A few nights ago Sneaker News gave you a look at the Air Jordan IX ‘Oregon State’ PE in the school’s colorways of White/Black/Orange. While the Oregon/Oregon State rivalry is as heated as any other intra-state grudge out there (do NOT get us started on Alaska U. vs. Alaska Christian), Oregon State is a college outfitted by Nike (remember the Zoom Huarache TR Mid Pro Combat Pack?). Here we have another look at the Air Jordan IX ‘Oregon State’, courtesy of TSG; White/Black/Orange is a seldom seen colorway on Air Jordans, so its interesting to see the Air Jordan IX envisioned in this new combo of colors. Check out the extra shots below and let us know what you think.

They should have used orange or black suede/leather. And it would have looked waaayyyy better. That all black midsole and outsole just doesn't look right. All white uppers don't do that well on the IXs, similar to the anniversary IXs that dropped in 09'. I think they could have used orange or black patent leather as well, but a suede/leather construction always looks better to me, like the OG Chicago's, the Olives, Charcoals, Flint Grey's, and Bin 23 premio IXs. I mean I love the cool grey's, and even the quai's (although some blk or yellow contrast on uppers would have been nice). But what those have, as well as all the previous all-white uppers, that these Oregon State PE's don't have, is a contrast color around the Jumpman/Heel of the midsoles. If they would have just put orange around the jumpman/heel of these jays, or made the midsole jumpman orange instead of white, and then adding white around the jumpman/heel of the midsoles. Just something as small as that could have made these a lot better. But changing the upper to a two-tone color block, instead of just all white, would be the best thing to do. The all black midsole just kind of kills the look/potential of a great PE sneaker. Let's see if any changes are made. I'd def cop mostly all of the college/university PE's that JB has been giving to the students. Let's see em drop. Sorry for the long comment. I just like to put my true opinion out there, so maybe someone who has some kind of influence on the production of jays can have the chance to read a true opinion of a collector who has been doing this for over a decade. We'll see.... sALuTe
