New Balance US574 I LOVE NYC

When you think of a classic pair of ‘Made in USA’ New Balance 574s, suede and mesh absolutely come to mind, but a rusty orange?!  We’re not saying that NB hasn’t released some dope orange kicks over its illustrious history (a J.Crew 1300 and one of this season’s 1700s come to mind as recent examples), but seeing as the brand is typically associated with whites, greys and navy blue, not to mention their Boston roots, this one comes as a bit of a surprise.  But then again, you can’t exactly force New Yorkers to wear a Red Sox hat just because you open a store in the city, this Big Apple-inspired colorway and its embroidery a much more reasonable salute to the NB NYC grand opening.  Have a closer look by clicking on the jump below and pick these up at retailers like Brooklyn’s BX Sports.

Mighty Crown x Nike Sportswear 20th Anniversary Pack | Release Info

If you were so busy camping out for seats to last night’s presidential debate that you didn’t have a chance to read through Sneaker News yesterday, you might have missed out on word that Nike Sportswear’s latest collaboration with Japan’s Mighty Crown sound system crew has expanded to a full-on pack in celebration of the group’s 20th anniversary.  Joining the Mighty Crown x Nike Dunk High Premium whose release info we shared with you is a new Sky Force ’88 Low Quickstrike, both of which are hitting retail a bit earlier than we expected.  That’s true overseas, anyway, where this black and grey duo is going to hit shelves in Japan starting this Sunday, September 25th.  Previous information had these releasing about three weeks later on October 14th; are these two texture-heavy tonal designs worth stamping your passport to get a bit sooner?  Have a closer look at more images after the jump, let us know what you think and stick with Sneaker News for updates on their US availability. via hayabusa.

Air Jordan IV DB Superman

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Michael Jordan dunking on you and winning championships. Michael Jordan’s superhuman feats on the court are well represented by this year’s Air Jordan IV ‘Doernbecher’, which serves as the unofficial ‘kick-off’ to the looming Air Jordan IV Retro releases for 2012. The Air Jordan IV DB ‘Superman’ features a number of playful colors and details, like the Superman chest logo on the tongue, a comic-book like graphic seen through the translucent outsoles, neon green and blue tones, and most notably, a new ‘Mars Blackmon’ silhouette on the heel, which matches that of Isaiah, the talented young boy who was chosen to design the Air Jordan IV. The entire Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle VIII will be unveiled on October 8th, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for more updates and release information for this charity-driven capsule of sneakers, and let us know what you think of Isaiah’s design. via MarqueeSole.

Nike Air Flow Summer 2012

If you’re on that Nike retro flow, then look no further than…what else? The Nike Air Flow. The earlier Tier Zero releases of the OG colorways were an absolute hit and even the Lunar-version of the original did quite well, but if you’ve been looking for more of the original model, Summer 2012 will feature two new color-ups of the Bruce Kilgore-designed running shoe. A white/teal/royal and a grey/red/purple with a Mexican blanket-like print will be available beginning in next April with a $130 price-tag. More individual shots of these true-to-the-OG re-issues are below, so take a look and let us know what you think. via CK.

Crooked Tongues x New Balance M1500

When you first gaze upon this latest New Balance collaboration, you might have the vague impression that you’ve seen them before, and yet, there haven’t been any new 1500s quite like this before.  That’s because the first time we saw the Crooked Tongues x New Balance M1500s, both pairs were laid out in their raw materials, unstitched and unassembled, vaguely reminiscent of the various Air Jordan sculptures that were circulating last year.  But those familiar with the 1500 could already see what those ‘instructions’ were pointing toward, these new pairs relatively heavy on both leather and contrasting colors from a model best known in its OG grey suede edition.  Have a closer look at a bunch of images after the jump and expect these at Crooked Tongues on October 15th with select distributors worldwide getting theirs in the following week.

