Last week Sneaker News gave you a look at a vintage piece of Nike print history – a Basketball catalog from 1990. On the cover was Michael Jordan and the Air Jordan V, which was released in special colorways like the ‘Grape’, which came with accompanying apparel. Here we have a look at the catalog from Spring 1991, which, as expected, features the Air Jordan VI, as well as other Nike Basketball athletes like David ‘The Admiral’ Robinson and Gerald Wilkins. It was the era of the Nike Force, with shoes like the Command Force, Air Force Five, and Ultra Force dominating the game with its high-cut and durable design. It’s a far cry from today’s Nike Basketball line-up, highlighted by two flagship models in the Hyperdunk and Hyperfuse and complemented by another of signature lines and other take-down options. Continue reading for a complete look at this sweet piece of Nike history and let us know which sneaker in the catalog stands out to you the most! via CK.

Last weekend, Nike athletes gathered in China for the Nike Festival of Sports – a weekend-long extravaganza promoted sport culture in China and the world. Representing the basketball wing of the Swoosh were Nike Basketball athletes LeBron James, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, Tyson Chandler, and new recruit Kyrie Irving. Amare Stoudemire was spotted in Shanghai rocking the Nike Air Yeezy in the ‘Net’ colorway (a shoe that doesn’t look so high-top on him). We’ve caught Amare rocking some notable kicks before, like the Flint and Playoff XIII as well as the Cool Grey XI, but are these the best we’ve seen from him so far? Check out the extra shots of Amare at last weekend’s Nike Festival of Sports and let us know what you think.

The Talaria Boot is one of those niche shoes that’ll get overlooked by a group and slobbered over by another. It’s been a long while since the Talaria made an appearance on store shelves in the States, and it comes back with a fiery vengeance in two dazzling colorways of Armory Blue/Blue Lacquier (with hints of bright pink) and Cannon/Club Purple (with generous splashes of Volt). In signature ACG style, the Air Talaria Boot QS releases combine misfit colorways on rugged trail shoes, a formula that’s worked rather well for Nike ACG for decades. You can cop both colorways of the Nike ACG Air Talaria Boot tomorrow at select Nike Sportswear retailers like MrRSports or right now on eBay.

Grey out the upperon Ken Griffey Jr.’s signature Nike trainers and apply an aquatic blue color that can compliment pretty much every other color and also subtly refers to his time as a Mariner. It’s a recipe for success, as demonstrated by the instant sellout of the ‘Marina Blue’ Air Griffey Max 1 from last February. The AGM1 is still going strong with new retro releases and has spawned the Air Max JR, but don’t forget about about the successor to the AGM1 that’s getting its own share of retro love this year. The Nike Air Griffey Max II is constructed in a darker grey than the first but still has the same neutral appeal that’s sure to result in a short stay on store shelves. Jordan Brand athlete Ray Allen’s always been one of the humble guys. Even his portrayal of Jesus Shuttlesworth as a future star in He Got Game mirrored his true self – a consummate professional that let anything get to his head…until now. Well, the comical NBA Jam franchise is known for creating playable characters with oversized noggins, and as we get a peek at some stills at the upcoming game, we also get a look at Ray Allen’s Air Jordan 2011 PEs. It’s got a crisp white upper with a Celtic green tongue and lace set-up, while the ‘Away’ version uses a black/green upper. Will we see a release of the Air Jordan 2011 Ray Allen PEs before year’s end? Check out the extra shots below and let us know what you think.

Spring 2012 will feature the Air Jordan X as one of the premier Retro releases of the season, so is this never-before-seen colorway of the Air Jordan X a sign of things to come? Jordan Brand Associate Product Line Manager Doug Barclay recently tweeted a pictured of this sample colorway of the Air Jordan X, which features a grey upper, white midsole, and hints of neon green on the inner checkerboard print lining and the outsole. Like what you see? Check out the extra shot below and chime in with your thoughts on this possible upcoming colorway, and stick with Sneaker News for the latest updates on all Air Jordan releases.

Nike Sportswear has released several Dunks this year in both heights that employ high-contrast color and material blocking from forefoot to rear. A couple of these have managed to stick out from the pack thanks to their use of plastic eyelet holes, one of the key features on this new subdued Nike Dunk High. These grey and black Dunk Highs offer just enough ruggedness that they’d likely be a hit with Oakland Raiders fans. If you’re looking to add these to supplement your roster, click through to see more angles and then grab a pair from the only place that has this colorway: JD Sports.

Far too many MLB careers have been soured by talks of doping and the like, but Griffey is one of the honorable few who put up gigantic numbers without any performance enhancers. With that being said, we can forgive the man for getting a little enhancement boost in his sneakers with the Nike Air Max JR. This hybridized version from the Griffey legacy of sneakers features a full 360 Air unit on the sole and an upgraded Torch upper for extra breathability. Follow us after the jump for an additional look at the brand new Grey/Blue Glow color way of the Nike Air Max JR, available at Eastbay now.

Nike All Conditions Gear made its name in the early ’90s with a series of memorable designs that featured bold colorways still beloved by sneakerheads to this day. The new ACG look is a bit more aggressive, reds more likely to pair with oranges and yellows these days than purple or teal, so this new model is something of a throwback. The Nike ACG Takao Mid GTX is a relatively new silhouette but this Raptors-gone-WNBA colorway reminds us of the division’s heyday. Click through to see more angles and expect this GoreTex-protected Takao at Nike Sportswear retailers soon; Japan’s Styles just got theirs.

Complex Magazine declared Todd Bratrud the top skateboard artist “right now” last December, and if anything, his profile has risen this year on the strength of two stellar collaborations with Nike SB. Bratrud’s ‘Cheech and Chong’ Dunk High SB might very well go down as 2011′s most infamous sneaker and his work on the SPoT x Nike SB Dunk High proves this guy’s work is absolutely smokin’. Bratud’s latest reprises the tear-away top layer rolled up on the Cheeches, this time along the side panel where you can already see the texture of a blunt skin. Click through to see more of some of the latest Skatepark of TampaSB Dunk in quite some time and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date on this September drop.
