Air Jordan IV DB Superman
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Michael Jordan dunking on you and winning championships. Michael Jordan’s superhuman feats on the court are well represented by this year’s Air Jordan IV ‘Doernbecher’, which serves as the unofficial ‘kick-off’ to the looming Air Jordan IV Retro releases for 2012. The Air Jordan IV DB ‘Superman’ features a number of playful colors and details, like the Superman chest logo on the tongue, a comic-book like graphic seen through the translucent outsoles, neon green and blue tones, and most notably, a new ‘Mars Blackmon’ silhouette on the heel, which matches that of Isaiah, the talented young boy who was chosen to design the Air Jordan IV. The entire Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle VIII will be unveiled on October 8th, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for more updates and release information for this charity-driven capsule of sneakers, and let us know what you think of Isaiah’s design. via MarqueeSole.
you dudes is bugging. As a Dc comics fan/sneaker head these shits are real fresh. Bt hey. keep hating them. That way I'll get em faster......
These look cute for kids, I mean if I had these when I was a kide...boy I would be badass. People are being disrespectful here, many of these kid won't survive. Having got the opportunity to do this is amazing. Why are you all raging over this one shoe that a kid design? If you don't like it don't buy it. There will still be people who cares and buy them. Stop acting like being a sneakerhead is a big thing, look at the big picture, many people don't even know you exist. At least these kids are doing something for a cause before they die, meanwhile you complaining and trashing? please help the kids out or gtfo.
and yet at least 80% of you clowns will be standing in line for these 5 hours early and probably buy multiple pairs. Get a life losers. These will sell out in minutes and remember all u fakers out there as you do all you can to get your pair... Remember the cause here...and remember a KID is getting to design his very own Jordan 4 and his excitement tothrow everything he wants on them. Clowns. I like them and I WILL cop them.
Jus cauz a kid wit cancer made these....doesn't excuse tha WACKNESS and destruction of an iconic shoe! This has NOTHING 2 DO WIT BEING SNEAKERHEAD!.......IF U WANA SHOW THIS KID SUPPORT...DONATE TO DB HOSPITAL, THESE SHOES R A WASTE OF MONEY N SPACE! BAPE JORDAN 4'S.......PLEASE MISS ME WIT THA BULLSHIT!
All of the negative commenters should be ashamed of themselves! These kid designers have life threatening diseases! And you come on here and roast their artwork & creativity? SMH!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much going on...take the arrows off...take the superman logo stuff off..and have only ONE shade of green on it, not 2.....and then MAYBE u have a coppable sneaker.
In all honesty people need to stop judging so hard on shoes i mean if you really got the swag you think u have you should be able to wear them am i wrong? Also chill a kid designed these shoes come on i figure people in the sneaker world would have enough respect to appreciate creativity from kids through a pair of kicks. Im buying em no if's and's or but's because giving back to society and good causes is always good right?
These are soooo ugly they might actually be good. At least they're different. Not for me, but a good cause at least.
I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of the shoe, even if an sick kid designed them. Just give him my best regards as far as his health goes. I will say this, however; he designed them from a kid's mentality, so I can't really rag on his creation that badly, since he IS a kid after all. But I still think that there should be a consultant that should supervise those children's designs. Because if it comes out like this, then I would rather just make a straight up donation to the hospital, instead of buying the shoes.
No disrespect to the kid Isaiah who designed these of course it's for a good cause and I respect his youthful creation but DAMN these actually look like Soldier Boy ID these bad boys.....
this is lame. they coulda done so much with a pair of 4s....the 3s last year were real nice! not hatin on the kid, just the sneakers
All these people downing a shoe a terminally ill child made as a way the express himself are you serious??? I dont hate it, it will just take more time for me to form an opinion still. Either way it goes its all a front because I bet those internet servers are gonna crash from all the people trying to click that submit button at 11:59:59.
i thought it was based on superman and the joke, i think its fine cause i cant really go off on a kid who when at that age i didnt kno about shoes but i really think its weird that the superman logo has a blue patch behind it, i wouldve just put the superman logo instead of adding more colors for no reason
WAAAAAAAA WAAAAA..LMFAO...THESE ARE TIGHT AZZ PHUCC..I WILL BE THE FIRST PERSON 2 SAY #IWILLKAMPOUT4DAJ4DB...NO DOUBT..AND IM SURE SOME OF THOSE COMPLAINING ABOUT DESIGN WILL BE KAMPING ALSO...YOU WILL SEE..