Nike Mag 2011 Instruction Booklet

What do with the Nike Mag 2011: Light ‘em up, wear ‘em, make your pals jealous. What not to do with the Nike Mag 2011: Wear them in the rain, try to fly like Michael Jordan, take ‘em apart. The Nike Mag 2011 is about as much unwearable as it is wearable. It is, without a doubt, one of the coolest releases to ever leave Beaverton, OR, but the two sides of the inevitable struggle that will rise up is: Do I wear them, or do I display them? The Mag 2011 is more than a sneaker, but a piece of historic art that signifies one of Nike’s most significant moments in history, and the last thing you’d want to do is ruin a pair of sneakers that would be virtually impossible to get at the right price. SF Giants pitcher Brian Wilson and hip-hop mega-star Kanye West wore ‘em – will you? Just make sure you follow the directions. Check out the Nike Mag 2011 Instruction Booklet below and let us know – if you got a pair of the Nike Mag 2011, would you rock, or put them on display? via YMW.

Jordan Blazin

Summer-time is the perfect season for Blazin’. The Jordan Blazin’, that is. This upcoming low-cut basketball shoe, which resembles the Jordan CP 2′Quick and utilizes the outsole traction from the Air Jordan 2011, will allow you to get high above the ground ease or smoke past your defender thanks to the lightweight, no-frills construction of the shoe. The minimizing of seams has allowed footwear engineers to create durable, stable shoes without adding too much weight, as we’ve seen on current Nike Basketball and Jordan Brand models like the Nike Hyperdunk 2011 and Jordan BCT Mid. Check out both upcoming colorways of the Jordan Blazin below and let us know what you think. via aaronknows.

adidas Originals ZX 500 Rust Brown Blue

If you’re searching for a ‘new’ model to throw in to your rotation of retro-inspired runners, don’t overlook the adidas ZX 500. Part of the Original ZX series of high-mileage running shoes, this new colorway of Rust Brown, Blue, Grey, and White does just the right job in arousing that old school, vintage appeal. A full-suede upper construction in the earthy rust brown is what gives these the fresh personality, and you don’t need to think twice to realize that just might be the perfect shoe for October. These have arrived a bit earlier than the expected release date in October at Suelas De Goma, so check out the extra shots below and pick up a pair now from 95soleman on eBay.

Unboxing The Nike Mag 2011

We’re all familiar with the infinite wait for THE package to arrive. Twiddling your thumbs while compulsively checking on that tracking number online, wondering if your kicks got lost in the mail because the ‘OUT FOR DELIVERY’ update that was made at 6:37 AM hasn’t been changed, running to your window every time a car passes by, only to realize it’s a wretched school-bus filled with children or a damn Fresh Direct delivery truck. WHY DO YOU TORTURE ME, OH SNEAKER GODS?!? It’s hell. We know. We’ve been there. So imagine if you have an item scheduled to arrive – an item that is undoubtedly the best sneaker release of the year and perhaps of the last decade; the waiting period is a lot worse, but the joy from unboxing your newfound sneaker pick-up is exponentially greater. It’s here. You’re mine. Get in mah belly.

Yu-Ming Wu, founder/publisher of Sneaker News and long-time sneaker aficionado, had not one, but two pairs of the Nike Mag 2011 arrive at his door-step, and he gracefully presented us with a step-by-step unboxing of the Mags – a sinfully indulgent experience that most of us will sadly never witness. A box, inside a box, inside a box is where you’ll find the Nike Mag 2011, which also comes with a booklet of dos and don’ts (don’t wear ‘em in water, don’t try to fly like Michael) and instructions on how to light up your Mags and recharge the batteries. What makes the unboxing of the Mags that much more special? Most packages arrive in a few days. For the Mags, it took 23 years. Check out the full Nike Mag 2011 un-boxing experience below!

Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Team Red Black

September saw the release of a suede Blazer High SB in black with Team Red accents, so how about a model that’s roughly its inverse?  Check out the latest Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski, a lowtop that comes in Team Red suede, but instead of leather accents, as is the case with all Janoskis, the black side panel Swooshes are embroidered right onto the vamp.  This one will take a bit more effort to get than the aforementioned Blazers, as they’re an ‘Under the Line’ release exclusive to brick and mortar Nike SB retailers, which means you can get them right now from select locations like Dissent.
