Halfway around the globe, New York City-based cultural influencers DJ Clark Kent and photographer Jonathon Mannion, who were in town for Mannion’s photo retrospective at Stussy Japan, stopped by Nike Harajuku for some overseas Nike iD sessions. As expected, DJ Clark Kent selected the Nike Air Force 1 Low, while Mannion went on the experimental offensive and selected the Nike Air Max 90 Hyperfuse – one of Nike iD’s most recent inclusions. Another item to note is the apparel worn by the guests of honor; Clark rocked a throwback Nolan Ryan Astros jersey, while Mannion proudly wore the Stussy x Lafayette t-shirt that was made specifically for the gallery event. Check out the entire Nike iD experience below and let us know what you think. via FRESHNESS.

Dennis Rodman is widely considered to be one of the most eccentric professional athletes in history. Grabbing rebounds and dressing in drag were his strengths, while his weaknesses were keeping calm and cool and maintaining one hair color for an extended period of time. That didn’t mean he was good at what he did; in fact, he was one of the best to ever play the game, as he was inducted in the Basketball Hall of Fame in August. The Air Shake NDestrukt, which made its debut in 1996, was the perfect representation of Rodman’s twisted and against-the-norm persona; the Footscape-esque off-centered lacing system is obviously the marquee detail of the NDestrukt, which also featured a funky zig-zagged outsole traction, a turf-shoe-like midsole, and an overall package of organized clutter that poignantly defines Dennis Rodman’s off-the-court antics.
For 2012, Nike will rebound with the Air Shake NDestrukt – sort of. Continuing its approach of combining classic designs with contemporary processes (the Air Kukini Free, for example), air Shake NDestrukt will return as the Air Max Shake Evolve; a basketball-specific 180-degree Max Air unit, an updated outsole design, and a cleaner, sleeker profile is what constitutes the evolution from NDestrukt to Max Evolve. Of course, your opinion counts, so check out the four upcoming colorways of this redone Retro and let us know what you think. via CK.

In a recent promo video for HBO’s ‘How To Make It In America’, Luis Guzman and Victor Rasuk, two of the show’s stars, were spotted with the Air Jordan III Black/Cement. The show’s cast features a number of actors who are not only familiar with the NYC street culture and fashion scene, but call the Big Apple their home, like Guzman, who we recognize in a ton of movies as the pug-faced, foul-mouthed character, and Rasuk, who’s acting chops began with the acclaimed Raising Victor Vargas. Check out the extra shots of Guzman and Rasuk in the Air Jordan III as well as the full ‘Duck Sauce’ promo video and let us know what you think.

After having seen the Hyperfuse updates dominate the early summer and the VacTech and Duckboot variations getting a bunch of attention of late, there’s been a welcome return to basics over the past few days here on Sneaker News with a number of new Nike Air Force 1s in their most basic form. The latest Air Force 1 Mid goes with a color combo so simple yet satisfying the New York Yankees haven’t needed a single major revision to their look in over 110 years, in this case, the particular shades being Neutral Grey and Obsidian along with the white base layer. Have a closer look after the jump and pick these up at Nike Sportswear retailers like Titolo.

With the increased popularity of retro runners, the Air Max 1 has received even more attention as the go-to pair of Nike Sportswear casual kicks. It’s often used as the canvas when Nike does embark on collaborations (unfortunately, a rare case nowadays), and was even selected as the #1 sneaker of 2010, with the Parra x Patta edition taking the coveted crown. This new release of the Air Max 1 isn’t nearly as special, but that opinion is in the eye of the beholder, because this clean colorway could be exactly what someone was looking for. These catalog shots don’t reveal the canvas tie-box, which we saw rather clearly when we last previewed the shoe, but they’re showing up now at Euro Nike retailers if you’ve been looking forward to a release. Will these drop in states? Let’s hope so, but in the meantime, take another look at this new Air Max 1 release below and let us know what you think.

The Nike Zoom Huarache Trainer 2 has taken an interesting path to market, this model first previewed back in spring as a 2012 release having dropped in a Chicago baseball-themed two-pack before disappearing for nearly three more months. Seriously, not even a peep, and then BAM! out of nowhere; perhaps that’s the kind of speed effective training gets you. The Zoom Huarache TR 2 has just popped up available in two colorways you could equally easily associate with Chi-town, two additional looks relying on blue accents soon to follow. Check out the whole quartet after the jump and then grab yours straight from NikeStore.

No matter which side of the strap debate you find yourself arguing, is there any doubt the Nike SB Dunk Mid hit its stride in 2011? Five years and one velcro enclosure after its debut, the model some considered the redheaded stepchild of the Dunk SB family has grown up to be a stunner like Christina Hendricks, this latest edition perhaps the most compelling yet thanks to its vague nod to the classic Supreme collaboration and its famed Elephant print. This pair’s grey overlay is actually a coarse tumbled leather that looks great in both color and textural contrast against a black suede base, red notes on the top and bottom finishing things off nicely. It’s tough to say whether it was these, the Brickhouse red joints or maybe even the return of the strapped Griptapes that’ll walk away as the year’s best, but one thing currently working in the above pictured pair’s favor is that you can get them right now from Nike SB spots like Premier.

Anyone else feel the need for an explanation as to why the Nike Air Max 97 was excluded from the Nike Air Attack Pack of 2010? The Air Attack Pack partially served as an introduction for the Nike Air Max 24/7, a hybrid sneaker in which the Air Max 97 played one of the major roles in. So its exclusion from the biggest mass-release of Nike Air Max classics in history was as bid of a head-scratcher, because very few from the 90′s catalog of runners can pull off the tonal upper/tonal midsole theme like the running-track inspired Air Max 97. Here’s a look at an upcoming November 2011 colorway; it’s got a tonal black upper with a tonal Challenge Red midsole, sandwiched by a black outsole. Very AAP indeed. Like what you see? More images await you below.

The designer of the first skateboard is one of those mysteries that even the most advanced archaeologist will never solve, a piece of American history born in California to an anonymous creator that could be seen to foreshadow the sport’s DIY/indie spirit. Juergen Bluemlein and Daniel Schmid created the Made for Skate exhibition and book back in 2008 as one of the most comprehensive retrospectives on the sport/art of skateboarding along with a super-limited 24-pair run of Blazer High SBs to commemorate the occasion. Three years later, we get our first look at a model inspired by some of the earliest artifacts they unearthed, a Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Roller Derby’ inspired by the hilariously low-fucntioning boards by that same name first sold back in 1959. You can get a sense for what the creators had in mind when you examine the insoles and other images after the jump; will these go down in Swoosh Skateboarding low like the ‘Lucky’ and ‘Unlucky’ pairs that also feature toebox embroidery? via Warped.
