Jordan 2Smooth

Sneaker News just gave you an in-depth look at Chris Paul’s latest Jordan Brand signature sneaker, and by the name alone, you could certainly conclude that Paul’s CP2′Quick is related to the above pictured Jordan 2′Smooth.  These two models do indeed share a lowtop cut and a podular outsole design, but the 2′Smooth is much closer to the Air Jordan Legacy than CP3 series thanks to a molded take on the Air Jordan XX’s laser-etched mosaic.  In fact, it was upon the twentieth Air Jordan that IPS debuted, the forefather to the Podulon system in use on Paul’s recent releases.  So the 2′Smooth offers a host of connections to JB’s past and present, though they end up with a unique identity.  Click on the jump below to check out the October 2011 releases and let us know how these rank against Jordan’s other Q4 drops.

adidas Originals ZX 700 Boat Mammoth B Sides Collection

The adidas Originals ZX 700 Boat was one of the first sneakers to adopt a hybridized deck shoe aesthetic back in 2007, so with Three Stripes reprising some of the last decade’s most significant drops, you know these just had to make an appearance.  The ZX 700 Boat Mammoth ‘B-Sides’ reprises the black pair that featured the same skull-and-tusk embossing on their side panels, this new edition essentially the opposite of the original in terms of colorblocking.  Click through to see another B-Sides video depicting the transition and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date.

Nike Zoom Kobe VI TB | Available

The professionals might be arguing over their proceeds like a bunch of kids, but that won’t stop young people from preparing for the pros this winter.  High school and college basketball are positioned to gain new followers if the NBA labor situation can’t be handled promptly, and wherever there are schools suiting up teams to go to battle on the hardwood, you’ll see the Nike Zoom Kobe VI in Team Bank colorways.  These cleanly blocked Zoom Kobe 6s utilize a simple two-toned upper so as to compliment your uniform but not overpower it, a great way to boost performance and morale without distracting from the team’s unified front.  Click through to see the six colorways that just released and grab yours today from Eastbay.

adidas adiPower Howard Black White

With all the attention garnered by NBA MVP Derrick Rose and the featherweight Crazy Light series, Dwight Howard has been almost forgotten when it comes to adias Basketball this summer.  You can expect D-12 to be back in the spotlight as soon as the NBA labor dispute is resolved, as the Orlando Magic big man has pledged to continue playing at Amway Arena, though he will indeed become a free agent at the conclusion of the season.  But should Howard end up with another team, here’s a look at a signature sneaker that could serve as an adequate ‘road’ choice no matter for whom he ends up playing.  The adias adiPower Howard in black and white utilizes the same clean colorblocking as the Magic edition that hit retailers last week; how do they stack up to other frontcourt-oriented models like the Nike Zoom Hyperforce?  Click through to see more angles and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date.  via US10

Jordan CP 2Quick Upcoming Colorways

2011 will go down as a banner year for Jordan Brand.  You’d be hard-pressed to find a stronger year for retro releases, the Air Jordan Legacy is back on track and the 2011s offered your pick of cushioning systems and became the first model in the series history available on NIKEiD.  This tremendous freedom of choice also popped up with Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul each receiving ‘Advanced’ upgrades to their most recent signatures.  Melo also has the Future Sole line going strong, so for CP3 to match his comrade, Paul was willing to subtract from his own series.  And we’re not talking about the kind of sacrifice the NBA owners are asking the players to endure, but rather the simple subtraction evident in the name of the upcoming Jordan CP 2′Quick.  This model will further the talk that Paul’s line has recently drawn on the success of the lowcut Zoom Kobe series, the CP 2′Quick sharing that same low to the ground look and a strikingly similar heel counter as the most recent Mamba sigs.  Click through to see the first four colorways slated to drop in September and October, let us know which ones you like best and stick with Sneaker News for the US release dates.

Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low Miami Nights Release Info

It seem that the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low Miami Nights was slowly making its way from East to West when the alleged Asia-only release hit Nikestore online in the UK. Not much long afterwards, Nike confirmed a release in the U.S. at select retailers, and as of now, the most sought-after shoe of the Summer season will be limited to NikeTown in Miami, FL only. Due to the limited nature of the release, wristbands will be distributed on Thursday, September 1st, a day before a official release, at 10:30 AM. Hopefully  the LeBron 8 V/2 Low ‘Miami Nights’ – also dubbed the ‘Flamingo’ colorway – will follow a similar path to the South Beach LeBron 8, which was also a Miami-only release before hitting select stores nationwide. Will you be at NikeTown Miami to get a wristband? If you’re unable to be in the area, cop a pair on eBay.

Jordan New School

When something is dubbed ‘New School’, it usually denotes some sort of lack of ‘old school appeal’. There’s no doubt that the Jordan New School does have a more advanced design concept compared to earlier models, because it clearly takes after the Jordan Fly Wade rather than an earlier Air Jordan shoe. Starting the the bottom up, the Jordan New School boasts a fresh new design, featuring a visible Max Air unit at the heel (with the Jordan Play In These midsole), a slick stitch-pattern on the upper, patent leather and nubuck for a little style, and a sporty spoiler as the heel-tab. The Jordan New School will be featured during the month of October, with three gorgeous colorways set to hit stores at $115. Check out all three upcoming releases below and let us know what you think of this latest design, and stick with Sneaker News for more Jordan Brand updates for the remainder of the year.
