You might remember a younger Diggy Simmons from the MTV reality television program ‘Run’s House’, but he certainly has grown up since then. He’s got his hands dipped in the footwear game as the head of Chiv Culture, but that doesn’t mean he can deviate from his own route and rock a pair of Jordans. We’ve spotted him in True Blue IIIs before, but more recently, he was wearing the Air Jordan V Black/Metallic Silver while being a guest on 106 & Park. Check out the rest of the gallery of Diggy Simmons and his kicks below and let us know if you think Diggy has the talent to live up to his father’s name!

And you thought Nike Air was just something you wear on your feet? While we already knew that the bigwigs over in Beaverton weren’t exactly flying coach, the Nike Air Hangar is a whole new level of business travel. Yep, this 40,000 square foot facility out in Oregon has three G5′s sitting in the hangar but that’s not all. Also featuring a gourmet kitchen, exercise rooms, and a full on lounge-it’s safe to say that guys like Tinker Hatfield may never have to step foot in a regular airport again.
Speaking of Tinker, the Portland based architecture firm TVA designed this one of a kind space, and has had a hand in designing many of the sports centers on campus at the University of Oregon-Tinker’s alma mater. In fact, the two recently collaborated via the TVA designed Matthew Knight Arena, where Tinker came up with the plans for the unique on court design. Continue reading to get an in-depth look at this must see addition to Nike’s corporate repertoire. And what’s the best thing of all about the Nike Air Hangar? You don’t have to worry about those TSA agents messing up your sneakers. via ArchDaily.

While basketball began as a distinctly American sport, the advent of the NBA and the colossal stars that it produces has propelled it to a global stage. It would be hard to argue that LeBron James is anything but center-stage in that regard, and the man is making the most of it, taking his talents to South Beach China to promote the sport and give some game to the youth. During his tour, LeBron has hosted clinics for a varying degree of age levels, often switching between roles as coach and player. Whilst traveling, he also made a stop in at the local Nike Store in downtown Shanghai to discuss his new Asia-Pacific exlcusive sneaker, the Nike LeBron Ambassador IV.
LeBron’s travels throughout China are culminating this week in the Nike Festival of Sport, a four day experience set in Shanghai featuring other big names from the Nike roster like Liu Xiang and Paul Rodriguez. This event will be composed of endless activities in basketball, football, tennis, and skateboarding, all with the aim of boosting interest and skill in these realms throughout China. From tournaments to meet and greet sessions with these top athletes, the Nike Festival of Sport is poised to be a memorable event. Continue reading for a photo recap of LeBron’s China tour and a look at what’s going on right now at the Nike Festival of Sport.

Better late than never, right? Kevin Durant wrapped up his second consecutive NBA Scoring Title by racking up 27.2 points per game, and he debuted a sick new PE colorway of his signature Nike Zoom KD III during the 2011 Western Conference Finals. While the trending topic in the KD circles is the Nike Zoom KD IV - a sneaker that Durant himself wore during a workout with Joe Johnson – many stateside sneakerheads have been patiently awaiting the arrival of the Scoring Title PEs. Some of you may have forgotten, so here’s a nice reminder for ya: the Nike Zoom KD III will hit NikeTown locations this Saturday, August 20th. According to Nikestore, only NikeTown locations in New York City, Chicago, and Las Vegas will be receiving them. Stick with Sneaker News for more updates regarding a possible wider release, and if you want to guarantee yourself a pair, grab one of the few pairs available online from mingssneakers on eBay.

When the Jordan CMFT Max 10 added the Nike Air Max 97′s signature full-length cushion it was for lifestyle purposes, but in the case of the new Jordan Alpha Trunner Max, those Air bubbles are in place for performance. The Alpha Trunner Max takes the base silhouette that debuted during the summer of 1997 along with the Maxes from which they now borrow, bringing along the revised lacing system that debuted on the Alpha Trunner last summer. We’ve all got our fair share of retro trainers and runners, but sometimes there is a need to switch it up for something a little more rugged. Think of the Nike Air Magma as NSW meets ACG, a boot offering that maintains a stylish look through the use of clean leathers. The Nike Air Magma doesn’t get bogged down with bells and whistles, with the upper consisting of a couple different cuts of leather with a nice embossed Nike logo towards the back end. Continue reading for a better look at both pairs, which are available at Premier and of course on eBay.

