Last night was the official start to the Nike Mag 2011 Limited Edition auctions on eBay, and in just a few short hours, each of the 150 pairs released for bidding quickly rose up to tens of thousands of dollars. That much was understood by Michael J. Fox, who made the televised debut of the Nike Mag 2011. Michael’s exact words:
“It’s kinda cool because it brings together three populations of people with major joneses; the sneakerheads, who love sneakers, the Back To The Future guys, who, believe me, are out of their minds – and in a good way, thank God for them, and also the people in the Parkinson’s community that have an interest in research.”
Another great piece of information that Michael disclosed was that the all of the auctions proceeds would be matched up to $50 million by Google, essentially doubling the projected millions that would be amassed by the Nike Mag 2011 auctions. For more information, check out MichaelJFox.org, and if you want to bid on a pair, head to www.nikemag.ebay.com.

I would love to buy these shoes now especially if it will be for Parkinson's disease, but I don't have enough money

I love sneakers as much as the next 'head, but it just goes to show there are bigger things in life. Good cause and an even better way to get the word out.

its cool that they are going for a good cause
cuz lets face if you wore them you would look like an idiot
they are cool only in the movie and in a display case

Even though I cannot afford that kind of money,
Michael, thank you for making the shoe come to real and I hope your Parkinson research will cure everyone including you.

I'm in the UK and can't bid as the auctions are us only, iv started s Facebook page to try and raise donations to get a bid placed in an auction. Iv also pledged to auction off my og concords and donate the proceedings from the suction to the cause. I'd be interested if someone from sn could help raise funds in any way. Check the page and my pledge on Facebook at Nike mag a future without parkinsons. I was pretty upset with some of the comments getting banded about by some of the community and decidef to do something for the cause. I know I have no chance if winning sn suction but tye funds raised will still be donated to the mjf foundation.

They are using a system to ensure only bidders who can pay can win the auctions

nobody is going to wear these right? They are cool as something to put on a shelf to look at but I can't see a normal person wearing these.
September 9th, 2011 at 3:30 pm
Tinker said these are not gonna be released any time, not even in 2015, Lucky the people with money that wll be able to get them, and also help this great cause. Not me, but wish i could.

wow, i didnt realize his parkinson was that bad (all due respect, but he shakes pretty bad)
so its great that all the auction prices go to parkinson research (nike doesnt need that money)
im happy sneakers can help make this big of an impact
September 9th, 2011 at 3:58 pm
people keep getting mad cuz of the bids. but understand all this is for a good cause. if I was rich or had the money I'm be more excited about giving back. I'm so happy for Michael. god bless him!

Why dont you all get together if you want to contribute? Nothing stopping you, check the page I mentioned above.

LED lights instead of LunarFoam/ Zoom Air? It's great either way. It's really crazy how these shoes really helped with the design of the 2008 Hyperdunks. Nike is such a forward thinking company.
What famous person will be the first to wear these? Can't wait. Only a few looney celebrities could wear these and wouldn't really be shocking. Cee Lo Green, Lady Gaga, and Nikki Minaj. haha
September 9th, 2011 at 7:21 pm
Wow good for you man… Unfortuantly im in canada and I'm 15 (aka no money) i really respect you and the cause your aiming for so good for you.
September 9th, 2011 at 9:09 pm
I would rock the shit out of them haha wear those to sneaker con and no one is gonna touch you
September 10th, 2011 at 11:58 am
you guys can contribute towards the cause by donating to the foundation on their site. i know we can't afford the shoes but we can afford to help out…
September 11th, 2011 at 5:10 am
thanks man, unfortunately its not quite going to plan, out if 200 or so current members of the group iv only had 4 people offer to donate towards the fund, and when trying to clean up my concords for the auction iv ruined them. the dye from the patent has ran onto the mesh and they are now green
they were coming up nice and white at first and its happened when I left the mesh to sit and dry, so I'm going to need to come up with something else. only other shoes I have to auction that are in a sellable condition are my charlotte draft kobe vi's. I wear all my kicks either day to day or balling. I havent heard back from anyone at sn, and I'm trying to get in touch with someone at the mjf to see how to get the money to them.

Thats why I'm trying to raise a fund, my aim is that if I can pool a large enough fund of donations from friends and the sneakerhead community and to see if I can still get the Google folks to match the donation. singularly we may not be able to afford to bid, but we can still pool together offer what we can and still show we care by contributing to the cause, we are supposed to be a community aren't we? check out my page on Facebook, Nike mag a future without parkinsons. if you can please join the group and donate as much or as little as you can. We can still help. If we make enough noise we might be able to get our donations matched.