Dont know why these niggas trippin over these when theyre the first to cop those foams with fruity colors.. black laces on these would make them a go!
They did really look like sonethin those Asian bootleggers would come up with, like the gucci or Burberry XI's that you'll see sometimes, or the XIIIs that have a lasered like look with dub zero type designs all over them, and these did seem similar to most people because I think the whole superman label makes you think that Jordan wouldn't do somethin like that normally, and therefore they look fake. But you gotta realize, these are made by a teenager, maybe even younger, and that was probably his idea because he looks up to super heroes and likes comics. Jordan isn't gonna say No to a cancer survivor or a terminally I'll child, cuz if he did, that'd be messed up. Of course they supervise and make suggestions to the kids who create the series, but mostly, the shoes are made from the kids ideas. And most of you probably know line I do, that younger kids love those bright colors. I always see kids wearin those volt/bright yellow or green, bright pink and blue shirts, goodies, etc...So I'm sure that's where his inspiration was coming from. The arrows, I'm not sure about as far as inspiration, and I'm not sure if they'd look better without them. That might be one if the better/different characteristics of the shoe that I actually like. These new pictures do make them a little more appealing. I love the cause, and I like the shoe cause it's what a little kid was thinking about when he made the shoe, and you don't nor ally get that out of sneakers. There is way more stress and anxiety due to pressure and the need to succeed. This kid just wants to make a shoe he likes and thinks looks cool. To me, that's something I'd love to buy and add to my collection. It goes to a great cause, and contuing to collect the entire series is def sonethin I wanna do. I will be getting my hands in these DB IVs. And congrats to Isiah, the creator of the shoe....we'll see what happens cone release day, when all you people hating on then are in line to buy a pair, either cuz your hypebeasts and jumped on the ban wagon, or you wanna re-sell a shoe when your supposed to want to buy it cuz your money goes to charity. When you re-sell them, that is not the point behind this shoe. Please leave them for the people who want them, and want to buy them due to the good cause and overall look of the sneaker. I know this post is way toooo long, but I hate when people start ripping on a sneajer that a little kid whose gone through 100X more than you'll ever go through, and he beat it. This could be inspired by what got him through the to the other side and become healthy. You can say you don't like it, and you can state your opinion, but don't say what they should have done, or that the idea's are horrible, and Jordan should have stepped in and changed things. You have to understand what the point of this release is, before you start ripping on the sneaker and saying how it's the worst ever. Support stuff like this, and congradulate the little guy for bearing his illness, and for getting the chance to actually design his own Jordan, and a Jordan IV at that!! Support the Doernbecher Children's Hospital, and buy these DB IVs of you really do want them, cuz that's part of what being a true sneakerhead is all about... sALuTe
prolly buyin em, i like that i can wear about 45 different shirts/shorts combos and every single one will match something on this shoe ;)
There look alrght but i would cop these just to sell them, then i would use the money to buy the the Air Jordan 4 'White/Cement'
I know. These joints DOPE! And the Superman logo can stay. That makes them different from every other pair of IVs!
All that madness means nothing....donate 2 tha hospital, but like dude said..consult these kids on their creatons b4 JB tries to put out some more bullshit n have weirds like u feelin' sorry for tha shoe n not tha kids!!! A kids creation or not wack bullshit being put out 4 us 2 by n using our sympathy 2 sell it is not cOo....WACK IS WACK...N ALL Y'ALL THINKIN OF RESELLIN 2 GET EXTRA LOOT R GONNA LOSE UR MONEY!
Summary to help others: Yeah, they look like Asian knockoffs but a kid with cancer problems made them. So please don't bash on his design and inspirations but, instead, buy the shoe to show support of his struggles since it is for a good cause. My retort: The one thing that I would like to mention is that this is a sneaker blog where judgement is laid upon EVERY sneaker, whether good or bad. It's not like we're directly writing death threats to the kid who created the concept. The majority of us are simply stating that the DB IV sneaker has a lot going on and is not so aesthetically-pleasing as others. Yes, it's the kid's design but WE are the ones who buy the sneakers. Personally, it's a let-down for me since I wear my kicks. Regardless, the DB IV will sell and everyone will be happy.
