News of the Nike LeBron 9 hitting Nike iD was music to the ears of LeBron-philes everywhere, and before it hits October 25th in limited numbers, here’s a preview of what you can expect in terms of colorway options for LeBron 9th signature shoe. Some notable colors available for the upper overlay are orange (Knicks?) and green (SVSM?), and the Flywire Mesh portion has some great selections as well, like Royal Blue to finish off that NY appeal, or another hit of green for that tonal visual. Personalization comes in the form of a heel and rear-tongue iD, fashionable in a number of colors as well. Stay tuned for a release this October 25th, as they will be limited in number!

Kevin Durant has seen success at every level of play. Montrose Christian, the McDonald’s All-American Game, Texas, Team USA, Seattle, Oklahoma City – ‘winning’ just follows the guy. Kid Cudi lied about copping four pairs of the Nike Mag 2011. He actually bought five. During last night’s episode of Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Kid Cudi revealed that he dropped roughly a year’s worth of college tuition on the Nike Mag 2011 eBay auctions – four for himself and a fifth pair for his girlfriend Jamie Baratta. To end up with five pairs is quite the impressive feat, especially considering Kid Cudi isn’t a weathered veteran of the ebay game; he created an eBay account right before the Nike Mag 2011 auctions. Check out some stills as well as Kid Cudi’s interview after the jump and let us know what you think!

Last night, Sneaker News brought you word of a new Derrick Rose commercial from adidas Basketball along with a short teaser that set the stage for what we could expect to see upon the full unveiling. ’The Bull’ maximizes its concept by utilizing the matadors as dummy defenders helpless to D-Rose’s quickness, their capotes drawing lines for the eye to follow toward the new adidas adiZero Rose 2.0. Click through to see the video in its entirety and let us know how this one stacks up to the growing range of ads we’ve seen from adidas Basketball.

After a relatively quiet buildup that saw some voice an unsurprisingly rigid preference for nostalgic designs, the Nike LeBron 9 has set the internet sneakerhead scene aflame with the revelation of banger after banger bookending the shoe’s official unveiling last week. The China edition is getting most of the attention thanks to its beautiful Neptune Blue design, but we musn’t forget about the colorway that started this firestorm. The LeBron 9 ‘Cannon’ was seen as an homage to King James’ territory in south Florida, but the palette was later confirmed to correspond with the look and feel of a camp event from last year. They’re impressive irrespective of the inspiration and you can see more images of this November 11th release and stick with Sneaker News in case we find them available early. via IST

What can (Gum Medium) Brown do for you? The gum outsole is one of those unmistakable features that seem to have an inexplicable ability to lift up a sneaker’s overall profile, especially on Lifestyle kicks like the Nike Air Force 1 Low, the Air Max 1, and other non-flagships like the Air Royal Mid and newer designs like the Air Ralston Mid. It creates an earthy yet stylishly urban motif that very few details can accomplish, and even when paired with a attention-demanding colorway like Dark Copper, it’s the gum sole that stands out the most. This soon-to-release Nike Air Force 1 Low has that seasonal warmth to it, and once it drops in the states, it should be a nice variation to an Air Force 1 rotation that needs to go from Summer to Fall. More images below, so take a look and let us know what you think. via Dunk.

If the ladies among you were feeling left out in the cold, not to worry, as there are two versions of the Nike Dunk High Skinny to be included as well. Falling in line with the earthy tones featured in the rest of the pack, these two come in oxen brown and smoke grey, respectively, with leather up front and suede on back. Both of these carry the namesake ‘Aztec’ patterning in the middle panel of the sneaker, falling right below the head of the Swoosh. Check out the full images after the jump and stay tuned for release info on these. via Dunk

A Bathing Ape and Gourmet’s done it before – tweaking classic Air Jordan models and creating new sneakers using the original silhouettes as the base. You can see the glass as half-empty and call it blatant plagiarism, or see it in a more optimistic light and consider it an homage to the Air Jordan line. The Pivot by diffeducation collection of MJ Boots will definitely raise a few eyebrows, but you have to admit – the shoes are kinda cool. You might remember the first time we showed you the Pivot by diffeducation MJ 1.5 Boot, which utilized the Air Jordan 1 upper with a hiking-boot outsole; the MJ 2.5 Boot utilizes a different style of boot outsole, using the Air Jordan II and Air Jordan II Low for the ’2.5′. Check out both the Mid and Low after the jump and let us know what you think of these funky boots, and check out Flauge for overseas pre-orders.

Its older brother in the Air Max running legacy turns 25 next year (the type of thing Nike is known for celebrating), but it’s the Nike Air Max 90 that today we have visual confirmation for a large lineup next Q2. The colorways range from new takes on old colorblocking patterns to the all-over tonal approach with not a whole lot of wild stuff in between. Standouts include a pair whose blue shades seem to naturally flow into the grey mudguard, another in soft browns with standout sockliners and laces, and a couple different applications of patent leather, and you’ll see all fourteen pairs when you click on the jump below. Leave a comment and let us know which ones are your favorites and stick with Sneaker News for the US release dates. via CK

With Jordan Brand pumping out plenty of hybrid releases these days, most of their mash-up models borrow from the classics in the legacy series. The Jordan New School takes a different approach, piecing together elements of contemporary sneakers like the overall shape of the Jordan Fly Wade and the midsole from the Jordan Play In These. The three debut colorways shown here include a black/white and white/black pair that mirror each other, as well as a third that brings some color via the royal blue that sweeps through the midsole up onto the toecap. Check out all three of the colorways of the Jordan New School after the jump and grab them now from Finishline.

It was removed from the Nike SB regular rotation to make room for Stefan Janoski’s docksider-inspired signature, but is the model pictured above really any closer to a traditional boat shoe than, say, Paul Van Doren’s original Authentics? The Nike SB Zoom Harbor certainly has a clean design, but its correspondence to the high seas isn’t as obvious as the Janoski line. Then again, this tonal (off-) white look does indeed remind one that plimsolls have been in use on and around the beach since they were first created some 180 years ago. Click through to see more of the Zoom Harbor SB in Sail and Birch and pick yours up at select Swoosh Skateboarding retailers like Flatspot.