If we must bring up an underrated sector of the sneaker game, we’ll nominate the women’s division of Nike’s action sports wing. The Nike 6.0 WMNS footwear releases have been downright impressive, depending on great colorways and materials rather than ‘hype’ and nicknames. Take for example this latest release of the Nike WMNS 6.0 Dunk High; it’s got a tonal black tumbled leather upper lined with fleece for that streetwear for the mountains look. Of course, these might not be suitable for hiking up rugged trails, but don’t doubt for a second that these won’t break necks on the street. You can find these now at Nike 6.0 retailers like Extra Butter so check out the additional images below and let us know what you think.

As the sneakerhead scene has exploded, lifestyle kicks having come into vogue and the whole ‘cut the fat’ mentality expressed following the global financial meltdown a few years back, we’ve seen a move toward classic styles like vulcanized soles and gum rubber bottoms. The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star has featured the former for so long that the latter is essentially invisible, so for this new collaboration with CLOT, the One Star applied a stripe of gum along the vulc sole’s kickplate. This makes for a nice contrtast against grey suede and navy canvas colorways, so click through to see more angles and look for these at Converse First String retailers on Tuesday, September 6th. via HB

Many sneakerheads consider 1987 Nike’s strongest year on record, and with the debut of the Air Jordan II, Nike Air Max 1, Air Safari and Air Trainer 1, it’s certainly a credible claim. This new Jordan CMFT Viz Air 13 borrows the AM1′s cushion, but nearly everything else on this design comes from newer stuff than the Eighty-Sevens. It starts with Elephant print on the mudguard to connect with ’88s Air Jordan III but then zooms forward nearly a decade thanks to the AJXI-style patent leather on that section. The design earns its name thanks to AJ13-esque dimpled quilting on the upper vamp and this classic Chicago ‘home’ colorway is as timeless as the models upon which this design draws. Click through to see more angles and pick up this September 2011 release from Jordan Brand retailers like SoleFly or get them now on eBay.

Following August’s SB Dunk Low ‘Iron’, September sees Swoosh Skateboarding reprise one of their earliest colorways and switch it from low to high. But actually, the ‘Plum’ colorway utilized on this new Nike SB Dunk High comes from the period just before Nike SB was established, when in 2001 a Dunk Low Pro B dropped in this distinct tonal purple getup. The thing about a great colorway and material combination is that it can look good across multiple models, so stretching this one up to a hightop is a no-brainer and makes for the kind of can’t-miss design that’ll have these sold out shortly after they hit store shelves. Click through to see more images and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date because this September 2011 drop just touched down at Korea’s Kasina.

Remember, as children, when we received presents for our birthdays or other gift-giving holidays, we played with the gift-wrap or the boxes? Sometimes, as adults, we get excited in the same way. Over the course of sneaker history, sneaker shoeboxes have become more and more imaginative and creative, particularly for special releases that deserve a commemorative podium rather than a plain six-sided cardboard box. Take for example the Nike Air Pressure, which came housed in a plastic jet-pack like sling-bag, or the recent Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Year of the Rabbit’, which, like the candy it was inspired after, was housed in a oversized candy-wrapper set-up. Complex just compiled a list of the 25 best sneaker boxes ever fashioned, so check out a quick sampling below and head to Complex for the full feature.

As the summer days go by, Nike SB’s plans for spring come into clearer focus with the preview of another Q1 2012 release. We’d just mentioned the spread of LunarLon into all corners of the Nike, Inc. campus and pictured above is the model that’ll forever be remembered as the first skateboarding shoe to feature the space age superlight foam, the Nike SB Zoom Koston 1. This Tar suede edition adds a Redwood Swoosh for a look that’s perfect for the cold weather, and their earthy versatility means you can keep ‘em in your rotation throughout the year.
