Jordan Melo M8 New York

Carmelo Anthony’s homecoming brought a city-wide rejuvenation to a team, while vastly improved thanks to the MVP-caliber nightly performances by Amare Stoudemire, was mired in a decade-long slump at the bottom of the league and no savior in sight. Although the New York Knicks didn’t improve (team record-wise) after Melo’s arrival, the NBA Playoffs were another story; the Knicks, despite being swept by the Boston Celtics, were kept afloat thanks to Carmelo’s superstar performances. Injuries kept some key players out, but Carmelo lit up the scoreboard and willfully carried the load on his shoulders and will do so for several years.

The Jordan Melo M8 marks Carmelo Anthony’s eighth signature sneaker with Jordan Brand and the first as a New York Knick; in fact, the Melo M8 is the first notable signature sneaker for ANY New York Knickerbocker since Ewing’s dropped two decades ago (sorry, Starbury’s don’t count). These two upcoming Knick-inspired ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ colorway are now officially part of the Jordan Melo M8 line-up when the shoe releases on October 6th at retailers like Foot Locker. But will the NBA get its wheels again in time? Check out the Jordan Melo M8 ‘New York’ colorways after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for more Jordan Brand updates.

  4. Tnunn Says:

    UGLY

  5. BJ24 Says:

This shoe with these colors could have been kinda crazy, but I dont think they did a great job with the placement of the colors.

  6. hoyér Says:

like the shoes, but unless melo designed these personally, jb really should make something much more jeans-rockable for their nyc rep

  7. IWILLANNOYYOU Says:

ill swap it with orange laces

  8. @kevinsalazar Says:

    Getting there…

  9. cash Says:

Letter to the editor: the starburys do count. Their legacy counts. These Melos are a statement that we will buy 100.00 shoes and the starburys prove a 34.99 can be a good buy and performance bb shoe! Stephan Marbury was a great pg. Just as dynamic as penny. All world. Melo is a hater and ball hog. I'm wearing Jordan retro 7 borderauxs in the interest of full disclosure. I paid retail. I'm 31 and I am a 90s sneakerhead that hell I had an ephipany when it came to the cost of sneakers. It just really sad to see the total air foamposites retail at 225 when we all know some kid in Indonesia made em and it costed 12.00 to make em. and yes I had the og Timmys and they were air-mag-nificent !!!! These Melos suck. U guys pulled a MLB. The starburys by Steve n Harrys count. See what happens when an old man gets pissed?

  11. John K. Says:

Marbury's tenure in New York was largely forgettable. Was it all his fault? No. But he willed his way out of the NBA when he was still unguardable one-on-one. This, coming from a fan of the Knicks and Stephon Marbury.

  12. Big_Infinite Says:

da homes are better… def coppin sum melos dis yr

  13. young shoechi Says:

Step down form the m7 but u don't know with melos till you see the advances and them they kill melo chances of making a hot shoe cuz all the good ones are only on the east then to top tht to get them they want 250 and they wonder y sales aren't as high as they could be imo….

  14. Paul Casey Says:

Think the whites will be my new ball shoes, double stack zoom in the forefoot and max in the heel, if only a low would come out with that set up. my kobe vi's are killing my old knees.

  15. fear23 Says:

    Nothing Great……Infact..BORING….

  16. @levi180 Says:

I am definitely copping the home!

  17. J Hayz Says:

Honestly I really believe that the 16 yr olds that design the future soles for carmelo and it looks like CP3, should design all of his signature shoes. The blk/blue/orange colorway is nice. but not coppable. These are very very BLAH!! the future sole designs will (as always) murder these.

  18. J Hayz Says:

    agreed!

  19. 757boy Says:

…i cant say how they perform on-court,but MELOs signature kicks continue to get uglier and uglier.

  20. Trillionaire Says:

not a bad sneaker overall….but as a sig it doesnt really do it for me

  21. nikenate Says:

finally nike got a melo right! only took 8 shoes
