During his interview on the Late Show with David Letterman, Michael J. Fox pointed out that the 1,500 pairs of the Nike Mag 2011 that will auction will bring together three major populations: the Parkinson’s community, the Back To The Future fanatics, and the sneakerheads. Kid Cudi is primarily a member of that third group as his sneaker travels as a noted connoisseur have been well documented here on Sneaker News, and the fact that he settled for not one, not two, but four pairs of the Nike Mag 2011 just proves that his sneaker fever is rather serious. Having the money of the popular hip-hop star sure does hurt either, and his recent visit to 21 Mercer to see the Mags for himself (thanks to Freshness for the heads up) only shows that he was serious bidder from the start. After the opening rounds of the Nike Mag 2011 auctions, the final prices have fallen just a bit now that the excitement is starting the ease, so if you’re ready to shell out a few thousands for your piece of Nike history and to contribute to Michael J. Fox’s charity, head to nikemag.ebay.com.

September 12th, 2011 at 1:06 pm
He damn sure ain't gonna give up the price he paid.
September 12th, 2011 at 1:10 pm
I wanna see how and when he's gonna wear a pair.
September 12th, 2011 at 1:11 pm
This just makes me more angry about the non-availability of these shoes… No I don't consider this celebrity a sneaker head… This is the same dude who trashed a FEW pairs of black laser Jordan IV's… Just cuz he has the money to get em doesn't make him a snead… What a waste…
September 12th, 2011 at 1:13 pm
that shit cray
September 12th, 2011 at 1:23 pm
This article is poorly written, typos and words missing everywhere. Get your shit straight!
September 12th, 2011 at 1:27 pm
I would rather have 4 pairs of DS DMP XI's over these ugly space boots. Nothing but hypebeast like this crap. It's for charity, not because they're dope. Shut up!
September 12th, 2011 at 1:28 pm
holy fuck! what’s cudi gonna do w/ all of em? Let see how he’ll rock those
September 12th, 2011 at 1:31 pm
so, people can actually wear them rite?
September 12th, 2011 at 1:47 pm
Congrats for being too stupid to know what these are all about
September 12th, 2011 at 1:47 pm
lol i know that rite…
September 12th, 2011 at 2:12 pm

September 12th, 2011 at 3:09 pm
isn't 1 enough? its kinda F'ed up he got that greedy. just sayin… the dude has 4 pairs and we have 0
September 12th, 2011 at 3:18 pm
c'mon cudi, leave some for the rest of us! jk, i wish i could afford 1 pair
September 12th, 2011 at 3:18 pm
Thanks for exposing your sneaker age. The Mag 2011 is probably the most historic and most-anticipated sneaker release of the last decade. It's for charity AND they're dope. I'd rather have ONE pair of Mags than 4 DS pairs of the DMP XIs.
September 12th, 2011 at 3:32 pm
Whoa, I didn't cop any pairs eithers but i'm not all tight about it. Stop the hate "on every soul". Atleast the money went to charity instead of makin it rain in a club, a sports car, rims, gold chains, or as Kanye rapped "thousand dollar shirt no logo."
September 12th, 2011 at 3:39 pm
Agree! Snagz you just don't understand the meaning or importance of the Nike Mags. 4 DMP XIs really? whether you got the XIs with Jordan in gold along the laces or not don't matter. The Air Mag came before the XIs and not just sneakerheads but movie buffs and other people have been waiting before you were born on these kicks!
September 12th, 2011 at 3:50 pm
thats it i won 6 pairs and i am still racking them up as we speak
September 12th, 2011 at 4:31 pm
So what if he buys a thousand dollar shirt with no logo. Hes a big contributor to africa because if Jay Z and in the Otis video the maybach went up for auction to help others. Who the hell are we to say what people can do w. Their money.
September 12th, 2011 at 6:21 pm
First of all the DMP XI's are 100x better looking than these ugly space boots. Secondly they made 1,500 pairs of these boots, you should look up how many pairs of DMP XI's with the gold lettering were actually released, then try to find a DS pair someone is willing to sell. I don't care if these ugly boots came out 200 years ago. Bottom-line is the DMP's are a beautiful sneaker and more RARE!
September 12th, 2011 at 6:23 pm
yeah that lil mini pin shoe maybe you got 6 of HAHAHAHAHAHA gtfoh
September 12th, 2011 at 6:23 pm
Not sayin that I have the money.. Cuz i dont. But ima wait till 2015 where nike sed that theyll have the power laces for these kicks. Now thats sumthin to spend mad dough on.
September 12th, 2011 at 6:36 pm
KID CUDI DIDNT PAY FOR THEM. THEY WERE BOUGHT WITH THE GOOD MUSIC COMPANY CREDIT CARD AND PAID FOR BY "GOOD MUSIC COMPANY" THAT WAY THE COMPANY CAN WRITE IT OFF ALL AS A TAX WRITE OFF. COMPANIES GET EXTREME DIFFERENT MEASURES WITH THINGS OF THIS NATURE WHEN TALKING ABOUT CHARITY. 2 ARE FOR CUDI AND 2 ARE FOR KAYNE AND ALL 4 PAIRS BASICALLY AFTER NEXT TAX TIME WERE FREEEEEE.
#KNOWLEDGEISKEY
September 12th, 2011 at 6:38 pm

