While we are all awaiting the official media debut of the Nike Mag 2011 tonight, Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer in Lower Manhattan featured a special showcase of the shoe as well as a Delorean, fully decked out in time-travel technology with a hoverboard sitting on the passenger side. The Nike Mag 2011 was up for display beside the car as well as inside the Nike Sportswear retail store, available for public viewing. As the mystery box was opened at approximately 5:30, pedestrians walking the street as well as the handful of eager fans who waited on line at the store were treated with a nostalgic visual surprise, as the Delorean, with doors flung open, blinked with neon lights and switches while the famous Back To The Future theme music flowed from the Delorean’s sound system.
Those who waited outside the store and in front of the well-kept secret box crate were treated to a limited edition Nike Mag 2011 figurine, packaged in a yellow box with ‘Magnetic Anti Gravity’ alert label planted on the face of the box. As we reported earlier, the Nike Mag 2011 will be up for sale exclusively on eBay, with 150 pairs being sold per day for ten days. All proceeds will go to Michael J. Fox’s charity to fund Parkinson’s Disease research and awareness. Fox, who is currently in New York for a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman, will further detail the special Nike Mag 2011 project and eBay auctions during tonight’s episode. The auctions will go live at 11:30 PM EST/8:30 PM PST at www.nikemag.ebay.com so don’t forget to begin your attack for the most historic sneaker bidding war of all time. I love the shoe! Love the idea! Love the bidding! For once a big name brand and a great foundation and working together to generate some serious funding for research.. Why all the hating?
We cannot afford it but for the rich its a tax write off because its for charity and at the same time for a good cause
Insane for us true sneaker head We will have to wait for a in store release It kind of fucked up but it all good Charity is worth it And really Nike not make money Becuase 100 % of proceed go to foundation
THERE IS A PAIR OF 11'S GOING FOR 40000.................THAT IS CRAZY YOU HAVE TO BE RICH TO GET THESE OR HAVE A INSIDE CONNECT AS A CELEBRITY
Just tried to bid on ebay a few mins ago. The starting bid was .99 with free shipping but with in 1min the shoes jumped to $2,043 but i scrolled down in the auction. Some useful info but what stood out was that they state the shoes are not intended for wear also it said that these 2011 don't have the power lacing system but it will have the power lacing feature in 2015....that means they will be releasing again in 2015.
SUPER WACK get you all hyped up so anybody with money can just outbid all the true fans this is bullshit
I did the calculations on the number of shoes from the mcfly closet video and there was way more than 1500 pairs, plus they would be stupid not to do a general release for the rest of us
It would be so sick if Nike would pt a very small solar powerd batterry or generator for a self lacing system bt its still a great shoe
Watch the movie. Self lacing (not sure if these do). The jacket he wore dries hum off automatically.
So can somebody confirm with me something. I am either missing the information or not understanding......These mags will feature the lighting system in the shoes but not the auto lacing system or they will have the auto lacing system.?......thanks.....................These are going to be so hard to acquire
Getting these shoes is gonna be like winning the lottery. I can see these going on ebay for 10 grand. easy.
i never posted a comment on here under any post but this is a perfect example of people buying ugly ass shit for the hype ............... who ever buys these will be walking around the streets looking like a complete idiot
The real screen used light up Nike was sold here: http://www.screenused.com/?sectionID=items&su...
so basicly if u want these expect to pay a few thousand dollars becasue every celeb athlete and jew is going to outbid u
wow like seriously auction fuck you nike company would of made perfect sense to be limited release to general public and would of made way more money wtf
The Air Mag was supposed to be a MAGnetic shoe for the movie. There was a scene where Marty plays a handball-type of sport where he could walk on walls and ceillings to get at the ball, hence, the mag part of the shoe. The scene never made the movie because they didn`t like how the special effects were looking so the shoes almost didn`t make the movie as well as the scene but I`m glad it did.
they would have raised more money for his foundation by taking orders for these kicks. I would have gladly dropped $200, but for the ammount these will bring, no thanks.
great! one of the most anticipated sneakers of all time and the only people that will own them are celebrities and those with super deep pockets/no real bills...come on Nike
No, that's not what it means. The whole power lacing system isn't gonna happen with these shoes. There's 0 plans to make a power lacing edition of this shoe. Any talk of the power lacing for these shoes is merely a joke that power lacing is not doable, but according to the movie, in the year 2015 we'll have the technology. These are not self lacing. They were never intended to be. The battery for the lights lasts up to 5 hours on a single charge and has a lifetime of about 3000 hours. And, they are not intended to be worn. Anyone who buys these and actually wears them is a complete fool. Every last person who buys these will keep them and display them or turn around and resell them on eBay.
Have u seen the shoes... that exactly why the box is big... its self explanitory but nike is trynna turn everybody into hypebeasts. Dnt belive the hype
