The wait is almost over, with the 2011 version of the Air Jordan V Retro in Black/Metallic Silver finally hitting shelves this Saturday. This has been a classic colorway since it made its debut on MJ’s feet back in 1990, with each subsequent release getting snapped up pretty quickly. The 2011 version stands out from the previous iterations with the blue tint found on the icy sole, a technique we’ve seen quit a bit from Jordan Brand in recent years that is supposedly helpful in slowing down the dreaded yellowing process. We’ve shown you these many times and considering that they are an OG colorway, they might sell out fast, so look out for these at Jordan Brand retailers like Extra Butter this Saturday or cop a pair now on eBay.

Nope! Still got a brand new pair of white ones I never wear - don't need the same in black.
Typical garbage quality jordan retro basketball shoe that is not for basketball. I'm going to keep balling in my Lebron 8's and spend that 150 plus tax on some running gear. Anyone that says that the technology is "too old", explain to me why nike hasn't improved it for this retro release or the one they had 4 damn years ago? Before the bordeauxs came out people were like "ugly", "not gonna buy" and I was happy until release day when they sold out, and 90% of all pairs are on ebay for 200-300 dollars. All I wanted was one pair for retail, which is overpriced as it is, and yet again hype ruined everything. I don't even like V's or jordans much anymore, I hate when soles are clear and turn yellow, like my purple foamposites will. Why didn't they make the sole black? They want you to buy a fresh pair for 200+ in a year or two, because they know you will, so they can keep cutting the quality down and charge more, and the people filled with hype will throw down the money without thinking.
Wellll i cant really answer all that, but from what i know the reason why jb doesnt update the technology on retros is cause people like the shoes as og aspossible. Thats why most people are usually pissed about changes jb makes to their retros. You could prolly see why the jordan alpha 1s, 2.0s and the soon to release 8.0s arent selling that well.

I am sorry to say but some pairs quality are so bad. Here in Japan, these are already stores since August 6th. Some pair are horribly made. You guys should go to store and pick by yourself. I dont recommend you to buy online.

Got mine 2 weeks ago. The quality on these is decent. Some glue showing on the edges but def not bad. This colorway is a must have tho.

Got this already and the quality is superb! A bit ashy though but the new suede(or nubuck) material is much better than that of durabuck. It decreases or eliminates creasing from the toe box and at the back of the shoes. Metallic V 2011 > metallic v 07.
No way. I hoop outside in my 07s and they still look better than these pictures. That blue tint on the sole ruins them.
that blue tint makes them look better..and it a new chemical that's being used for the soles of sneaks that keeps them clearer or "icey" longer before they start turning yellow'ish and old looking..