September 12th, 2011 at 7:30 pm
I mean, somebody gotta win it, and it happens to be Kid Cudi 4 TIMES.
Congrats man, but better wear them….multiple times.
September 12th, 2011 at 7:49 pm
Who cares "what these are all about". Just a hype shoe and they are ugly.
September 12th, 2011 at 7:56 pm

September 12th, 2011 at 9:24 pm
good shit cudi! can't wait to see this fool rock em lol
September 12th, 2011 at 11:12 pm
This dude post DMP XI are better than The Mags? A shoe that was created in a movie people been hoping for since 89. Anybody can grab Jordans DS. This is what is wrong with you dumbssses who buy sneakers and call yourselves sneakerheads cause you got s couple pair of Jordans or limiteds and you think you know sneaker culture. Everybody not getting these unless your paper long. These shoes have a history deeper than that created for Jordan and these are unlike anything Nike has ever done. It's for charity so one can't be made at that. Money raised will help alot with find cure for Parkinsons.
September 12th, 2011 at 11:31 pm
yeah but on the auctions its says not to play played in obviously but for some reason i dont think they are meant to be rocked as much as put on display lol
September 13th, 2011 at 3:21 am
if i was him i rock a 1 pair and cop the car too. just to pull up on haters.
September 13th, 2011 at 4:05 am
stfu
September 13th, 2011 at 1:08 pm
i appreciate them more then u do im sure, but i gotta agree. these sneakers are a hypebeasts dream
September 13th, 2011 at 3:10 pm
Kudi spent money on something besides weed!
September 13th, 2011 at 5:21 pm
At least its free information you cant really complain if its free and its info you could not even get ahold of you stupid fuck
September 14th, 2011 at 1:33 am
Damn, a dude tweets 1 sentence and has put himself on every relevant blog for his demographic – with absolutely no proof of really "winning" the auctions.
Annnd if he really did win and pay an average of 10k per pair, that's a DAMN CHEAP marketing plan (40k) when average ass sites like WSHH charge cats that per WEEK. (And that's ONE site mind you).
Brilliant Cudi, brilliant.
September 15th, 2011 at 10:20 am
Lucky Bastard
September 15th, 2011 at 2:02 pm
I dont get the hype over these shoes, seriously what the fuck so great about these sneakers even if I was a rich motherfucker like Cudi I still wont buy em. They so fuckin ugly! Nike is rippin off ya fuckin dumb hypebeast kids. Even if the funds go for charity, dawg it doesnt matter cos your broke so whats the point of helpin the impoverish if yall workin 8 hrs a day for minimum wage an burn that on a pair of Nike Mag ski boots?
September 17th, 2011 at 3:07 pm
Congrats Kudi but my question is if it wasn't for the shoes would people actually be donating money for this charity or cause? I doubt it most people don't care about the charity they just want the shoe because If they actually cared about the charity they would have donated money just cause and not to get something in return
September 17th, 2011 at 3:19 pm
I hate to burst your bubble but these can't and won't.be a tax write off. Reason being, he recieved goods for his money. So no write off for good music. It's all good though, I don't blame him for going in on the mags. Great sneaker and a great cause!
September 18th, 2011 at 2:29 am
BOSS!!!
September 19th, 2011 at 11:27 am
Actually a portion is tax deductible. A large portion. You lose what the retail value is but the difference is a write-off. All in all this cause is getting paid, as the Google CEO is matching 100% of what gets donated up to $50 mil.
