesn't want to come off the bench, but AI could really light a team up if he did, he could be what Jason Terry is to the Mavs (jason terry once was a starter) and be instant offense off the bench going for stretches of 15-25 pts on a given a night

word, but jason terry wasn't a scorer like allen, i don't know any body with allen iverson's size who could slash through the paint like he did in addition to having a jump shot like no other , on top of that take the beatings every night like he did every night for years in philly.. nobody. but i feel you with coming off the bench i think it was really a pride thing, allen was used to carrying a team and being the "franchise player" everybody else was talking about "practice" and he felt played, and i know the pistons definitely played him but that was bad management all the way.. joe dumars nuts were tied especially when bill davidson died and his wife took over knowing not how to run or own an nba team, by that time allen was fed up with detroit and michael curry's hoe ass and the whole memphis thing happened and yeah he he got played

I agree with some of Mr Polo’s comments. These always have and always remind me of Iverson. Never called em the ”cocord 11′s”, always called em the Iversons. I agree that most Jordean heads don’t ball, havent ever ball, and are more caught up in the sneaker more than the player. Anyway The Iverson’s will be copped. Again.
